Read moreOnce I received the contract from them and read the installation options, I decided that I wanted the upgraded Interior Anchor System, because I wanted my foundation to be the same size as the frame. They revised the contract to include 28 welded brackets, at a cost of $840. I signed the contract and they scheduled the installation for Monday 06/09. On the scheduled installation day, a crew of 5 showed up at about 9:30 AM. It was pretty clear to me almost right away that of the 5, only the lead installer had a clue what needed to be done. He was training the other 4 on this job. They worked through the day and erected most of the frame. In the middle of the day, the lead informed me that the shop had sent the wrong sheet metal for the walls. They would have to send another truck with the correct material. Their shop is almost 7 hours away. But, he told me that it wouldn't stop his work because he could still install the roof. Later that afternoon I returned to the site to find only 3 installers just sitting around. The lead was not there. I asked what was going on, and one of them informed me that he had dropped one of the rails on the lead man's foot and he had gone to the hospital to have it checked. About an hour later they loaded up and left. The next day, 06/10, I stayed home from work and waited until about 10 AM. Nobody showed up or contacted me. I finally contacted the shop which told me that the lead man had been injured and they had been ordered to go home. They told me that a new crew would be sent on Thursday, 06/12, to finish the installation. I went to the site to look at their progress, and noticed that they had not included the welded brackets on the base rails that they charged me $840 for. Without those brackets, the only mounts available are holes in the base rails. That puts the mounting locations less than 1-1/2 inches from the edge of concrete. The installation crew had gone ahead and drilled all of the locations and put in anchor bolts. As a result at least one location blew out the side of the slab. (see picture) On Thursday, I stayed home from work again and waited until about 10:30 AM. Nobody showed. I contacted the shop again. Finally they called me at about 11:30 AM to tell me that the new crew wasn't coming either. And they were going to re-schedule for Tuesday 06/17. On Tuesday, 06/17, I stayed home from work again, only to be called at about 10 AM by the new installer, a closer contractor, to tell me that he was running behind and he would not be able to get to me until Thursday 06/19. On Thursday he called to tell me that the axle on the trailer that Enterprise had sent with the material had broken and he would have to borrow a trailer and would be there on Friday 06/20. On Friday, 06/20 the new crew showed up at about 8:30 AM. This crew obviously had a lot of experience. They worked through the day and got most of the front and back wall installed and part of the roof. They left the trailer with the material and said they would be back on Saturday to finish. On Saturday, 06/21, the installer called me to tell me that the shop had sent the wrong trim and would have to send the correct one or buy some from a local shop. He said he would call me on Monday 06/23. As of yet, I have not heard from him, and I still only have a partial building.. They also have not included the door header seals which they charged $295 for. I have contacted the shop multiple times throughout this process. When they do get back to me, all they ever say is I apologize for the inconvenience, or let me ask my supervisor. Then they never respond with an answer. As of today, 06/24, I still do not have a completed building.
I was pleased with the outfit all and all. They were having a special on carports and I took advantage. The crew showed up on time and they had done the job in just a few hours. It was only after they pulled away that my wife noted that they used the wrong color trim. I've had too many projects of my own tripped up over details to get too upset. When I contacted them about it, there were no aguments, only apologies. They sent another crew out in a timely manner, they too were apologetic and like the first crew, got right to work. In no time they had swapped out the trim, even used the excess material to trim out some new side pannels I had put on and they were gone in about 40 min. In the end I got the shelter I wanted for a good price. To me, a company that is error free doesn't exist. It's to what lengths an outfit goes to make things right that speaks volumes.
Lack of communication Lack of professionalism Lack of work ethic Lack of customer service Lack of knowledge Went through Carport Central and they connected us with their local company...Enterprise Steel Carports It started off pleasant when talking with Liliana Franco and Ana Dominguez -communication WAS great, answered specific questions and friendly -Liliana checked in regularly while working on permit Suddenly, communication stopped. Liliana was no longer working there and Roxanna was the new contact (warm body) Throughout the permit process, we were informed that the engineer failed to include details which led to revision fees. Once we proceeded to schedule for installation, they scheduled on a day forecasted to rain..."they work in the rain!" When the installers arrived, there was a communication barrier...a phone app was used to translate. I informed the main installer "Morgan" (his name is Osmar) and the 3 other crew members that rain is on the forecast tomorrow, he seemed surprised and unaware of the weather. I asked to make sure the roof was on before the rain came and he agreed. Off to a good start, grabbed them lunch and they worked into the night... we put out bright lights to help them see in the dark. They returned in the morning as it was raining very hard. Osmar was not here! Apparently did not have all the right paneling and he had to drive a few hours away to retrieve. The crew continued to work as I made them breakfast. Once Osmar returns, we check on the progress and the whole crew is soaked...No raincoats, nothing! We allowed them to use our dryer to dry their sweaters. Upon observation, screws were left all over the property, trash left everywhere, even though we placed a trash can out there for them. Cuts made around the windows were not straight and leaked water ("wrong cutting saw was used") and was told they would return another day to address areas needing attention. 2 weeks later, they returned to replace more than half the panels. Did not pass inspection...(screws missing, reinforcement, etc) they had to come back again. When 2 crew members returned again, we asked to address an area and one of the crew starts to cuss in Spanish. He made the change and without notifying us that they completed the work, they sped off. ANA DOMINGUEZ reaches out, we were under the impression that she no longer worked there, come to find out... she OWNS the company. Where was she during the process? WOW a business owner should always be involved especially when there are concerns. This company is not worth your time! Spend your money elsewhere!
