MG Constructors did a great job for us. We had a failed retaining wall which needed to be repaired. They were prompt, courteous and very hard working. They even worked through an absolute downpour (November, 2021) to get the wall repaired and the drainage working. Highly recommended.

MG Constructors' engineer did a thorough inspection of our WWII era home foundation. We knew we had issues. Their engineer took photos, showing us the concerns and detailed solutions. They repaired our crumbling foundation and secured our home to the foundation.

Sonny provided an accurate estimate, oversaw the permitting with Santa Cruz County which is no easy task and had impeccable communication through the closure of the project. I couldn't ask for better service and outcome!

Long story short...We had a home that we were getting ready to sell. we did all of the customary pre-inspections, and the foundation was called out to be in a state of deterioration across the entire back of the home.
Now, we use a lot of different vendors to help us get homes ready for the market, but not having to deal with foundation replacements very often, we didn't have a company in our war chest.
We located MG Constructors on-line and found them to be extremely responsive. They came out and bid the job, and perhaps more importantly, they could start almost immediately.
They even worked with our pest control company to allow inspections as we also had them replace some dry rot in the mud sill while they were doing the foundation job--that saved the seller a LOT of money.
I hope we never have to use them again, but if we did, they'll be the first people I call.

Sudarshan Srinivasan ( Sonny) from MG constructors recently provided us Inspection and Engineering services for a property we were considering to own. His work was extremely thorough! He inspects homes from a lens, if it were to be himself and his family living in that property simply put. He was very patient in explaining his findings and provided us context of issues uncovered if they were within expectation or not given the understanding of the terrain of the neighborhood and the lifetime of the house. He was detailed in the steps involved in fixing the underlying issues and a plan and priority of what would need to be fixed first.

I worked with Mark (owner) and Rahul Kannan (Staff Engineer) on designing and building a massive deck on a steep hill, and by no stretch of imagination, could I have been more impressed and happy. They are great engineers, professional business people, amazing project managers, and deeply nice and honest people.
MGC did engineering designs and calculations, helped me with detailed architectural iterations, owned 100% of city communication for permitting, completed the construction in a very timely and precise manner, and passed every inspection flawlessly.
They are not cheap, neither too expensive, but worth every penny.

Sudarsan "Sunny" was the engineer on two projects for us - assessment and replacement of piers inside the foundation and fixing a gap in part of the foundation where the ground ha settled. I think that he was very responsive, honest and explained our options clearly. The actual cost of the pier replacement project actually came in lower than the estimate. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend MG Construction.

We had the privilege of working with Sonny on a load bearing post removal for my home. Sonny and his team went above and beyond to provide us not only calculations and drawings, but even provided modifications a few months later when the contractors ran into unforseen complications. I really enjoyed working with them and would highly recommend for anyone seeking professional work.

Sonny is an epitome of professionalism and expertise when it comes to foundation inspections. He was meticulous, patient, caring and thorough when conducting the inspection. He spent two full hours going over each and every detail, plus suit up (in an overall, goggles, work-boots, flashlight, headlight, etc.) and spent an entire hour in the crawling space. He spent so much time in the crawling space that I had got worried for him. He goes above and beyond what is required of an inspecting engineer to make sure he is not overlooking any minor issues/problems/cracks in the foundation, and his plans/blueprints are topnotch with the utmost preciseness and accuracy. Not only his work was five start, I would give him 100 out of 100 for the quality of foundation inspection he did for us (A+).
Also, I take this opportunity and thank each and every member of MG Construction crew who worked at our property. They are the most consummate professionals in this field. He's was available at short notice for an inspection on the weekend with a very quick turnaround time for the report (time was of the essence). Hired MG to do foundation and structural integrity inspection for a home per recommendation of our agent.

Sonny and Sachin came for inspection. Both were knowledgeable as well as patient as we discussed various aspects. They educated me with "why behind the what".

As a follow-on, I spoke to the firm owner Mark as well. He has been in business for over 20 yrs and provided comprehensive insights going through personal anecdotes to help paint a bigger picture beyond the inspection.

This was my first experience with rehabilitating an old house, but I have had lots of experience with contractors (2 new construction, 2 remodels & 1 addition). MG Construction was by far the best service I have ever experienced. Mark and his crews show up on time every day they say they will be there, and they do excellent work. They also work diligently to minimize messes.

We have had MG Construction do two separate projects on our 75 year old home: he did earthquake retrofit, repaired a crumbling foundation and installed a sump pump for the first project. The second project his crews chipped away the old stucco around the decayed window sills and casement as well as the stucco around the base installing a weep screed. The did a great job matching the unusual stucco finish on the property and our home is now water tight. I highly recommend Mark and MG Constructors.

MG Constructors were very professional in the way they helped me out with the foundation strengthening project at our place. Sonny was in particular very knowledgeable and was willing to spend the extra time explaining everything I needed to know. I highly recommend them.

They were great to work with and we would recommend to anyone in the area needing foundation work. The lead engineer, Sonny, was extremely knowledgeable, kind, and responsive. Other companies we'd spoken with wanted to either put a bandaid on our aging foundation, which would require more work down the road, or wanted to completely replace it. Sonny came up with a solution that specifically addressed and corrected the issues we were facing, without having to do a full replacement. The workers were also very nice, and as unobtrusive as possible.
The only area we see for improvement would be for more frequent updates during construction. There was regular communication prior to the work beginning, but once the project was started, we had to reach out a few times for status updates. That said, we always received a swift reply, which is generally unheard of in the construction industry, so they get 5/5 in our book.

I needed to have cracks in the foundation of a rental house repaired. Sonny Srinivasan of MG Constructors and Engineers, Inc. did a thorough job of inspecting the foundation and defining the required work. The construction crew also did an excellent job of performing the work. I strongly recommend them.
