TLTR: Fransisco was late to meeting and then canceled because he doesn’t want to work with you if you get multiple quotes. ___________ Looking to fix a pool that has been empty for 10+ years and had no real idea what is needed. Called multiple places to get a quote explaining our parents emptied as it was too much upkeep for them and have left it empty for over 10 years. Now, we are looking to sell the home and are trying to get everything that needs fixing, fixed. Originally I left a message on the machine for a call back and continued to call other places. I am 1.5 hours away from the home and am only there on select days as we get things ready. I scheduled a few people to come out for quotes (painting, pool and roof) on the days I would be out there. Fransisco called me back that afternoon and was willing to come over that day (Oct. 12th), but I explained I live far away from the house & will need to schedule a time since I wasn’t currently there. He asked when I would be at the house and I let him know I would be there the following day and a few days later. He offered to come the following day, on Oct 13, 2023 between 3:30-4:30. I said that sounded great, but let him know I had some other people giving me quotes that day as well (had someone scheduled from 2-3:30 for a quote on the pool, roof and painting and I wanted to be upfront about my time constraints and that others would be coming). He asked which company and I let him know, but he said he hadn’t heard of them before. On the 13th I waited. At 5:01pm, according to my phone log, Fransisco called me to let me know he was another 20 mins out. (Let me remind you our meeting time was supposed to be between 3:30-4:30 so he is already 1/2 an hour late by the time he called.) I let him know that wouldn’t be a problem, but gave him a heads up he might be showing up when another person would be there as I had someone coming to give me a quote at 5:30. He told me he “thinks I don’t need his quote then as I am getting to many”. Anyone getting work done should ALWAYS get multiple quotes. The fact that he was upset I was doing exactly that means it’s a company not worth doing business with. In case Barajas Pool and Spa (Fransisco) reads this, I had 4 companies that were supposed to quote me that day. Company 1 - showed up early and didn’t want to give me a written quote for anything. (They were supposed to quote for the paint, pool and roof.) They were very pushy on how I should do things, which rooms should be painted, what colors should be used and which order I should do the repairs. They told me I didn’t need quotes for everything at once and should just quote one thing at a time. (again I am FAR away and have limited time) Needless to say, that company won’t be getting my business. Company 2 - professional and on time. They are supposed to email the quote which I am waiting on. Company 3 - Barajas Pool & Spa. YOU who didn’t show up and who told me I am getting to many quotes. Company 4 - Who was late and rescheduled. They came out a different day but don’t offer the full services needed to get the pool operational. This means I will be getting a total of 1 quote out of everything. This is why people schedule multiple quotes.
Brilliant pool construction. Francisco and Cary are easy to communicate with, and very accommodating as they’re based in the north central area and still provide services here in Pasadena. We’re in the final phase of completion, and the results have exceeded our expectations, we chose the black pearl pebble finish. Can’t wait to start grassing the backyard. Thank you again Francisco and Cary.
