Steve's team has been looking after the trees at my property for over 20 years I wouldn't use anyone else
I called and spoke to the owner Steve on Sunday. I explained that we needed a quote for a tree that fell from a neighbors yard to mine. That my neighbor was elderly and that I was assisting. He told me he would be here 9:30AM the next day. I called him 9:35 and he was not on his way but rather on his way home and was glad I called because he didn't have my address with him (Even though he made the apt). He showed up at 9:45 and was grumpy that I told him we were expecting him at 9:30 he said "Its not like a doctors appointment" and proceeded to make excuses. Rather than park he talked to us through the truck window and asked if this was tree trimming - I reminded him it was for a tree that was down. He finally parked and when he got to our stairs he started asking where the work was...where the trees would come down? He was curt, rude and not at all helpful. I asked if he wanted to quote this job and he said "NO"... I was in shock and so was my 80 year old neighbor. How this guy is in business... no idea.
My wife and I just recently moved to Mill Valley and needed a tree service for maintenance on our 6 large Oak trees along with several other trees on our property. Our neighbor and long time Mill Valley resident recommended Guastucci’s, and they didn’t disappoint. Steve’s crew was friendly, professional, and very hardworking. They even took time out of their day to educate us on various plants/trees we had on our property and the best way to prune/trim to keep them healthy and growing to our benefit. We were shocked the amount of work they did in one day, and at a very fair price! They’re clearly a family business who cares about their customers and we’d recommend them to both strangers and friends. Thanks again Guastucci team, we will see you again in the future!
I’ve known Steve for more years than I care to mention. I was superintendent at a local tree service and worked with Steve for about 10 years. He was always conscientious and would go out of his way to help customers and fellow employees. Now that I no longer do tree work I have had Steve do some work for me, always to my satisfaction and enjoyment. I find Mr. Fitzgerald’s post curious. “How this guy is in business... no idea.” Perhaps he has been in business for over 40 years because he is a qualified arborist and sensed that this meeting wasn’t going to work out to anyones benefit. That sense comes from experience.
On the advice of a friend who has used Guastucci Tree Service for decades, I called him for a quote. Prompt and friendly, he gave us a very competitive quote and we agreed to have the work done the next week. We had forgotten about some work we wanted done and even though it created another half day of work, he was very flexible about it and got it all done. The crew was pleasant and Steve was very knowledgeable, taking the time to answer our questions. The work was great, everything looks fantastic. They were careful about things like moving pots out of harms way and putting them back when done. The clean up was excellent, even picking up piles of debris nearby that I had created earlier. We would highly recommend this easy-going small family business!
