PHASE I: Mariano & Co just finished Phase I of our renovation. They removed all tile and carpet, replacing it with tile flooring throughout. They helped us select a tile that was in budget but looks fabulous. Then they replaced all baseboards and painted the house. The workers showed up when they committed and cleaned up at the end of each day. We got an evening email letting us know what to expect the next day. Lucien responded immediately if I had a question. They finished ahead of schedule which allowed us to plan our move in date. We are now on to Phase II and III which will be kitchen and bathrooms.

Phase II: Kitchen Remodel. Mariano & Co. has now completed our Kitchen Remodel. The project started with their design team. They walked us through the selection of cabinets, granite counter tops, and layout changes. Once all materials were selected, they produced a 3D depiction of the final kitchen. The workmanship was spectacular. Again, workers showed up on time and our project was finished during the committed timeframe. Additionally, they did everything possible to get appliances up and working early than the final deadline so we could still live and function in the house. Once done, the kitchen looked just like the original 3D depiction.

Phase III: Master Bathroom, Guest Bathroom and Laundry Room remodel. I continue to sing the praises for Mariano and Co. For the guest bathroom, we converted the tub to a shower and updated appliances and counters. The laundry room was a cabinet update. The master bath was a new shower, cabinets and appliances. Again the 3D modeling helped us visualize what our selections would look like, and they came out exactly as depicted.

We now have a completely new home and a Contractor For Life. The nightly communication kept us informed about the next days activities. Lucien and Lauren Mariano answered the phone when we called. Everyone of the workers who came to the house were courteous and kept us informed. This company is completely professional in all aspects of their operation.

Last year we had Mariano and Co. remodel our Master Bathroom. They did such a fantastic job that when we decided to remodel our kitchen, the choice of which contractor to use was easy.

We are elated with the outcome of our 2400 Sq. Ft home remodel that reflects our vision and wishes. Our experience from design to the final project was superb. Mariano’s team was on track, detail oriented, trustworthy, and committed to excellent work from start to finish. Every evening, we received emails stating the start time, name of employee (s), and scope of work to be completed for the following day. There were never any unknowns. We want to thank the entire Mariano team, especially Lucien keeping us informed on the day-to-day operation, Rob managing the teams, and we can’t forget Richard. His eye for detail and craftsmanship left us with a home far beyond our expectations. Mariano’s moto is “Your Contractor for Life” this is very true for our family!

I am currently midway through my first floor renovation and am absolutely blown away by the professionalism and quality of work provided by Mariano and Co. The design process with Lauren was so enjoyable and I never once felt pressured or rushed. Lucien has been incredible with communication and even went above and beyond to accommodate my move in schedule that changed last minute. The crew that showed up at my home have all been kind, respectful and I’ve felt so comfortable having them in my home. And they’re so great with my three dogs which always helps :) I cannot recommend this company enough and am already looking forward to my next project with them.

Mariano & Co. replaced my ordinary bathtub with a top-quality shower. Planning and prep were fantastic and I was informed every step of the way. The craftsmanship in the project is impeccable. I had an infinite combination of textures/shapes/sizes/colors for the tile and a 1st-rate design consultant to help with choices. Had access to talk with the Mariano team the entire time. Dad tried out the shower today and said 'best shower I've ever had in AZ.' He's lived here since 1979 ;)

We recently completed the last phase of a remodel project with Mariano & Co. We are very pleased with the outcome. They added on a bar and wine fridge section to our kitchen which they incorporated seamlessly. We also added new baseboards with existing Saltillo tile floors which proved to be quite challenging. Lucien, Rob and his team helped us come up with a great solution to address these challenges and we couldn’t be happier with the final product. Lucien was very responsive and it was nice to get daily progress updates.

Getting ready to spend a good chunk of your hard earned savings on a dream remodel? Before you lose any more of those precious few hairs that life (and teenagers) have left you - do not hesitate. Go with Mariano and Company.

Following several months of research, changing wish lists, showroom visits, contractor quotes, and bickering about money.... punctuated by utter disbelief at my spouse for more time spent on Houzz and &^#% HGTV than any other life events. We were ready. More importantly - *I* was ready ...to jump off of a bridge.

