Outstanding. We loved that they were a family business, with a personal touch. Workmanship was excellent, they were always on time, and they stayed in communication throughout the effort. They had a very reasonable price and never came back for more. I’d definitely recommend them!

We started the process of getting estimates for our backyard pool/landscaping project in April 2019. Gabriel from Rivers was one of the first landscape contractors we met and we immediately liked him and loved his complimentary 3D design of our pool and landscaping. We proceeded to get several other estimates and though some were slightly less expensive, we kept going back to Gabriel's design and detailed estimate. Fast forward to late July, we decided to go with Gabriel and also hired Black Rock Pools for the pool construction. They were a great team and we love our back yard now! We needed everything for our backyard, demolition, retaining walls, 2,800 square feet of pavers, 2 fire pits, irrigation, drainage, tree removals, plants, sod, trees, fences and lighting. They also remodeled our fireplace in our home and mounted the TV over our fireplace. Every worker was competent and respectful. They were on the job every day, always on time and though we had some miscommunication issues over the 3 month project, they always made things right until we were happy.

Kevin always shows up an gets the job done. He has excellent communication and his craftsmanship is superior. He replaced a sagging balcony for us and we love it.

Kevin and his team at Custom Builders and Exteriors are awesome!! Their bid was right; their work was timely, cost effective and professional! The project the did for us came in under their bid in an effort to save us money. The kitchen remodel turned our really nice. This is the second time we’ve used them. We appreciate the commitment to quality and what they stand for!

My wife and I used Custom Builders & Exteriors to do a complete remodel of our exterior deck off our living room, which is the center-piece of our home in Cardiff-by-the-Sea, with an expansive ocean view. We are extremely pleased with the result, and our experience with Kevin Hubbard, who heads the company and oversaw every step of the project, from beginning to end. The price was reasonable, and the contract documents were very professional, including a breakdown of the cost of the work to be performed, and a payment schedule. Kevin and his crew were diligent in performing the work, and focused on the details. Kevin is a good communicator, who kept us informed, on a daily basis, of the work to be performed. He also took no short cuts, and made sure every aspect of the work was done to the highest standard. Highly recommended.

I have used Cruz Construction on my properties in the past and would highly recommend them. They do great work!

I called Richard Cruz to help me repair a leaking bathroom faucet. He came on shirt notice and expertly completed the repair. He was very professional and gave me a fair price. His number has a dedicated spot in my contacts and his company will be the first that I call if I have additional needs for home repairs..

Without a doubt, five stars! My kitchen remodeling experience with Richard was wonderful! He did a fantastic job, and I appreciate the level of detail he was throughout the job.

Richard recently did a demo job on our property that including removal of ALOT of old (read 1980s variety landscaping timbers aka railroad ties). He came out, gave us a very reasonable quote, and in two days, everything was gone and cleaned up. Quite a lot of topography on our lot; no complaints from Richard or his crew, they just did the job with professionalism. I'm sure we'll be bringing back Richard for other things around the house, inside and out.

We have only the best things to say about Cruz Construction. Richard is very professional in what he does and we will definitely be keeping his number for any projects that may come our way. The communication was great, and we appreciate the great work he did for us on our driveway. He is very mindful of his surroundings working in a tight area. He and his crew are trustworthy and extremely fair with cost and completion on planned jobs as well. Their work is always on point and delivery is above & beyond - THANK YOU CRUZ CONSTRUCTION!

I reached out to this contractor for an estimate and provided all the necessary details over the phone and again by email. After that, I never heard back for 1 week.

I followed up clearly stating that I was checking on the estimate request, but he responded rudely and repeatedly asked, “An estimate for what?”, as if we had never spoken and I hadn’t already sent everything he needed.

This experience showed a complete lack of professionalism, organization, and basic customer service. If this is how he handles potential clients before any work even starts, I would be very concerned about how he’d handle an actual project. I will not be using his services and cannot recommend him.

Cruz Construction is exceptional all areas! Our family was planning to replace all of our home flooring, and needed a bathroom makeover. Richard and crew went above and beyond! Exceptional communication, customer service, responsiveness, attention to detail, and professionalism at a fair price. These traits are not always easy to find in the construction trades, and Cruz Construction has them all. We highly recommend.

Professional, prompt, courteous, and extremely detailed work at ½ the price of everyone I got quotes from. Not to mention my bathroom was completed 10 days earlier than everyone else quoted. Must mention that the craftsmanship was detailed and done as if it was his own. Very hard to find this quality these days!
