Kimberly was my first contact and she is perfect in what she does. She set me up with the appointment, kept me informed when the girls would be there and they arrived on time and after a walk through--I liked that--they went right to work. They worked quietly, consistently, and the job was done professionally with added surprises of places cleaned that I had not even thought of. Very impressed and will be using A-1 Cleaning Services again.

These ladies were AWESOME!!! We had them do a deep cleaning which I thought it was impossible, well Claudia comes in with her crew and do magic to this two-story home that we just bought. They were on time and she would communicate with us. The work they did is amazing very professional. I definitely will hire them to do our other house and possibly monthly services. The A-1 team is professional, friendly, and leaves my house looking good and smelling great. We have a 2-story home with 6 kids and our house gets DIRTY! After our cleaning all the surfaces are clean, the kitchen looks great and the bathrooms are so nice! I am so thankful for Kim and her team. We recently bought a property here in Bakersfield and had a lot of work done on it. They even pointed out things that needed cleaning that I overlooked. I read a previous review someone wrote on here saying the girls wasted time talking to each other. That was not the case! I saw these girls hustle and the only talking I heard between them was work related. I'm glad I went with A1 cleaning! I was looking for a cleaning service that is available on weekends and this company was able to accommodate my schedule. Communication was great from start to finish. Kimberly took her time to explain to me how the company works and the price breakdown. She didn't rush me or sound impatient. A-1 Cleaning Services is licensed and professional. Kimberly runs a very efficient business. Great communication throughout the project. From my initial inquiry, she responded quickly and provided a thorough description of the services available, terms, and timeline.

Her staff, led by Addy, was pleasant and the crew of four worked for over seven hours and cleaned my parents vacant house to include windows, walls, ceiling fans, floors, window coverings, mopped the entire garage/workshop, cleaned refrigerator and all appliances. In addition, they went out of their way to rent equipment and shampoo the rooms with carpet. I cannot recommend this business higher.

A-1 Cleaning is top notch. I requested a deep clean service on Saturday and a team was at my house on Monday morning. My house hadn’t had a deep clean in 26 years and was in dire need of help. The cleaning team worked a hard 7 hours and now my house is clean, refreshed and smells amazing. I have come to a point in my life, it is too hard to vacuum and dust every weekend. Getting up and down onto the floor is just too hard. I reached out, to be truthful, on a lark, to see if a maid service would be something I can do. A-1 sent a team to my house and gave me a quote. A-1 worked within my budget, which is tight. That team came today for the first time. The dust is gone (to be real for about an hour cuz I live in Bakersfield). The carpets are vacuumed. The floors are mopped. The bathrooms are clean. I am leaving this review not because of the move-out cleaning itself (as that is still to be determined and this will review will be updated accordingly, if necessary), but because of the deeply unprofessional, coercive, and ethically sloppy conduct of the owner/manager, Kimberly Gonzalez.

I paid $150 upfront as agreed. Prior to the job, I was explicit—in writing—about my maximum budget and that any flexibility was conditional on being informed beforehand. Instead, once the team was already on site, the price began to escalate in real time.

First, I was told the total needed to increase to $250 (an additional $100 over the $150 already paid). When I objected—because this exceeded what we had discussed—I was then pressured for “at least $50 more,” framed as unavoidable because the workers were “overtime” and the clock was running. In other words: the terms changed after work had begun, and my consent was treated as irrelevant.

The justification for this escalation was frankly bizarre. I was suddenly informed that the kitchen sink “drained straight to the bottom,” implying a plumbing issue—and then implicitly accused of previously managing this with a bucket or bowl. Let me be clear: I have been accused of many things in my life, but secretly concealing a fictional plumbing failure with a bucket is not one of them. There was no known sink issue, and in any case, plumbing problems are not a cleaning surcharge, nor are they something a customer should be financially ambushed over mid-job.

What followed crossed from unprofessional into coercive. I was repeatedly told that if I did not immediately pay more, Ms. Gonzalez would have to “come out of pocket,” that there was “no time to go back and forth,” and that payment later was not acceptable—despite the fact that the back-and-forth was initiated solely because the business changed the price after the service was underway. I was even asked who the homeowner was, an irrelevant and inappropriate question in context.

At one point, Ms. Gonzalez explicitly stated that she does not care about bad reviews because she has plenty of good ones. So, respectfully: if you don’t care, then here it is.

Small businesses deserve support. Workers deserve to be paid. What customers do not deserve is to be pressured into paying more than agreed upon, blamed for unrelated household issues, and emotionally cornered into compliance while being told their prior boundaries no longer matter.

I ultimately paid the additional amount simply to end the interaction.

If you choose this company, understand this clearly:

— The initial price is not final once workers arrive
— New “issues” may appear without advance notice
— Budget ceilings may be disregarded mid-job
— Communication becomes pressurized and inappropriate

Proceed with caution.

A-1 Cleaning services did an amazing job on my home cleaning. They were able to accommodate same-day service and had incredible attention to detail. I tend to be a “picky” customer and I had ZERO complaints. Their attention to detail was unmatched. Kimberly, followed up with me the next day making sure everything was okay. I am very happy with their cleaning services. I will continue using this company for all my cleaning needs.
