Constraction reviews in Pasadena, California

Kolsen Deck Builder did an outstanding job on our new front yard deck and fence in Pasadena. From the moment I reached out for a quote, I was impressed by how quickly they responded. Brandon took the time to listen to our ideas for the deck and fence, and made sure he understood exactly what we wanted. He provided the estimate right away, which was much faster than other companies we tried. Throughout the entire project, the team kept us updated and provided excellent customer service. We are extremely happy with the quality of the wood and hardware they used. The finished deck and fence look amazing and really improve our outdoor space. We will definitely reach out to them again for any future deck projects!

This was our first time building a deck, and the team made the entire process smooth and stress-free. From the very first meeting, William helped us create a design that fit perfectly with our existing patio and gave us a clear idea of pricing. Once everything was approved, the crew quickly started work, and we were very impressed with the attention to detail and high-quality craftsmanship during both the framing and the final decking. We also wanted extra lighting for our new deck, and David, the electrician, did a great job making it all work with our current power setup. Communication was one of the things we appreciated most—Grant, the project manager, kept us updated and made sure everything was on track from start to finish. He was always professional and made sure we were happy with the results. We’re really enjoying our new deck and would highly recommend this company to anyone looking for a well-designed and expertly built deck.

This deck building team is truly outstanding. They are always honest, fair with their pricing, and the crew is professional and careful with their work. A while back, they removed our old deck and built a new, solid foundation for our backyard remodel, and the results were fantastic. More recently, we needed our back patio deck area redone, including tearing out the old structure, building a new railing, and installing a beautiful stamped concrete deck of about 1,000 square feet. Grant, Tanner, and Brandon did a great job managing the crew and making sure everything stayed on track, even with some unexpected weather. The quality of work was excellent and everything was finished on budget, just as promised. They work efficiently and always deliver results that go above and beyond expectations. I highly recommend this deck builder for any outdoor project!

I had a fantastic experience working with Kolsen Deck Builder! We started with our own vision for the deck, but David brought in additional creative ideas that really enhanced the overall design. He has a great eye for style, space, and making sure everything fits perfectly with your home. The team was always on time, kept everything organized and clean, and the quality of their craftsmanship is outstanding. I’m thrilled with my new deck! Communication was always simple and clear throughout the project. I highly recommend choosing them for your deck building needs.

We did a bathroom remodel with Precision and it was a great experience. Very organized and good communication. We’ll be calling them back.

Great working with Anthony. He was honest and did a great job with our patio.

Very happy with this contractor from start to finish. He got the project going on time and kept everything moving smoothly. The bathrooms turned out great, the living room looks refreshed and inviting, and the high ceilings add a nice touch. The crown molding was installed neatly with great attention to detail. Communication was simple and straightforward the whole way through. Definitely recommend!

Cornelio came in highly recommended by family and friends. He responded quickly to my inquiry on redoing my water damaged floors and gave his professional expertise on best approach. His team came in and got the job done in 2 days and my floors look amazing! Thank you to Cornelio and his team for the exceptional work!

CAP Angeles Construction - Cornelio and his team were amazing to work with. They converted our garage into an ADU in 2020 and we use it everyday. The construction was high quality and on time. He and his team communicated regularly and guided us through the process, was always available and flexible to our requests and questions. Cornelio is patient, kind and incredibly trustworthy.

We loved working with him so much that we’re starting a kitchen remodel with them now! This time we used his architect who helped us with design as well. If you’re looking to remodel or need any construction work done, I highly recommend CAP!

This company is does amazing work and the owner is really patient and knowledgeable. Very easy to work with.

Their team was professional, reliable, and highly skilled—from planning to execution. They delivered high-quality work on time and with clear communication throughout the project. Highly recommended for anyone looking for dependable and top-tier construction services.

