Nicolas and his crew are very professional and easy to work with. They just helped me trim all the trees around my house. I’ m happy for his work.

We recently had them out to do weed whacking, tree work and some planting. They are reliable, hard working and a reasonable price and are very responsive when you text or call. I like that they are able to do many different types of work so that I can get all of my yard work tasks done by one company. Colores Tree Services (and landscaping, too) is a great company to work with and I'll be calling them again soon!

I gave Colores a call after seeing their work truck on the freeway to inquire about a tree I needed cut on my property.
They were able to give me an estimate through text.
After we agreed on the job that needed to be done and the different options they had available they came on the next business day.
They got the job done fast and safe.
They are timely and professional. They kept me updated from the start of the job all the way to when they were done.
I will definitely be calling them for future jobs.

I used Colores Tree Service to prune several trees in my yard as well as some additional yard work (brining in crushed gravel, cleaning up of the front, side and back yard). Nicholas was great to work with. He was responsive when I reached out to get information, got an estimate (which he kept to), was on time, did a great job, and left the yard in great shape when he left. Definitely 5 stars.

Colores Tree Service did an incredible job on our property. Over several days they trimmed a dozen oaks, weed trimmed over an acre, and cut the top off an 80' eucalyptus to prevent it from becoming top-heavy. The crew was hardworking, contentious about avoiding sensitive areas, and cleaned up everything when done. I wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone looking for detailed, professional yard and tree work!

I reached out to Nicholas for a quote on trimming some trees. Initially, he gave me a quote just by looking at a photo I sent, without visiting the site in person. I asked him to come by to assess the job properly, but he declined. He wanted to charge $100 to come and look at the job while other company came the same day to provide quote. His price wasn’t the cheapest, but it was in line with others.

Then he sent me a photo of a contract and asked me to sign it, along with a request for a 10% deposit and 50% payment before starting the work. I told him I wasn't comfortable paying anything upfront when I hadn't even met him. In response, he sent me a screenshot from Google stating that contractors can charge a maximum of 10% as a deposit. He interpreted this as a legal requirement to charge 10%, deposit before the work starts which was not accurate.

He also asked for my email but never followed up with the actual contract. At that point, I decided to go with another licensed company.

The other company came by in person, discussed the job thoroughly, and explained the potential challenges. Their quote was slightly higher than Nicholas’s, but I appreciated their professionalism and decided to go with them. I informed Nicholas of my decision.

In response, Nicholas sent me a racist message implying that people of my race don’t like to spend money. I was shocked and disturbed to receive such a comment—especially from someone who may be an immigrant themselves. I’ve lived in the U.S. for 40 years, and this was the first time someone made a racial remark like that to me.

I’ve attached screenshots of our text exchange to share my experience. I thought it was important for others to know about regarding the poor business practices and racist comments.

Also, the response of the owner says he got frightened due to haggling. I asked him if he could do it for $1300 vs $1500 which he quoted. Then I agreed to what he suggested $1400 (see photo). Not sure what is there to be frightened (may be because of my race !!). Anyway, I wish he will change his thinking and be more open rather than categorizing people by their race.

Excellent service. Cleaning up downed trees and cutting them up into firewood. Also sold us additional firewood. Highly recommend!

Fantastic! A day of clearing brush, tree work, chipping and removal, the day started with them taking exceptional care in parking their equipment, they were as cautious and observant as they were expeditious, that care extended throughout the day, carefully saving the plants and trees we wanted saved, spotting and saving a couple of other good ones that were so deeply buried in the overgrowth we didn't even know they were there, doing the work at a pace so quick it made my head spin, at the end of the day leaving the place immaculate. Nicolas and his team are thoughtful, quick, easy to work with, and just plain good at the work.

Professional tree service and removal from this team. They come when they say. They clean up well afterwards.They are prompt, work hard like a well oiled machine. Personable. I would definitely hire them again.

Nicolas and his crew trimmed our gigantic live oak where some parts of the tree were dying and pruned the shape. They cut the wood to 18 inches so we can use it for firewood and cleared up all the brush and swept. Leaving everything neat and clean. They did a fantastic job at a good price. I would recommend them strongly to anyone who needs tree work.

We had Nicolas and his crew back a year later to take down the whole tree which died anyway, despite the great job they had done before. Again they did a fantastic, professional job at a good price, cleaning up after themselves and leaving everything looking great. I would definitely recommend them to anyone who wants tree work done, or indeed, I would trust Nicolas to do any of the other services he provides, like concrete or decking.

I was quoted a price of $5k to clear 1/2 + acre of 4 years of brush overgrowth, Half of which was on a hillside. Came out 4 days later. His team completed in one day. Looks great! 👍🏻

Nick was my mom’s landscaper for at least the past 10 years. Her yard was incredible and Nick did a lovely job. When she passed away, we started working together directly. Beyond the landscaping maintenance, I relied on him to put up a new section of fence and repair lattice, gates and even cabinets to prepare the home for listing. He did quality work, reasonable rates and it was done promptly. I can’t thank Nick enough for all he did to help me during a very difficult time. I would recommend him to others in the La Selva beach area. Thank you Nick!
