Water pooled in my backyard and driveway. Company installed a drainage system that allows water to drain to street. In the process, some gutters were cleaned and directed away from the building. Work exceeded my expectations and was completed in less time than expected. Workmen arrived on time, did an efficient job, and removed all debris. This company has my highest recommendation!!

Shai and his team at California Foundation Works went above and beyond to renovate our fixer within our budget and timeline. They replaced our roof, installed new floors, gutted and replaced our bathroom and installed a new kitchen. Also, Shai and team updated our plumbing, electrical, skimmed coated and painted every ceiling and wall. A complete transformation! Being first time home owners and very green to all things renovation, Shai did a great job educating us throughout the process. Shai was always available to field questions over the phone or drop around the house to discuss aspects of the renovation in further detail. We wouldn't have got the renovation done without California Foundation works!

California Foundation Works did a superb job fixing the foundation on two rooms in our 60 year old home. Our bedroom was listing about 4 degrees and was getting worse over time. Shai, the project engineer, designed an engineering solution by drilling six holes 28 feet to bedrock and filling these with reinforced concrete, to anchor beams on the raised foundation. This leveled the room and was completed without removing the floor. A very tough feat, given the lack of room in the crawl space.

He also completely poured a new foundation for our Sunroom on the backside of our house. We renovated this room and the foundation was inadequate for the load bearing French door, which we installed during the remodel. Shai coordinated all of the plans and City permits required for this project.

All of the work was completed on time and was fairly priced. Both jobs were very extensive and I was happy with the cost and quality of the work. The workers on the job site were very competent and courteous.

I would highly recommend California Foundation Works to anyone who needs foundation work both for residential or commercial repair or construction.

I hired California foundation works to put in new foundations for my ADU as required by LADBS. They came and gave a very reasonable quote. When I asked them about other things I wanted to do they gave my good advice and didn’t just say yes to everything for a bigger job. Very honest people. The work itself was very professional and fast. They were super clean and polite. Most importantly they were there for the inspector and did all the talking to make sure we passed and we did on the first visit.

Shai and Ricardo were great to work with. We needed a section of our hillside to be more stable to protect a shed below. Shai, with CFW, was prompt to meet with us and provide us with a plan for pressure-treated wooden planters that would provide a place for us to plant stabilizing plants, provide soil retention, and added an unexpected bonus of providing a flat area to sit and hang out. Ricardo (and his team) actually put in the heavy duty planters, finished the job in a very timely manner and went above what was required of him to make sure that another area had stability too. Though we are thus far VERY pleased with our experience working with CFW, the product is just a few weeks old...ususally we wait to review until after a year or two to see how someone's work will stand the test of a little time. If in a couple of years we don't amend this review, then you can feel confident that we are still as happy with the work as we are today. We have already recommended Shai to our neighbors, and have had compliments on the structure from other builders, landscapers, and architects.

Very pleased with my experience using California Foundation Works! Due to the drought and our soil type, my raised foundation had slipped causing the floor to become unlevel, and cracks inside and outside of my house, not to mention doors not being able to close and latch anymore.

They provided plans and details to submit to LA county and handled procurement of the permits. The longest part of the process was waiting for approval from the county to get permits, but once we did, the corrective work happened very quickly.

On site, the staff was friendly, focused, and efficient. Considering the significance of our issues (almost 4" out of level on one corner of our house), it only took about 10 working days across 3 weeks to install new support piers, girder, and leveling the floor, not to mention stucco patch and touch-ups. There was a bit of down time between bursts of work was due to having to wait for the appointment with the inspector, but once we got sign-off on the placement of the piers, the concrete pour and leveling work began the next day.

I found this company on Google after we had a not so good experience with another foundation expert. I worked with Shai who was very accommodating and explained the entire process of how they would correct our foundation issues. The home we had worked on was over 100 years old and had severe foundation damage. Shai assured us that they were going to take care of us and get it done quickly. The project did not go quickly but that was no fault of the contractor it was because of the city of Los Angeles inspection department and the slow down with COVID-19. Shai and his company was finally able to expedite the inspection process and we were able to get this project done within 30 to 45 days. The work was immaculate.. they cleaned up fixed any cracks that was inside of the house and they even mowed the grass for us. I would definitely recommend this company… I would recommend their work… I would recommend their cleanliness and their ability to get the job done in a fast timely and safe manner.These guys are definitely experts in their field.