Cornelio and the team did our ADU and did a great job with some really good advice on finishes, appliances and other design features. They have done most of the ADUs on my street and all the neighbors have nothing but great things to say.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I’ve had a great experience with CAP Angeles Construction Inc. Cornelio is professional, reliable, and communicates clearly throughout every step. The work was done on time and with excellent quality. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for trustworthy and efficient construction services.

We have used Cornelio and his team for all of our major renovations. Their work is extraordinary, their integrity is amazing and their pricing is fair. I recommend them to everyone I know. They can do any project too - from building a house from scratch, building an ADU or tiling a bathroom or updating a kitchen. I trust no one else.

We've just finished a full-house remodel and 500 sq-ft addition to our ~90-year-old cottage-style home with CAP Angeles Construction. We added a bedroom and master bath, reconfigured the entire layout of the rest of the house, moved and expanded the kitchen, and added an indoor laundry room. It was our first real experience with a major home project, so we have little basis for comparison, but we have come away very happy.

Cornelio, the owner, has been great. He's communicative, friendly, and does his best to please. We came in with plans from our architect but without having picked a lot of the finishing touches or having made major decisions about things like floors, windows, doors, or cabinets. He helped us with those, and was perfectly happy to go with anybody we selected or to suggest vendors. We used his vendors for most of the windows, our cabinets, and fabrication of our stone countertops - in all cases, they did excellent work at very competitive rates.

He was both the lowest bidder on the job and came in with the fastest time estimate. His initial timeline had the job finishing in 4 months, whereas the other contractors bidding were saying it would take 6-7. It DID end up going about a month past his original estimate, but even with a month of delay, the job was completed faster than his competitors were saying it could be done.

We had some weird requests because our home has a lot of distinctive quirky accents that give it character, which we wanted to maintain even at the same time that we were updating nearly every aspect of the house. Cornelio went out of his way to make those happen, and when work didn't meet our standards he was very happy to tear things out and see it done right. The door and exterior wood trim on the house were particularly tough to mimic or duplicate, because they were in a distinctive hand-hewn style put together by craftsmen in the 1930s. Cornelio's guys did an impressive job of matching the look.

He's also thrown in some considerable extra work that wasn't in the contract, free of charge. Right at the outset, he removed a giant wisteria and a large tree in the back yard that other contractors were saying we'd need to hire another company to do - that probably saved us a few thousand dollars. His guys also helped us with quite a lot of furniture moving when we were packing stuff away to get out of the house.

Early on, after a batch of demolition, it was discovered that a batch of preexisting old framing wasn't up to standard and we would have to do additional framing and foundation work. This necessitated a change order to the contract, but Cornelio was very reasonable about it. The extra sum was in line with the large amount of unanticipated work involved, and this was a spot where a less scrupulous contractor might have named a much larger figure - we pretty much had to say "yes" given the status of the house at the time. But he didn't gouge us. Through the whole process he has been scrupulously honest and has never seemed like he was trying to nickel and dime us in any way.

The people working for Cornelio have all been great. They're polite and friendly and do excellent work. I think they've mostly been working for him for years, and some of them are extended family. He doesn't use subcontractors for things like plumbing and electrical work, and his in-house people know what they're doing.

He also clearly has excellent familiarity with the building codes, local city bureaucracies, and the building inspectors, at least here in Burbank. His work consistently passed inspection at the first time and we never had had inspection- or permit-related delays.

We were a little worried going into the project - Cornelio is fairly young and didn't come with a long history under his belt. I think this is his first Google Review. He was the lowest bidder by quite a lot, and we worried that we might be making a mistake in not going with a more experienced contractor who was quoting us $80,000 more. Now that it's done, I'm very glad we chose the way we did.

Cornelio and his crew are awesome! They work hard and get the job done. They transformed our 600 sq ft garage into a gorgeous studio guest house with walk a in closet, a gorgeous bathroom, and an even more amazing kitchen. We love the new addition to our property, especially when we have family in from out of town. Very reasonable pricing and Cornelio is very easy to work with and has great connections to all the permit offices. Couldn't be happier!