I never knew the simple question of "what do you think" was actually a torture test. 4 simple words, invented by a wife out of CIA Psy-Ops, a new way to perpetually torment and then reject her husband in ways never before imagined. To achieve a mission - pick between "50 shades of greige". Or maybe a chic new shade of off-white for the walls (different from the previous 5 you were OK with) Or dinner ideas. Anything - so she has something new to shoot down. Truly, the most effective marital strife weapon ever created, second only to the birthday vacuum cleaner.

Enter Mariano and Company. A company comprised of the best talent in the valley for creating happiness in this process. (not strife) The designers, the tradesmen, the subcontractors, the Project managers, the vendors all worked harmoniously to complete our remodel. Change orders were efficient and well orchestrated. Challenges were met with a focus and attention to detail that impressed me. We went into this in the middle of COVID *and* the Christmas holidays - believe me, there were challenges. Every project will have problems and setbacks - *how* your contractor deals with those setbacks differentiates the good from the great. Mariano falls under the great category.

A few photos from the project, with the final "professional" photos that my amateur skills will never approach are below. I will not hesitate to call on them again. They are, truly, amazing.

The scope of our remodel was large: Completely new kitchen (cabinets, island, new splash, appliances, tile floor etc.) We also replaced ALL flooring in the house and brand new master bathroom (again, completely gutted and everything new). Too much to list in this review. I cannot imagine doing this with any other contractor! First, the owners are perfectionists and demand quality from all their subs. I was a tough customer as I scrutinized every little item. Not once did I get push back; in fact they went beyond my craziness to make it even better. The in house designer did a magnificent job transforming our dark brown space to an updated light and comfortable home! We interviewed four contractors, and although Mariano was not cheapest (and not the most expensive either) we got the best feeling from their professionalism and experience. We could not be happier and the results speak for themselves. We are almost done and I will post more pictures as the painting is completed. I had to get this review done because they deserve it and YOU need to know to stop looking and hire them no matter how large or small your project is!

Mariano & Co. did a superb job on our recent master bathroom remodeling project. It was not a simple project by any means. There were significant plumbing & electrical changes, including creating a new zero-threshold shower & installing a stand-alone bathtub in a different location than the prior layout. Vanity plumbing was moved, as well as light fixtures & electrical outlets.

We worked with their designer Erin for about 2 months to create & refine the new design. She provided excellent guidance to help clarify & realize our vision & style, as well as assisting us on the dozens of selections that we made. We always felt that Erin was tuned into our preferences, and wasn't trying to push any particular style or approach. The 3D renderings that she prepared were extremely helpful to help us visualize & refine the design, resulting in a harmonious design that was perfect for us.

During the construction phase, the plumbing & tile work was particularly excellent, with so many details (3 niches, a pony wall, pebble shower floor, etc). They did a great job installing new Fabuwood vanity & cabinets.

Throughout the project, Mariano was extremely responsive, communicative & well organized. Every evening, we received an e-mail explaining who would be coming the following day and exactly what they would be working on. In contrast to other contactors we have worked with in the past, they always had the right technicians there on the right day, in the right order, to get the project done in a timely fashion.

All of their technicians showed up on time and their workmanship was extremely high quality. They were all friendly & easy to interact with. They did not smoke or play any loud music on our property, and in general were 100% professional. They did not hesitate to ask when there were choices to be made along the way, and they were open to our suggestions. It's clear that they all took pride in their work, and showed great attention to detail. As a result, our final punch list was very short.

We've worked with a few other general contractors in the past, and Mariano is by far the best that we have found. We'd especially like to thank Chris, Erin, Jim, Robert & Moby for all of their help & guidance. We love our new master bathroom, and will enjoy it for many years to come. Overall, we give Mariano an A+, and would not hesitate to recommend them.

Work completed: Total kitchen remodel, new floors downstairs, new stair rail installation, rewire of kitchen lighting and switches, gas appliance connection installation, removal of waste, new baseboard installed, crown molding install, and new light fixture installation.

We started out design in April, ordered materials in June, started construction in September, and completed construction/punch list at the end of November.

