Tree reviews in Encinitas, California

Theron came out and his knowledge and kindness were a breath of fresh air. I found him to be incredibly professional and helpful.
When his crew came out, they were also absolutely great. Good people.

I would recommend Theron and his crew to anyone. Indeed, I have now a couple times and gotten nothing but rave reviews and gratitude from my friends for it

Pro Trees is an excellent and very professional service. Theron, the owner, is an arborist as well as a tree trimmer, so customers get a double benefit. He really knows which types of trees and shrubs do well in various conditions, and they shape the trees very aesthetically and strategically for beauty and safety.. Pro Trees seems to be in high demand (for good reason) so they need to be booked well in advance.

Pro trees did a fabulous job trimming the trees on St. Andrew's campus. We had a wide variety of trees and all were done to perfection for a very reasonable price. They were great to work with as well. Will definitely use this company next time!

Recently pro trees came into my neighborhood for some much needed maintenance. The crews were awesome! They displayed courteous professionalism as only a well knit crew of workers can. They trimmed nicely and with an eye for the best look and health of the trees. Cleanup was impeccable, not a bit of debris was left to offend. Very impressed

Very good service and follow-up. They did a great job on a very difficult large tree and their price was very competitive. Theron is easy to work with and a very knowledgeable arborist. I will use them again for other tree work and recommend them highly.

Outstanding, careful, thoughtful job with proper cleanup. These guys know what they are doing. Not just dudes with saws!

Pro Trees removed a large ficus and laced out several trees for us. It's impossible to tell where the tree was! These people are very efficient and work well together. The owner is very good at evaluating needs and his crew does the right job. We will continue to work with Pro Trees indefinitely. Highly recommended.

Pro trees did an amazing job trimming a beloved tree in my front yard. They were prompt, answered my questions and shaped the tree beautifully. I wanted a arborist to trim the tree and they provided excellent care and value. Would definitely use them again and highly recommend them to everyone!!

Outstanding work by the best in the business at a very competitive price
I've been in North Encinitas, Leucadia since 1976 and I can assure you this company is the best! They are fully licensed and bonded and their well trained staff's work is overseen by a certified arborist. Their staff, from Theron, to their office staff, all the way down, are great to work with. They appear to enjoy their work and the finished product reflects their passion for Trees! After all they are in fact just what their name implies, PRO-Trees! The company has been around for 44+ years and have an excellent reputation! They trimmed several of my overgrown trees and my landscape was well protected and left undamaged, just as they found it, with one big change: my overgrown trees were professionally trimmed by one of, if not THE BEST in the business and now they look great. As another reviewer wrote: their staff work very well together. They are very efficient indeed. I most highly recommend them!

Really happy with my experience. They were a little hard to book with at first but I exercised some patience and I’m glad I did. Starbuck (arborist) came out and did a great job excavating the root collar of my tangerine tree - I was worried about my plants nearby and landscape since it’s brand new and he protected everything and cleaned up really well afterwards. Then I got an email later in the day giving me information about next steps on caring for my tree. Really happy I went with them and if my citrus trees are struggling in the future I will call them again.

I have been using Pro Trees for the last 3 years to trim the trees in my yard and they have been great! Always on time, very professional and they do an incredible job at a very reasonable price. Would highly recommend using them for any tree services you need!

Theron and his crew did a fantastic job. Quick and efficient service coupled with friendly professional service. I would use them again and already referred them to a neighbor

I have worked with Theron and is his crews for well over 20-years and their service continues to be top notch. From interacting with board members, tree consultants, meeting deadlines, communicating (Marcia); and to the ultimate of performing the service. As a manager of HOAs (Oceanside to Chula Vista), I cannot express the level of appreciation that I have for Theron, Marcia, and his crew for getting the job done as this is 1 part of my work that is hassle free. Thank you. Thank you!!!

I sent a Thank You! e-mail to Pro Trees as follows:
You did an exceptional job on my trees and I am so very grateful!...your crew exceeded my expectations!
Thank you for protecting my lawn as well.
I also sent a note to Mr. Abner:
You are a first-class tree cutting artist! Thank you for doing a beautiful job!
Best regards,
Sharon Hamolsky

We have used the Green Team from Pro Trees for several years now. The men are always very careful, professional and very hard-working. It is always a pleasure to see them here.

On a Sunday, one of our trees that had been leaning began to fall further. I sent a quick email to Pro Trees. First thing Monday, the office contacted me and said they were working on a proposal. By Tuesday morning, the tree was removed and we were relieved. We are grateful to Pro Trees for doing such a timely job. We have used them before for routine tree maintenance. They do a fantastic job and their clean up is excellent. I recommend Theron and his team.

Pro Trees Arboriculture are the absolute Best Tree Care contractor! They are dedicated to their job and they actually go up in your trees to do the trimming correctly! They really care as you can see by the pics. They even lay a nice large tarp to ensure everything is done nice and neat! We are so excited to have found this company! They are the real deal!!

In February this year, the tree in my backyard was made a Heritage Tree by the Encinitas City Council as it is a special Leucadia Landmark. My guess is that it is about 70-100 years old and nearly 100ft tall. It takes a special team to climb and trim the tree. Coordinating with the city, ProTrees just trimmed it by climbing only which is breathtaking to watch! They did an amazing job as you can see from the pictures below. You can see the special Heritage tree and its new look by driving along Leucadia Blvd or from the ridge looking west!

The Pro Trees team takes into consideration long term health and growth of trees while lacing and trimming - the team took great care in working on my Italian Stone Pine and it looks beautiful! The tree is close to my house, hovers over my waterfall and pond, with many additional plants and landscaping obstacles that were conscientiously protected during the process. I highly recommend Arborist Theron and his team at Pro Trees for their holistic approach to Tree trimming and management!

Pro Trees Arborist does outstanding work for a reasonable price. They did a great job trimming my beloved big ficus. Seeing what a great job they did, I called them back to eliminate my shaggy, invasive, smaller ficus trees, including stump grinding. Another fantastic job. They are talented, professional, meticulous and neat - it's as if they were never there ... except better! Thank you.

We had this company prune some trees and they looked fine, so we invited them back to fix our avocado tree that had fallen. They took months to come out and finally arrived unannounced. Then, they damaged the yard more than helped. The tree is still at the same fallen angle with stakes mounted to exposed concrete (which I specifically said I wanted to avoid) and they left the fence with a piece torn down. Feel free to look at the images below. I strongly recommend finding another arborist.
