Mover reviews in Clovis, California

Meathead movers are GREAT at loading and unloading boxes and furniture. They're very friendly, fast and efficient when it comes to that. Nearly every piece of furniture was wrapped in a moving blanket and nothing was scratched. All of our wall art and TV's were carefully packed and arrived in perfect shape. But I do NOT recommend them for packing your boxes! We hired them to pack our entire house on 3/10/26. They left many things unpacked that day and the crew who came to load everything the next day had to finish the packing. The young man who packed our kitchen did a great job, better than I would have done. Nothing was broken when we unpacked the boxes and every box was labeled correctly and thoroughly. But the rest of the house was packed horribly! Random items from separate rooms were put together in the same box. Some breakable items weren't even wrapped. The huge wardrobe boxes were used for very big and heavy items instead of our clothes. And some of our clothes that were on hangers were just shoved in boxes with other things without being folded. Some of our curtains were wadded up and used in a box like packing paper, making them extremely wrinkled. My mattress pad was wadded up and shoved in a box that was way too small and the box wasn't even closed! (See photo.) Many of the boxes weren't labeled at all, and some were actually labeled incorrectly, so when they were unloaded, they were placed in the wrong room, making us look for days to find our things. We have had to open every single box to figure out where it belongs. We have moved several times, but we have never seen such a sloppy packing job! My teenagers packed better than these guys did! We have been in our new home for a week now, and we're still trying to find things. If you plan to pack your own boxes, these guys are great at moving them. But when it comes to packing, they need some serious training! Very disappointed!
Official response from representative 20.08.2026 17:44Thank you for taking the time to share such detailed feedback. We’re glad to hear that our moving team handled your furniture, TVs, artwork, and belongings with care and that your kitchen was packed so well. However, we’re very disappointed that the rest of the packing service did not meet that same standard. Boxes should be packed and labeled in a way that protects your belongings and makes the unpacking process easier, not more difficult. We appreciate you bringing these specific concerns to… -
On arrival they asked what needed to be done. I explained and showed them what needed to be moved and what I was taking and they got right to it. It was so smooth mind you I had to go to two different locations before we got to the final destination. They were professional took really good care of my items as they were moving them courteous polite. And asked if there was anything needed to be moved and was there anything else that need to be done . I highly recommend it is so worth the money truly a piece of mind and no stress.
Official response from representative 24.11.2025 20:05Happy to have removed the stress of moving for you! -
We had Meatheads movers move us from Fairwinds to our home on the 13th of Sept. These wonderful young men did an awesome job by being very careful to prepare all moved items before transport and gave the same gentle care to delivery. We would recommend them to anyone wanting quality movers.
Ron & Kathy RittenburgOfficial response from representative 18.09.2025 15:34Hello Kathy, thank you for sharing your kind words regarding your recent move. We sincerely appreciate your trust in our services and your intention to let us serve you again in the future. If there is anything we can do to assist you in the future, please don't hesitate to reach out. It was a pleasure working with you. -
Worst moving experience, and we have used 2 other moving companies in the last 7 years. Meathead Movers sent 3 movers (one mentor and 2 inexperienced movers). The initial estimated moving time was 3-4 hours, they eventually took NINE hours (and included the one hour lunchtime when they were resting; which we bought complimentary lunch for the movers, but they decided to charge us one hour of moving cost ($400 hourly rate). They also dropped 3 boxes on the ground from the handtruck; we have still yet to
examine the inside of boxes for broken glass or damaged electronics.
We had just moved to Fresno three months ago and used another moving company called Yolo Moving Company, who only took four hours to load AND unload the same amount of furniture and belongings: We have the SAME amount of belongings, if not less, since we donated a whole truckload of furniture since then a month ago. The movers were inexperienced and were so slow that it took them nine hours to move to a house 2 blocks away. The initial estimated time was 3-4 hours and the estimated cost was $1300, maximum $1600. After nine hours they told us that the price would be increased to $2300. The next morning I get a bill for $2700. That is UNETHICAL business practice for sending unprofessional and inexperienced movers, and upcharging us extra time because they don't know how to pack, load and unload. If Yolo Moving Company only took four hours, why is Meathead Movers needing nine hours to pack and pack the same amount of belongings? Also the final bill we got was doubled of what the estimated cost was ($2700 instead of $1300). We were also generous and gracious enough to buy lunch for all 3 movers, free of charge, and in exchange, they decide to charge us an extra 1 hour for lunchtime, which is $400/ hour. I think the rest of the community and other clients need to know about this before they book this company. I think Better Business Bureau needs to know about this unethical business practice. It's a rip off and money stealing. -
We were scheduled to move on Friday at 11 am. We received a call at 11:15 notifying us that their workers had all called in sick. We were rescheduled for following day, 3 of the 4 workers showed up. Ricardo "lead supervisor" came in stating what he was not going to move instead of saying what they could move. We had a very clear list that was submitted to the company of was scheduled to move. But not according to Ricardo he definitely was not going to move items that were on the list. This worker was very unprofessional with a big ugly attitude. I definitely would not Trust nor let any of this company's employees in my home. They are unreliable, disrespectful, and very unprofessional.