Excellent overall experience. The entire team was involved and responsive throughout the entire experience. Michelle made out design process incredibly easy. She chauffeured us around to several different sites to pick out all the details and countertops. She made the whole design process feel like we were first class customers. She has great taste and gave us just enough options to ensure that we never hit decision paralysis . Lucien was forthright with everything about the job and I never felt disillusioned about what to expect or how much I was paying. All of the members were trustworthy and helpful, especially Steve and Cody. At one point our children accidentally let the dog out and Steve stopped working to help get the dog back into the house. The also ensured that the worksite was cleaned up daily and before they left for the weekend. Jim gave us daily updates on what work was going to be completed for the day and who would be arriving. He was always accurate about who would be on the job. He also clearly communicated when things were not going according to plan. This was a rare occurrence. When it came to closing out the job we reviewed the contract together and settled any discrepancies. I also pointed out all of the details I wanted addressed. Everyone of them was handled to our satisfaction. I will definitely be using them again in the future to redo my upstairs and add in a pool. Honestly can't say enough great things. A must if you want to support local business!

Mariano’s did an excellent job on the remodeling of our kitchen and bathroom. Their crews always showed up on time and worked hard while on our project. Mariano’s polite staff had great communication with us and worked hard on our home project to make it turn out the way that we envisioned. Mariano’s was a great find for us on our home remodel project and will definitely recommend them.

Mariano helped me build a casita/mother in law suite so that we could stay in our existing residence instead of sell and buy a bigger home with a suite/guesthouse built in. When we approached our neighborhood HOA they stated that adding onto the property at the side of the residence would not be allowed and construction would only be allowed in the rear of the dwelling. We did not have enough room in the rear for additional construction but had a huge side yard so that was not going to work for us.

Pros:
HOA negotiation. After we entered into a design agreement, Pete at Mariano negotiated with the HOA for us by finding 2-3 other properties that built into their side yards in our same HOA zone and strong armed them into approving our design agreement. Pete showed up to the HOA meeting with renders of what the property would look like, all the details of the other properties and their allowed construction, etc. He really went above and beyond to make sure they couldn't say no to our plans.

The design process. Mariano and Lauren on the design team were great. Lauren was very knowledgeable and had great suggestions for colors/fixtures/styles and showed us tons of options so we could pick what we liked the most. She understood that we had a budget and tried to show us the absolute best options that would still fit in that budget and also knew when to tell us to go outside of the budget to make something a bit better if we weren't liking what we put together.

Professionalism: Both Lauren and Pete had to deal with my mom. This would get them to 6 stars if I could because that woman can be insufferable at times especially now that her health is declining to where we need to keep her at the house with us. Pete was very professional and also helped us diplomatically when my mom would try to make changes to the construction and design plans without telling us... Mariano was always very communicative and didn't mind explaining any of the work that was being done.

Quality. Overall the build quality is way better than our original construction in my opinion. Mariano seems to use quality brands and products for their interior cabinet/counter/tile options but also even the construction itself is better build quality than the original house. When comparing the portions of the walls that were torn down/opened up in our existing structure to the way Mariano was building it - builders used clips and just stucco'd right over the insulation vs Mariano that made full wooden walls with full OSB protecting the exterior walls. Even to a layman the build quality seems way better.

Cons:
Construction delays. Mariano was very communicative and professional in explaining why there were delays, what we were waiting on, why things needed to be changed the ways they did. Overall it was still a great experience and we were understanding that it was a complicated project that went a few months overschedule. I would say to be aware that construction projects, especially right now after Covid, are taking a bit longer than projected. I will say that when we gave Mariano a hard deadline and that we had to get a move in date by x time due to travel restraints and my mom having to move in, they made sure to get it done for us and we were able to make the new deadline.

Pricing. You get what you pay for and we were extremely happy with the results. But I wouldn't go into a project like this expecting to cut crazy corners or get a super cheap estimate. I'm sure we could have pulled our hair out and got it done cheaper somewhere but overall, I would say we were more than ok paying a little more and getting better quality than going with a more basic contractor. Mariano does seem to be leaning more on the expensive side of things but the quality of the construction and products used are definitely noticeable.

The cons are not enough to detract from the overall experience and are more just FYIs. We would love to do business with Mariano again and are wanting to extend our master bedroom, bath, and closet in the future and we plan on going with them again.

