Landscaping reviews in Mesa, Arizona

I love this nursery so much. I used to spend hours just wondering around looking at all the beautiful plants. When I first started my plant addiction, this is where I turned to. The staff is well versed in different types of plants and the requirements & care for each one. They have really saved me a lot of time and money on plants that would not have fit my lifestyle. They get regular shipments in. So, if you don’t find a plant you fell in love with today, just check back when they get their new shipment.

Great people to deal with, very freindly and always helpful. I enjoy my once in a few month trips here to find plants i look forward to watch grow and thrive, especially if they are fruit bearing plants. I always leave happy and better educated on the plants i just bought or on the ones in my gardens at home. Keep up the great service!!

I just left Summer Winds and said to myself, "What a pleasant experience". The staff was super helpful, knowledgeable and had great ideas for the space I was looking to fill. They also have a terrific selection to choose from and their prices are very reasonable. I cannot say that about the nursery I visited the day before; and, yes, I left "that" nursery empty handed and discouraged. Can't wait to go back!!!

This is one of my favorites. The staff are always super kind and helpful, and the kitties there are wonderful to visit. Their plants are usually in good condition. They do not have an indoor plant greenhouse, just a covered patio. So mind the weather when you plant shop for indoor plants. I have noticed that some of the plants I have gotten and seen there are over watered, but they have an awesome return policy.

Beautiful nursery atmosphere, though it felt crowded on the weekend.

Very impressed. I live out of state and requested a gift certificate on their website. The certificate was received very quickly, presented in a decorative envelope, and I received not only an email response to a question submitted through email, but a voicemail also. We are planning to move to the area next year and this will be our nursery. Thanks to the folks that took time to leave reviews.

They have really improved their customer service in recent years.
Besides that, they have an diverse selection of flowers, shrubs, ground covers, seasonal veggies and a huge seed selection including my favorite brand Botanical Interests.
The pots and tools are pricier than at big box stores or online but they have a beautiful selection.
They're great about mask wearing and were one of the very first businesses I visited that required masks early on in the pandemic. Thank you for doing your part, Summer Winds! -
The BEST place for in pot flower shopping. Katie helped on both our visits and all our plants, and vines are exploding with colors. Thank you!!

The off season selection but a lot to see. Very helpful.

Excellent service, knowledgeable and friendly staff. Good variety of plants and products. A favorite place to stroll and plan out our dream garden and yard.

Good selection of plants/trees with very helpful, knowledgeable and friendly staff. Pots and pottery seem pricey, but beautiful Mexican pottery. I love being able to wander around and check everything out. They have a fantastic selection of fertilizers and plant products. I will definitely be back!

One of the bests nurseries in East Valley, all the workers are very helpful, and there are many plants to choose from. They also have a good selection of house plants from common to rare, and they are reasonably priced. Not to mention, they have the cutest cat helpers, Bob was nice enough to give me a tour for some head scratches❤
10/10 experience. -
I came here for the first time this week looking for pottery, after checking some other local nurseries and being shocked at the prices. Summerwinds had prices about 50% of some of the big nurseries, and a good selection. I also shopped around for plants, and was blown away by their selection of tomatoes, peppers and other veggies. They had so many varieties, especially of peppers, that I'd been unable to find at big box stores or big local nurseries.
The employees were also friendly and helpful, directing me to different plants, answering questions, and politely informing me that they were closing after I lost track of time looking at pottery. They still let me check out and then helped me load heavy pots into my car. Great experience. -
I was impressed with the selection and the health of the plants.
I was looking for SEVERAL varieties of tomatoes. They had all I was looking for except one, and my list was pretty long.
I also came away with a few I haven't heard of that I'm excited to see grow.
I had been all over town with my tomato variety list and I was about to let it go and settle. One_more_nursery I said. This was it and I'm glad I went. -
I like this place. They have a good selection of plants and really cool planters. I ended up getting a few succulents. They have these really cool planters that look like a Buddha head.

Showed up 45 minutes before closing and stood there unsure of what to do...majority was covered up. Not much to look at.

I've always had great experiences at SummerWinds Nursery, and today was no exception. I called to ask a few questions about some plants I was considering, and Cheri was fantastic! She made suggestions, answered my questions, and was very friendly and knowledgeable. I'll be back for more plant purchases in the near future!

I bought 6 Rose bushes recently here. 3 Mr. Lincoln's, 2 perfume pink, and 1 climbing ice berg. I was told they will do well in full sun when I bought them. My girlfriend bought fertilizer and mulch from the same store I bought the roses. We did everything right in planting these roses. The size of the holes, mixing mulch and fertilizer with the soil, everything. I have a scentimental Rose bush in full sun I bought from summer winds that has done very well for over a year. The 6 that I bought recently all started wilting within a few hours of planting. My girlfriend called summer winds and talked to Teresa and my girlfriend explained every step we took in planting these roses. Teresa then asked where we had them planted. My girlfriend told her in full sun, Teresa said they will not survive in full sun. I then called summer winds and was told that roses will not survive in full sun. I said you guys sold me roses that not only have tags that say full sun but told me when I bought them they will be fine in full sun. I have a Rose bush in full sun, so do a lot of people in my neighborhood. I said I want a refund and they put me on the phone with a manager. The manager said bring them back and we will refund your money. I brought them back and the manager said I can't have a refund without a receipt. I said Im not leaving without a refund so she told me I was a nasty person. She then gave me a refund and said she hopes I never come back. Her name is Deborah.
So, they lied about roses not being able to be planted in full sun, Deborah lied about not being able to give me a refund without a receipt.
Dishonest and incompetent. You know who you are dealing with when things go wrong. You are able to see who is truly professional when dealing with a unhappy customer who was lied to. Don't worry Deborah, I won't be back.
This part of the review is in response to the owners response to my review. In the owners response, no responsibility is taken for the staff's dishonest, disrespectful behavior. It seems as though I lied about what took place. All of my information is in their system and it's clear the owner neglected to make any effort to communicate with me regarding the lies and disrespect I received from the staff at summer winds nursery. A few days after I demanded and received my refund for the unhealthy rose bushes I purchased from summer winds, I went to Berridge nursery and talked to their staff. They assured me that roses do very well in full sun in AZ. I bought 6 Rose bushes and planted them in the same spot as the roses I purchased from summer winds. All 6 are currently blooming and doing very well. Either the owner at summer winds is clueless or dishonest. Either way it worked out. I have my rose garden. -
This is one of my favorite nurseries. The staff are knowledgeable, they have a great selection, and their plants are well cared for. This is always my first stop when I'm trying to decide what to plant in a given space.
The pricing can be hit or miss. I feel like I've gotten some good deals here; however, I purchased some vines recently only to see the same plants for 1/2 to 1/3 of the price at Whitfill's a few days later. But that being said, I still prefer the experience at SummerWinds and they've had a variety of plants that I haven't been able to find elsewhere. -
Fabulous selection and the staff is very helpful.