Official response from representative 04.09.2025 15:14Hi Gabrielle and James, First and foremost, we sincerely apologize that we were not able to meet your expectations. We understand how frustrating and disappointing this must have been. We are sorry that sick personnel and an item that was outside our expertise led to the delays and inconvenience this caused. -
Extremely Disappointed - Unprofessional and Stressful Experience
We scheduled movers for 7/18 at 11:00 AM. No one showed up, and we didn't receive a call until 11:15--only to be told the crew had called in sick. The move was rescheduled for the next day, 7/19. When the team finally arrived, the lead mover, Ricardo, was shockingly unprofessional. Rather than offering solutions or assessing what could be moved, he was confrontational, raised his voice, and focused on what he wouldn't do. His tone and attitude were dismissive and completely inappropriate--you could tell he had no interest in being there. The team ultimately walked out on us, leaving the job unfinished and us completely stuck. I missed two days of work trying to coordinate with this company, only to be met with poor communication, zero accountability, and a complete lack of professionalism. Moving is already stressful--this experience made it far worse. The staff clearly needs training in basic customer service and respectful communication. I would not recommend this company.Official response from representative 04.09.2025 15:16Hi Gabrielle and James, First and foremost, we sincerely apologize that we were not able to meet your expectations. We did not have a good experience with Meathead Movers. For one, the sales office did not give the movers big enough trucks to move all of our stuff. We moved from Visalia to Reedley and I had a make multiple trips between those cities on moving day to get all of our stuff to our new house. We also needed the help of family and friends to haul about 5 or 6 truckloads of stuff to our house. The movers just left the stuff behind for us to move.
They also left some rather large and important items off of the priority list (which we specified on the video walkthrough no less!) so we had to call the sales office to get authorization for them to move those items.
Also, while the movers were friendly and mostly did a good job, they still broke two pieces of furniture, one of which was my desk which I use for work.
And in spite of all that, they still charged us the maximum rate for the day.
We filed claims for the furniture they broke, we will see if any of that gets covered.
Unfortunately, I would not recommend this company, they really need to get their act together.Official response from representative 03.07.2025 17:57Ross, I am so sorry to hear your experience with Meathead Movers was anything less than exceptional. It is unfortunate the damage occurred on your move and we are eager to resolve this claim. I am aware that our operations team has received the photos' of the damage that was sent yesterday 7/2/25. We are also looking into the virtual estimate you completed with our move coordinator. I appreciate your patience during the claims process, and it is my goal to offer several solutions from you to ch… -
Very disappointed. Had come highly recommended and at first seemed eager to assist. Ended up leaving us completely desperate bc we had less than 24 hours to find someone to move our daughter from her college home. (we live over 400 miles away). The communication was terrible and we waited hours just to have them cancel (well past the proposed window of arrival). Honestly the prices were high so in the end the company we used was cheaper and saved us in a jam (on Father's Day). Additionally this company sells your contact data to "partner" companies even if you say you don't need those services, my spam calls escalated within 24 hours of filling out their form.

This review of a one star is strictly based on the operations/communication side of the company. The movers themselves were fantastic!