Glad I went with Mariano! My renovation project included just about every room in my house. With the main work being done in the kitchen, laundry room, and on the fireplace wall. I also had them redo all flooring and repaint the entire interior! Having lived through a kitchen remodel when I was younger, I’m happy to say these guys put my mind at ease during the entire process.

Rebecca and Erin did a wonderful job helping me design the remodel areas. We scheduled multiple appointments to go look at everything from flooring to cabinet hardware. Any questions or concerns I had were quickly answered or addressed. After only a couple meetings with them I could tell they had a good understanding of what I was looking for. They provided me with nice 3d rendered drawings of what the kitchen, laundry, and fireplace remodel would look like. Which I’m happy to say are very accurate and match the final result! Also as someone who likes to see all the pieces together in person, they were able to get all the samples at their office for us to see. This really helped lock in the design choices and remove any doubts I had.

They started the first day of construction of running and really impressed me with their organization. If you have lived through any construction project or remodel, you know that no matter how much you plan there are always small items that come up. Lucien and the construction team again did not disappoint! They were up front about all items found or decisions to be made and took care of them. Every contractor on site was amazing! I don’t work from home so if I happened to catch them before they left, they helped fill me in on what was tackled. That combined with Lucien’s daily emails for the next days schedule helped me see progress was always moving forward. My next project is to redo my bathrooms and you can bet I’ll be getting in touch with Mariano again when the time comes! These guys truly do strive to be your contractor for life!

I had Mariano & Company renovate my kitchen as well as replacing the floors and painting the living areas. The project was completed the first week of January/2025. I absolutely LOVE my new kitchen/floors/paint/lighting!!! I gave them 5 stars because they met my criteria of Trust/Communication/Quality/Professional! I could not be happier with my experience. One of my family members had a horrible experience with their kitchen remodel so I was hesitant to start a large project. It is a stressful endeavor because of the $$ and time/disruption (I lived in the home with my 3 children and dog). From the first meeting with Lucien to the last walk-thru with Lucien and Lauren I was at ease. The entire project team were professional, nice, respectful and took pride in their work. Thank you to Efrain, Steve, Fransico (great job on the backsplash), Rob (he did a great job managing the project and giving me suggestions), the floor crew, fabricators and painters. A special thank you to Anthony (awesome job on my beautiful arch) and Richard (thank you for building my baking storage) who answered all my questions and made sure I was happy with their work. Lucien kept me up to date every evening on what was scheduled for the next day. He also answered any question I had. Last but not least is my designer, Lauren. I had an idea on what I wanted but did not know how to bring it all together. Lauren assisted me on every step of the way. I told Lucien from the beginning I did not want to be rushed on making decisions and I never felt rushed. Lauren pulled it all together with her suggestions and I now have a beautiful kitchen. We had to pivot from my first choice for flooring (for budgetary reasons) and Lauren gave me great alternatives and I love my floors. Lauren and Lucien were genuinely happy for me having my new kitchen and that meant a lot. I definitely recommend Mariano & Company for your renovation needs.

I highly recommend talking to them before choosing another company for a remodel/addition. I called several companies in the valley and they were by far the most helpful. BY FAR. I called and spoke to the office about my potential addition to the house, they said an area rep would reach out to me in the next 48 hours. At first I was thinking it was going to be like all the others, a hard sell, a home visit with books and project examples hard sell type of deal, probably a third part etc.... Some won't talk to you until you tell them you are pre-approved or have cash.

It was the opposite. Carlos called me within the time frame and was just great. We talked about scenarios, city codes, hoa requirements and potential realistic cost expectations. He was very personable, upfront, knowledgeable and answered my questions in full.

If you are starting a project, make sure you call them. They are not afraid of competing bids, answering questions, and giving their input for YOU to make an informed decision.

I am usually leary of general contractors, having been in the trades business myself, but I am confident that if you talk to Carlos, he will not disappoint.

I don't write a lot of reviews, but they deserved one.

