We had our lighting updated to replace all of our old and corroded lights, Joel and his team came in, updated our design, and made our front and backyard come alive. Highly respectful, courteous and efficient, the people at LD are true professionals and provided great service. The lights are high quality and we continue to call them to add more lighting as we acquire more plants and trees. I would definitely recommend them to everyone.

Two months ago Josh and his team finished a project to light our entire large property. We had an outstanding experience working with Lighting Distinctions! Joel has a passion for outdoor lighting and is very creative in finding the best method to light both the landscape and hardscape in ways that really shows it off. Joel, the owner, and his team are so professional to work with. I had my front and backyard done with beautiful lighting. My house is the stand out of my neighborhood. Most important is, that as soon as a problem occurred , Joel was out here taking care of it in a day or two. I had my yard done in 2022 and never had a problem that wasn't taken care of immediately. He is ALWAYS nice about it. I think that is very important these days, someone who stands by their work. I'm sure they do Christmas lighting too, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

The personalization that we received from Lighting Distinctions is what sealed the deal for us on choosing a company to install our outdoor lighting. The entire team was present (Stephanie, Joel and Mauricio) during our initial meeting. They offered us different options for the lighting and also brought the sample lights out at night to show us exactly what we were buying. This level of customer service was what made us choose Lighting Distinctions. They went even a step further because the brand of path light we choose was on back order, but that did not stop them from doing the install. They installed a different brand of path light that was available until ours came in. As soon as our original lights were available, they came out and replaced our lights with the "borrowed" ones. The pricing was as expected for the level of quality we were receiving. I would highly recommend this company.

Stephanie and Mauricio did an outstanding job installing our new exterior stair lights. They were communicative, organized, punctual, and handled any issues that came up with professionalism and ease. They truly went above and beyond to ensure the project was completed seamlessly. Honest and reliable -very fair prices. The owner Joel answers the phone or calls your right back. Joel convinced our 94 unit apartment complex to go with LED lights. What a great recommendation. We have saved money on our electric bill and already made back the amount it has cost us to switch things out. It is so hard these days to find reliable vendors. I really love our new permanent Holiday lighting installation from Lighting Distinctions. We went with the Gemstone system that is incredibly bright and colorful. The app is easy to use and offers a ton of pre-programmed options as well as making it straightforward to create your own patterns. Joel and the installers from Lighting Distinctions were great to work with. A clean installation is key to making the final product "invisible" during the day and dazzling at night. The installers were very meticulous in ensuring that all corners and transitions were precise and seamless. The installation of the controller box and associated wiring was also extremely professional, you need a flashlight and determination to find any trace of the wires. Overall, working with Lighting Distinctions was a very positive experience and I'm looking forward to many years of beautiful, maintenance-free all-occasions lighting.

Our 20 year old Carmel Valley home was ready for a Malibu light refresh and Joel, Stephanie and the Lighting Distinctions team had the exact expertise we were seeking. I highly recommend Joel at Lighting Distinctions! My landscape project was a labor of love and I wanted to illuminate our outdoor space to be able to enjoy it at night, to not only install functional pathway lighting along the edges of the winding secret pathways I had created, but also to create a magical ambience. 

The landscape lighting sets the tone enhancing the beauty of our home. I worked with Joel at Lighting Distinctions featuring key elements that I wanted to draw the eye to, using soft lenses to keep the lighting romantic. Our property has magnificent trees that we highlighted with uplights and downlights. We used these trees to create a soft moonlight effect to light up our seating and garden areas. 

With Joesl's expert experience we collaborated  and chose a combination of lighting with his advice, to create the effect I wanted transforming our outdoors from the beauty of the day to the most magical, beautiful place at night, to enjoy, dine and relax for ourselves and guests.

We had the experience to install professional lighting to our landscape 4 years ago. Joel Barnett and team responded to our request for a quote. The team provided a complimentary consultation visit which included a sampling of their ideas that would enhance our place. We worked out a plan that met our needs. We’ve loved the outcome ever since.

Lighting Distinctions did a fantastic job installing our permanent Christmas lights. They use Gemstone brand lighting, which looks beautiful and allows us to change colors for different holidays year-round. The team was responsive, professional, and easy to work with! They even fit us into their schedule quickly. We couldn’t be happier and highly recommend them!

I'm really happy with the quality and professionalism of Lighting Distinctions. Stephanie, the designer, listened to all of my needs and came up with a plan for both front and back yard, including several rounds of changes as we experimented with demo setups. Joel and the team of installers were on time and very thoughtful, and offered great ideas for final tweaks. They came to my house several times just to make sure everything was just right. No ask was too small, and everyone was kind and respectful throughout.

I had no lights at all before, so it was kind of depressingly dark after sunset, and my guests would all come inside during parties. Now it's so beautiful out there that I just want to spend all my summer evenings hanging out -- I basically tripled the usable square footage of my house by creating lit 'rooms' outside.

I'm loving the color-changing lights I put in front of the house: the phone app lets you schedule different colors and brightness for any occasion, so I've got colors for Christmas, St. Patrick's Day, 4th of July, etc. all programmed in.

They only sell the VERY highest-quality lights, so they are pricy, but the full-service installation and long-lasting fixtures should last the life of the home.