Let start off by saying I rarely write reviews, but in this instance - it just couldn’t go without being recognized. Mr. Juan (i.e., green eyes) - big boss man in charge, truly stands-out as a guy with in-depth knowledge of construction. California Foundation Works is currently amidst an extensive hillside drainage project at my residence - and from the beginning, starting with the girls at office (i.e., my main point of contact being Derma) - to all the workers on-site have been nothing but amazing. Over the past number of years - I’ve been though countless construction projects, but nothing as effortless & transparent as what I’ve experienced to-date with California Foundation Works. Thank you Mr. Juan (i.e., green eyes), 2nd Mr. Juan (i.e., white beard), 3rd Mr. Juan (i.e., foreman on-site), Derma and entire staff & crew for being a pleasure to work with.

After getting ridiculously expensive quotes from a number of other contractors, California Foundation Works showed up, inspected my foundation, and wrote me a full but reasonably priced proposal for repairing a cracked/crumbling section on a 1920s bungalow. Communication was excellent throughout the process and the repair--difficult, dirty work--was quickly and expertly completed. California Foundation Works even painted and re-paved the surrounding area, so it looked better than before. I was so relieved to have had both an affordable and professional experience!

I had foundation issues and drainage issues in my home. My garage would flood each time it rained. They accessed the problems and knew exactly what needed to be done to fix the problems.

As well as foundation issues, they did fencing and pavers in my yard and went above and beyond to make my backyard into an AMAZING OASIS. Juan you rock. Their crew guys came every day, were very reliable, professional and worked tirelessly to complete the job. I would highly recommend California Foundation Works to anyone who not only needs foundation/drainage work but any other work as well. Looking to use them again for additional work on my home. We had the best experience with California Foundation Works. Our basement was flooding everytime it rained. I’d gotten a few other quotes and plans, but Juan came up with the best plan and waterproofed our home from top to bottom. They handled the permits and inspections and everything in between. They were transparent about pricing and timeline and easy to reach. It rained a few days after they poured the concrete back over the French drain and our home was bone dry. Worth every penny and would definitely use this crew again.

I had chronic problems with water getting into my foundation, which caused a whole host of unfortunate problems. My job was a big one that involved a lot of labor excavating out the foundation to waterproof that and a retaining wall, along with upgrading and adding a more functional surface drainage system in my yard. That said, my problem is this company’s specialty. From the second I met Shai I felt very confident that he genuinely understood the problem and could solve it. The team really worked extremely hard every day of this project. Juan was on site every day (which is really rare in construction) and Shai was readily available for consultation as needed and on request. It’s always challenging to take on a big construction project, but this GC does a really good job addressing customer concerns and producing the result. I provided feedback throughout the job and had a few change orders that they had no problem implementing. It’s been raining recently and I can see their work is literally doing its job. I’ve already referred them to one friend and I’m sure I’ll send them on to others. Thank you to California Foundation Works for helping me sleep at night when it rains for the first time since I’ve had this house.

Juan and his crew did a fantastic job on my concrete slab. I had been living with several cracks that had developed over the years, one crack in particular had lifted almost 2” within the previous five years. Juan’s crew arrived on time, were courteous, covered everything with plastic, worked nonstop including installation of rebar, until the job was completed. They were very professional, respectful, and cleaned up before leaving. I interviewed several other contractors and they were the lowest bid, but I mainly hired them because of their great reviews and reputation. I’m so glad I did. Thank you Juan and California Foundation Works.

Needing foundation work is a major renovation. Sinai construction were utterly professional in all stages of the project, from initial conversations to the daily work of the foreman and team over the course of several weeks. The result is top quality. Highly recommended.