We recently had Mariano & Co., LLC renovate our Laundry Room. This is our second project with the Mariano Team. Last year, they renovated our Master Bathroom and Guest Bathroom. We were so impressed by the quality of their work that we engaged them again for our Laundry Room update.
The photos below show the Laundry Room just prior to the start of the renovation work. They don't show the complete "Before" situation for the North Wall was completely stuffed with clutter and the area to the left of the washer and dryer was similarly cluttered because the only true storage in the room was the cabinetry above the washer and dryer.
Obviously, we wanted to add a sink in the update. We also wanted to make sure that there was a space to hang wet or dry garments, a place for dirty laundry and as much storage area as possible with provisions for a vacuum cleaner, brooms, mops, etc. The Mariano Team was able to deliver this wish list with innovative solutions that used their standard cabinetry. The use of standard cabinets instead of custom cabinets (which they also can provide) kept the cost of our renovation in check
When completed, the Laundry Room met, and in many cases, exceeded our expectations. My wife keeps saying that she loves her new Laundry Room because everything has its place (especially the location of the dirty laundry next to the washer) and the room looks beautiful while being completely functional.

Everything that was in the room before the renovation (including all the items that were part of the clutter in the North Wall nook and the area to the left of the washer and dryer) are stored in the cabinets and surprisingly, there are a number of "open shelves" in the cabinets.
Some other items of note are that the work was all completed on schedule. As usual for the Mariano Team, each upcoming day's work schedule was detailed along with the names of the individuals coming to the house, in an e-mail sent the night before the work was to be performed. No work on the project was started until the design was agreed upon and the Mariano Team provided an experienced designer to help with the project layout, colors and material selection and coordination with existing materials in the house.
All in all, we are pleased with the project and the responsiveness and quality work of the Mariano Team.

NICEST GROUP OF PEOPLE & HIGH-QUALITY WORK! We worked with Mariano over the summer to renovate our 1951 home in downtown Tempe. We knocked out some walls, filled in some doors and windows that were out of place from the previous owner, and did a full kitchen and bath remodel. The project was only 5 weeks, and if we ever had a problem, Mariano's team came and fixed it.

We could trust them the whole way through, and they were always the most helpful people. In particular, Lauren and Lucien Mariano would always be quick to respond to questions or concerns. Since our project got started sooner than expected, they helped us make 1,000 decisions fast in a relaxed and organized way, and I don't regret any decision we made.

The best part about Mariano (besides the quality work) was their online communication portal. We knew every night what the work scheduled for the next day would be. We got photo updates throughout the process (since we temporarily moved out of our home), and we were able to communicate back and forth with the team and see our project quotes and budget.

I don't think our project could have gone any better, and it's been 3 months now since our project ended, and we are just amazed at how beautiful and functional our home is now. The quality of the people, the materials and resources, and communication are top-notch, and I don't think we would have found anyone we would have trusted more to give us everything we wanted and within our budget. WE WILL HIRE THEM AGAIN FOR OTHER PROJECTS & REFER TO FAMILY & FRIENDS!

In a word excellent. After reviewing bids and doing our due diligence, we landed on Mariano & Co to do our renovation. The reno consisted of converting an old tub shower combo with single vanity to a zero threshold shower with double sink and converting a powder room into a full bath by adding a walk-in glass door shower. As with any reno, you can expect a disruption to your daily routine. But the dedicated Mariano & Co team made the process as smooth as possible. Mariano & Co took my concepts and created two stunning bathrooms. Lauren, the designer took my ideas and offered numerous selections to customize the look and stay in budget. Lucien, the project manager was in constant communication with us. The entire construction team was amazing, always on time, courteous, meticulous, professional and detail oriented. We highly recommend Mariano & Co. We can't wait for them to reno our master bath.

Where to begin? We have waited for years to renovated our kitchen. After hearing horror stories of bad contractors that don’t show, poor craftsmanship, and terrible customer service, we were cautious about picking a contractor. We found Mariano Co and immediately knew they were different. From the beginning their communication, organization and professionalism was top notch. Michelle was kind, patient and knowledgeable about interior design. She walked us through each selection and offers her design eye in moments of “too many options” and practical considerations. Lucian updated us daily on what to expect the next day. He also fielded all our questions along the way. Every employee from Mariano was on time and respectful of our home and offered us words of encouragement when we grew weary of indoor camping and the construction zone. Most of all, Eric was amazing! His eye for detail, precision and level of craftsmanship was the best we have seen. He worked hard and always cleaned up after himself. He was a true professional! We will forever be grateful to Mariano Co for creating a beautiful kitchen that we will create memories and raise our family. They will absolutely be our Contractor for Life. Thank you!