We were getting quotes a month ago when we found out we were moving. We spoke to a rep named Marc and spent about 45min on the phone call. My husband specifically stated that I was pregnant therefore we want to hire someone who will PACK and move us. We spent 45 min going through inventory of our entire home. The rep, Marc explained how the main things we needed to do were to take pictures down, and move breakables that we didn't want to risk getting broken. He stated they have specific dish boxes that will carry and transport our dishes. We double checked the quote and signed. It stated they were bringing 76 boxes with them on the inventory in our quote. Moving day comes.... The movers get there and state they only move boxes that were previously packed. My husband and I spent the next 6 hours off and on the phone with the manager Jordan. He was unhelpful. He states we didn't pay for the "box bundle". We had never even heard that term. Marc never mentioned that term on the phone. Per Jordan and 2 other reps I spoke with on the phone that day that were also not helpful stated "oh yeah you didn't buy the box bundle" and claimed they would listen to the recorded conversation my husband had with Marc for the original quote. No one was answering our questions, honestly no one seemed to care. I don't even think anyone listened to the true conversation because every time I brought up specific phrases that my husband asked and Marc responded to all they said was "it's a misunderstanding". I was very upset, I was 32 weeks pregnant at the time and had to go back and forth to my old house and finish packing my
House for the next week because the job wasn't done. One of the reps said he would try and get that cost covered and send out someone to get the rest of our stuff, then my husband called another rep and they said no they can't do that. The communication or LACK of was so unprofessional. The manager Jordan did not once try and make it right or help the situation. I even sent him the quote to read and he had no answer for me. We ended up having to pay the max amount until my husband called after he wrote the check saying we could get a little bit off since they didn't even move the amount of boxes Marc quoted us at. Horrible experience. Never will we use this company again.Official response from representative 20.05.2025 16:03Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts. We value all feedback as it helps us improve our services, and I’m sorry to hear that your recent experience wasn’t what you expected. After reviewing the details of your move, I wanted to clarify some points regarding our conversation and the services provided. During the call, Mark specifically mentioned that we would be bringing out TV boxes and wardrobe boxes, and you mentioned that you planned to pack most of the items in the kids' roo… -
We used Meatmovers in our move on July 3rd 2024 and they did a horrible job. They said they would send 8 guys and sent 4 guys. One of the guys said no one wanted to work so they were short handed. They arrived late and took so so long and didn't arrive to the new house less than a mile away until 6:00pm and were tired and throwing our pillows for the outdoor furniture on the ground and left several things on the curb outside. They didn't leave unit 10:00 pm. They quoted a price and charged us $2,000 over the quote and then to top it off broke at least $10,000.00 worth of expensive pots, crystal, 2 mirrors, some outdoor figurines and the list goes on. I called at least 10 times to speak to a manager and they never got back to me, they gave me a complete run around. Finally I spoke to someone to get a claims form to file a claim for all the damage and broken items and they still haven't acknowledged the certified mail forms I mailed back. Next I will contact our attorney. I do not recommend them. I have never made a complaint on yelp but I had to so no one else will be treated this way.
Official response from representative 20.07.2024 18:12Hello Gina, we are so sorry your experience with Meathead Movers was anything less than exceptional. We have reviewed your service, and the crew assigned to your move was not shorted movers. You were quoted for two trucks and four movers. Meathead Movers prioritizes transparency and trustworthy communication in Not to Exceed pricing. We do not have surprise fees. The crew did take longer to execute your service due to the heat and onsite moving. The original Not to Exceed pricing was honored. W… -
Garret and Jovan did amazing helping out with our move to the new place and helping putting things together
-
They did an amazing job, very professional and kind. They were efficient and worked promptly. Always love using Meathead Movers.
-
The move was easy and stress free. Highly recommended. All three movers did great. Definitely took the max time for the move.
-
Had a virtual appointment for a quote, they never sent the link for the appointment. We called them an hr and a half after the appointment time and no answer finally received a call from them 2 hrs after the scheduled appointment time
Official response from representative 10.05.2024 16:38Hello Paul, we are so sorry your experience with the quote process was less than exemplary. We recently integrated a new system to sync appointments in our calendars with our Customer Relationship Management software. Some appointments were unsuccessful in creating orders in our system; therefore, some appointments slipped through the cracks. We thank you for your feedback. Your experience has been addressed to ensure our clients do not have this same experience. We have yet to find you in our… -
Jordan and Alex were fantastic. They were polite, professional, and got the job done. No delays-no drama-and a very fair price. Meathead Movers of Fresno gets our full recommendation.

I had to have two trucks only 24 ft and the second day move was better then the first day! These young boys were inexperienced and couldn't fit my whole 2 bd 1 ba and garage in one move as the truck was too small!
This inventory crap is ridiculous as this is how they charge more money!
I wouldn't recommend a large move with this company period! They scratched my furniture and set it down in the rain and destroyed the legs on my credenza!! Very disappointedOfficial response from representative 02.01.2024 20:20Hello Dianna, thank you for your feedback. We apologize if your experience with Meathead Movers was anything less than exceptional. While reviewing your service, including the conversations with your Move Coordinator, it was proven that there were several additional items requested to be moved on the day of your service that had yet to be communicated to our team prior. The movers were able to accommodate the change to your service and moved the additional items. It was a tight squeeze, as they… -
We used Meathead movers for the second time today for our move in Clovis and are totally satisfied!!! They kept clear communication throughout the entire day. Asked questions if they had them and doubled checked how and where I wanted things. Were very polite and appreciative of the water and lunch we provided to them. They went above and beyond helping with things that may not have been in the original contract but clearly things we needed help with. They kept asking if there was anything else they could do. They told us up front what the maximum charge would be and since we fully expected to pay the full price, which anyone should, we were pleasantly surprised when it wasn't quite as much as we thought. Worth every single penny. And will use again if we need to.

