I used your service last June 26, 2018 and you quoted me a 5 hour job to check and repair multiple things. I now decided to fix my own electrical problems by reading and learning because of tight budget and now just realized the electrician you sent was dishonest. 1.) He purposely took his time "fixing" each receptacle when all he needed to do was replace the receptacles with a new one. 2.) The only thing that got done in 5 hrs was replace 7 receptacles with new regular 15A duplex receptacles and an attempt to troubleshoot a two gang porch light switch that wasnt getting power. 3.) Out of all the receptacles he opened and supposively "fix", 11 receptacles in total he skipped in replacing one with a new receptacle even after checking it. This receptacle is the 6th he worked on out of 11. If he had replaced the 6th receptacle then the two gang switch near it that he gave up on would finally work and receive power but instead he recommended running a new line from the main to power the switch porch light and the 2 consecutive receptacles downstream of the circuit also affected with no power. The 6th receptacle powers the switch and the 2 outlets downstream of the circuit but it was faulty because its no longer holding onto the hot wire stabbed at the back of the receptacle. 4.) when he tried to diagnose the porch light switch for some time but gave up because he said he couldnt find the source that feeds the switch 5.) He checked the sub panel and told me its okay but in fact the sub circuit breaker panel contains 2 loose breakers and voltage leak even after turning off main breaker and lastly its an old Federal Electric brand that is known to be faulty and a safety issue 6.) He had only replaced 7 receptacles but i was charged 9, in fact he said the new outlets are usually not charged and is part of the labor 7.) he kept going outside making phone calls to you im guessing (Mel) for whatever reason which also consumed time. All in all 7 receptacles replaced, 1 failed diagnosis of a porch light switch and a misdiagnosis of a source main panel in 5 hrs which cost us $650.24 and a new quote for $740 to run a new wire to the two gang switch and a new grounding wire. $740 that is not completely necessary if he had replaced the 6th receptacle out of 11 he checked. Ive watched news segments of licensed contractors making dubious repairs and claims to inflate service fees but my mom tried to put faith on the one she found and called. Unfortunately your business is not the honest and competent type.

MEL Electric installed our generator and will be monitoring it remotely as well as doing all our maintenance. They are easy to get ahold of and very responsive to questions. I highly recommend them.

I had them come and swap our 480 Breakers with Leviton 4 pin quick connects, one showed up blown up by the supplier. They were able to locate one same day and get it installed. Quick with great quality and professionalism. We will be using them in the future.

Very reasonably priced. We had a ceiling fan installed, two outlets installed, and some ceiling can lights installed. Workers were prompt, informative, efficient and did a great job of cleaning up after themselves. I'd highly recommend them for electrical work.

I needed 2 bathroom exhaust fans installed. MEL Electric was great! Showed up when they said they would, price was in line with what I was expecting and they were clean, polite and professional while working. MEL Electric is my go to for all of my electric needs. When I first moved to Napa I surveyed several different electricians and found that MEL offered the best savings and after having used them multiple times, the best service that I could ask for. My house is a bit old and so I'm sure there will be more work that I'll be calling MEL for assistance with. So far they've installed a new outlet so I can charge my Tesla, another outlet for a tankless water heater, repairs to my electrical panel, and I think a few other things that I'm missing. I highly recommend the MEL team if you're in need of good electrical work.
