Do not let them insulate your walls. They don’t have enough “handymen” to complete the job in a reasonable time so the workers must take shortcuts. I was lied to every day about workers arriving. I was promised 2 guys each day but always got 1 guy for a half day. Find someone local instead of these guys.

I bought an older house that hadn’t been maintained for years. There were a lot of entry points for rats to enter the attic, crawl space, and garage. I needed work on the HVAC, asbestos in the crawl space, insulation in the attic, as well as rat exclusion. The issue had gotten out of control and they were able to help at a much more affordable rate than all the other estimates I’d received. I needed a few minor things to be done after the big job and Jorge Martinez was super helpful in getting the last of the work completed. I’m glad they were able to make our home safe for my daughter and me. I look forward to the rodent issues being in my past with the help of Attic Pros.

This 5 star is for attic pros - Jorge Martinez who is our 4th service person coming for mice check. He identified several holes which was never checked and not closed by others. Patient, thoroughness, professionally clean work.

His attention to The whole project is what adds to his creativity. People forget things like trim boards and for knobs.

Called this company regarding a commercial project we had going on. They do NOT do any kind of commerical projects. In fact, the woman who answered the phone was very rude and hung up on me when I mentioned commercial work. From my VERY little lack of experience with this company, I would not ever call them again for commercial or private architectural work.

We did a major remodel: new kitchen, 3 new baths, and an ADU in the backyard. We couldn't be happier with our remodel. BPA & D did a great job from start to finish.

I can not recommend Buttrick Projects more highly. The home the Buttrick Projects team designed for us is stunning, unique, responsive to our needs, and every little detail is thoughtful, functional, and beautiful. I would work with them again in a heartbeat.

A number of years ago, I had the opportunity to work with Jerome Buttrick on the renovation of a classic, now landmarked house in Berkeley designed by William Wurster. At the time, I was impressed by how aware and sensitive Buttrick was to the key elements that make the house an icon of the "second generation Bay Area tradition." We modernized the open plan design and strong indoor/outdoor relationships to accommodate a more contemporary functional kitchen and service area of Wurster's first "shed roof house." As a friend and admirer of Buttrick's talent I have kept up with his ongoing architectural projects. I am increasingly impressed with his deepening sensitivity to the evolving Bay Area aesthetic and his skill in moving that aesthetic into the future. I believe that he, with a few other architects practicing in the region, are designing projects that can be said to define the third generation of Bay Area Architecture. Many of his residential projects have an urban character responsive to the contemporary generation of residents that also maintains connectivity with the strong geography and landscape of the region. They are definitive projects of the present and near future.

We have been tremendously fortunate to have Jerome and Ivor guide our residential remodel. From start to finish they prioritized our aesthetic goals with vision and commitment to excellence. They are kind and a pleasure to work with. They communicated well with both my husband and I, as well as with our contractor, working together to achieve something beautiful.

We have recently completed our second renovation with Buttrick Projects. Their strong design vision and attention to detail are second to none, and everyone in the office is deeply committed to their clients. The renovation of our house has been featured on an architectural tour - enough said.

I worked with Jerome and Ivor on an extensive remodel of my 1930's English Tutor style home. The key aspect of the project was to modernize the flow and function while staying in tune with the old-world aesthetic nature of the original home. Buttrick Projects accomplished this beautifully. We finished with landscaping the backyard which included adding a pool. The bronze water feature Jerome designed added the beauty and sound of falling water. BP A+D guides, calibrates, listens, and translates the vision of their clients impeccably.

Buttrick Projects did two major renovations on our house, a 1920s Tudor designed by a noted Bay Area architect. A full kitchen and bath renovation was followed by an extensive remodel of our 2nd floor 10 years later. We have been, and continue to be, extremely pleased with the results. Jerome's design vision and attention to detail are impressive. He struck a fine balance of modernizing our home while keeping with the traditional Tudor 1920s aesthetic. The firm was responsive to our thoughts and extremely professional in their execution. I highly recommend them.

We recently completed a master bedroom and bathroom renovation with Cappa. We were very pleased with how Cappa team communicated clearly throughout the project, keeping us informed on schedule, timeline, and progress at every stage. The project also finished close to the original schedule, which we really appreciated. Their team was detail-oriented and took real care with final finishes and compliance with Berkeley code. For example, the bathroom tile work, in particular, turned out beautifully. Cappa team also guided us through a decision/fix on electrical wiring that gave us a peace of mind, while minimizing delay to construction.

As with any renovation, unexpected issues came up. Cappa team did a great job explaining the situation and providing context, which made it much easier for us to collaborate on decisions and manage change orders.

What stood out most was that while we know our project was on the smaller size, Cappa team consistently approached the project with the customer’s best interests in mind and made us feel like their most important customer. They were willing to go above and beyond to deliver high-quality results.
