San Diego County Solar was highly recommended by two of my colleagues. SDCS were very professional at each stage of the process from bid through installation and start-up. SDCS met all their obligations and kept me well informed of necessary changes from bid through final installation and turn-on. Their installation staff was professional and respected my property and my needs. I highly recommend SDCS.

Mike & his team came highly recommended by a number of friends who had used SD County Solar. They lived up to the hype. My husband had a particular concern about the method most of our neighbors' homes were using for mounting the panels. Mike did research and discussed options with him. We settled on "portrait" method, which costs more but is less likely to cause leaks long term. The point is: Mike will listen to you and research your questions, if needed. Then he will discuss and help you make the best decision. It has been several months since installation and we are very happy with SD Solar and with our savings, and feel good about doing the green thing.

We had a thoroughly professional - and enjoyable - experience with The San Diego County Solar team. The owner, Mike Davidson, gave us down-to-earth answers to all our questions, and the installation team was a great bunch. All our electricity last year was essentially free; with only 8 panels, we paid SDG&E about thirty bucks.

Our solar inverter broke during the hot summer. Although it is still within the warranty period, but the installation company, which promised to take care of the parts and labor in case of failure, doesn't exist anymore, leaving us with such a distress. I was referred to Seth by friends that he had worked with previously. Being a new home owner and with no prior experience with solar, I really appreciated the time and care Seth took to explain everything to me and to work through a plan that worked best for me based on my needs. Seth is extremely knowledgeable and a really pleasant guy to work with. I wanted to finance the bulk of the cost and Seth helped me understand how to go through that process as well. My solar system has been functioning now for 3-4 months perfectly and I am already seeing big benefits. I cannot recommend Seth enough - he’s 5 star in all respects.

Very much a "you get what you pay for" industry, I got what I paid for with San Diego County Solar. SDCS did quality work for our home and took care of the details (read: I didn't have to submit any permits/requests to SDGE). Even their referrals network was top notch. We had a 6.8kw system installed Q2 2022.

I was so happy/impressed with the entire project that I referred them to the rest of the friends and family. My brother-in-law is already under contract and more to come.

Seth Tilley and San Diego County Solar did a fantastic job with our installation, even with the added challenges of a global pandemic and a clay tile roof. The team worked with us to estimate our current and expected future needs, found a great spot for the panels, handled all the permitting, had us up and running quickly, and stayed responsive as we worked out the kinks. The installation looks great and has been running smoothly.

After closing the deal with Seth, we met his installation crew who were a delight to work with - friendly, professional, instructive. They really seemed to enjoy their jobs. The communication was excellent from day one. The finished work on the side of the house was neat and polished. After firing up the system, Seth spent some time educating me about the online app for monitoring energy production. After researching and talking to several solar companies, I chose San Diego County Solar because of their top-notch professionalism and communication.

Some companies said that I could fit more panels on my south-facing roof without even visiting my home (these companies just used an aerial view of my house). But SDCS went up on my roof and took various measurements with their gadgets. Then, they honestly said that shade from trees would limit the number of panels.

I was about to give up on going solar, but they offered various ideas to meet my electrical needs. The in-house installers also were careful in how they mounted the panels to avoid any roof leaks, sealing the panel attachments at two levels: the roof underlayment AND the tiles. That kind of attention to detail won me over.

I selected San Diego County Solar after a tedious search and several consultations with other solar system installers. Seth was responsive to my many questions and concerns as I was going through the selection process, even calculating several scenarios of future electric use vs. system size options for our house. Attention to detail with the installation and respect for the cosmetic appearance was wonderful! The installation staff is detailed making sure electric conduits were inside the attic and any exterior ones were painted to match the house siding. The team even went above and beyond to reinstall the vinyl paneling around the electric panel, after upgrading it.
Seth is extremely knowledgeable, which is reflected is the customer experience. He personally followed the permitting and installation processes and offered to continue to explain billing changes to our SDGE bill as we get used to using the system.

We were very lucky in that we were the fourth household in our greater circle of friends to decide to get solar. By the time it came to us, three other families had already gotten solar through San Diego County Solar and all had glowing reviews, which saved us a lot of research and fretting about choosing the right provider. Seth was very helpful and friendly from the start, helping us determine our power needs both currently and planning for the future so we could get a system that best fit our house. Upon inspection, they worked with us to find the right place to put everything that worked for the system and for our own needs. Roy was very helpful in communicating timetables and coordinating scheduling with the roofing contractor. We had a last minute design change the required resubmitting our plans to the city for approval, but they whole team worked around it to make sure the install happened on time and Permission to Operate inspection was scheduled as soon as possible. Despite the work being done and them already having our money, Seth has even been helpful as we monitor the app and have questions about how it works and how to read all the data. As with the friends before us, we heartily recommend San Diego County Solar to anyone looking for solar in the greater county area (and already have; another set of friends is already in the planning stages with them!).