Called this company just to move furniture from my upstairs to downstairs. They were able to come the very next day. The employees were very professional and did the job quickly.

I do not recommend using Meathead Movers. They did not send a person to my home to develop the estimate for the move which resulted in serious issues on moving day. The lead mover informed me that many items were not included in the estimate so the cost would be increased. About an hour later he told me he didn't think all of my belongings would fit in the truck they sent and there was not another truck available so they would move the rest of my stuff the next day. I told him I needed everything out of the house that day since escrow was closing the next day. A couple of hours later the lead told me they had secured another truck so everything could be moved. This was hardly the stress free senior citizen move I had been promised. When the trucks arrived at my moving destination, there were 6 movers and two trucks. Because the lower level of the house was being remodeled, everything needed to be placed on the second floor or in the garage. It was impossible for me to monitor all 6 movers to ensure boxes and furniture were placed appropriately. The trucks were emptied, my belongings stacked 3-4 boxes high in a bedroom with one pathway so I could not access most of the boxes. Multiple boxes marked fragile had one or two other boxes stacked on top of them. The garage was a disorganized mess. For example, next day I discovered my dvd player sideways in a plastic trash can in the garage along with a pair of gardening loppers and a dust pan. I was exhausted and frustrated by the time the trucks were emptied and just wanted the moving team gone. The lead did not suggest that we walk through my home to ensure everything was placed appropriately and at that point I did not think to request that. I knew it was a mess and knew that at that hour of the evening, it wasn't going to get fixed. After the movers left, I went to make my bed. I discovered the frame was not fully assembled and that the adjustable mattress had been placed upside down so it could not be plugged in. I called the next day, sending pictures to the gentleman I spoke with, to demonstrate the problems. I was treated as if I was being unreasonable but it was agreed a team would be sent the following afternoon to fix the bed/mattress issue and spend no more than 15 minutes rearranging boxes so that I could access them which was done. I ended up hiring someone to come in to help me with lifting and moving the boxes/items I couldn't lift since the company felt no responsibility to remedy the situation. I know this is a long review but the move was a nightmare experience for me. I sent an e mail and hard copy letter to the company CEO about the problems I experienced and received no reply. Hire someone else!

Whatever you DO NOT even remotely consider hiring this company! Everything they advertise is completely misleading from helping to move victims of Domestic Violence/Stalking for free to ensuring your items are loaded and moved in a professional manner free from damage upon arrival at your new destination. My son and I were both victims of stalking and made Meathead Movers aware of this upon the initial consultation. We offered to show any documentation needed to support our claim police reports (at least 30) etc. but they completely disregarded anything we had to say about our situation. I am a single 58 year old mother with an 18 year old child victims of such a horrific stalking situation they were throwing dog feces at our home, literally running my son off the road crashing into him attacking him physically and verbally in restaurants, stores etc. so much so I literally uprooted my entire life of 50 years in California to a state clear across the other side of the map just to save my baby's life. Meatheads did not give a hoot and offered nothing not a discount NOTHING! Proving everything they say in regards to helping Domestic Violence victims a big fat lie! They also showed how not only greedy they are but heartless as well. They loaded my belongings into our storage POD completely unprofessional loading our light totes on the bottom and heavy totes on top thereby causing the totes to shift and cave in causing damage to our headboard and an angel that was given to my son by his late grandfather. When sending in proof of the damage their response was, "Oh it's only cosmetic there is nothing we can do." Try telling that to an 18 year old child who has just been driven out of his home state by a stalker who was devastated already. He literally cried when seeing the finger broke off of an heirloom that may have not meant anything to Meatheads but meant the world to my son. They also disassembled my 4,000.00 treadmill exposing the motor scattering all the screws about (they did that with everything by the way) who does that and call themselves professional? All hardware is supposed to be taped on whatever it came off of. This company stands for anything but honesty and integrity like they try to portray more like deceptive, greedy and taking advantage of people by charging an arm and a leg for shoddy work. That's the whole purpose for hiring movers is so your stuff doesn't get all banged up. If you value your belongings don't trust these people with your stuff as they will not replace what they damage.
Official response from representative 29.09.2023 23:09Hello Brenda, we are so sorry your experience with Meathead Movers was not what you expected. We appreciate your feedback and apologize our team wasn’t clear on how we manage emergency moves for victims of domestic violence. Meathead Movers partners with eight domestic violence shelters throughout the state of California to vet moves for victims of domestic violence. Your feedback is a serious reminder for our team on the importance of connecting our clients with our partners and resources to m…
