*update* I changed my rating from a 1 star to 5 because I called the company and left a detailed message to the receptionist and clearly it made it to the right person! Obviously, there is still a bit of noise, it is a construction zone after all. However, it didn't sound like a frat party! I gave them 5 stars because they got the message then took action to correct it. The site supervisor also went door to door giving the neighborhood his business with his cell for any future questions or concerns. Clearly, they have wonderful leadership! This company is doing a project behind my house, they are loud and very vulgar starting super early in the morning. All my windows stay closed while they are working and I can still hear them talking about disgusting things in mornings word for word. They smoke right on the other side of my fence and throw garbage into my back yard! Very unprofessional company! I can't even let my children play in their back yard! I can only imagine what they would learn.

MAK is great to work with. My house is old and I requested they keep to that appearance when creating the addition. Truly you can’t tell where the 1928 part ends and the new begins. From wainscoting to 6 over 1 windows they know their stuff. I was assigned Tyler as my project manager. He has an unbelievable work ethic and his energy and creativity matched my own. All the folks that work there are trust worthy and they vouch for their subcontractors which is nice when you are leaving the house. I would highly recommend this group!
Not only are these folks the best at remodeling, but they follow through way after the fact. Recently, we misplaced the canvas bag for the laundry hamper installed by MAK Design as part of some fairly extensive remodeling they did back in 2018. Having some difficulty locating a replacement, I contacted Ken and a replacement was hand-delivered by Jon- no charge. Thanks, Ken, Jon, and Anthony (who knew where to look). Highly recommended.
Our 1990s kitchen and family room needed a major update. The remodel had to be done right because it would define our home for the next 20 years and be the place we’d end up spending half our time when at home. For those reasons, we chose to work with MAK, and we’re 100% happy with that decision. From the initial planning to the last finishing touches, everything was done professionally and to the highest standard. What we especially appreciated is their transparency and responsiveness: everything from pricing to timeline is explained clearly, all our questions were promptly answered, and all our concerns were addressed quickly and cheerfully. A really important plus of working with MAK is that they clearly know and hire the best people in every area of design and construction, from painting to cabinetry to flooring. Everyone at MAK is a pro, but we especially want to highlight our designer, Anthony Anderson, lead carpenter Robert, production manager Jon, project coordinator Karen, and last but certainly not least, owner Ken Kirsch.
This review (by Lisa and Galen) has been on our back burner for too long, so we finally wanted to belatedly express our joy and gratitude to the entire MAK team for a wonderful master bathroom remodel! We thoroughly enjoyed working with the design team of Diana and Madelyn who helped us think outside of our narrow thought-box while simultaneously meeting every one of our wants and needs (increasing storage, maximizing overhead spaces, reconfiguring the layout, using beautiful ceramic tile, creating a floating bamboo-wood vanity, etc.). Their attention to detail made everything run quite smoothly, and their use of the "Buildertrend" scheduling and payment website kept us up to date on daily activities, itemized charges and payments. Keith, our project manager, was extremely knowledgeable, helpful and understanding, and he briefed us weekly on their progress and on any issues or setbacks that needed our attention. He and his team also displayed impressive craftsmanship throughout the entire remodel, and they effortlessly installed new support beams and joist for the reconfigured space and expertly built custom shelves for our high ceiling closet and oddly shaped water closet. The only downside to using MAK was the cost: they were not cheap. We ended up spending approximately 25-30% over the original estimated cost of the project. Yet, we were not complaining since the changes were extensive (moved toilet/water closet, new curbless walk-in shower, new floating vanity/sinks, etc., which all require major underground plumbing work), the expertise of each subcontractor was stellar (especially the tile guy), and the whole process (design, fixtures selection, permits, demolition, waste removal, outdoor porta-potty, selecting/scheduling subcontractors, the entire build, etc.) was done with meticulous planning and foresight. In the end, we got exactly what we wanted and more! Thanks again MAK for our new and glorious zen bathroom, and we're eager to have you remodel our kitchen in the near future!
