While he was away, he still sent us an estimate quickly, and tanner was able to start building our new wood stairs the very next week. Both david and tanner were professional, friendly, and clearly knew a lot about building decks and stairs. The new stairs look awesome and everything passed inspection with no problems. we're really glad we chose this company to take care of our project and get it done on time!

When the team started working on the deck and stairs, they discovered extra damage to the support beams that wasn't visible before. Brandon explained our options, and after we decided to upgrade the deck wood as well, the project moved ahead quickly and without any problems. This is the second time we've had a deck built by Kolsen Deck Builder. The first project was our kitchen patio, and we were really impressed with the team—William made sure everything was finished ahead of schedule and the craftsmanship was excellent. It completely changed how we enjoy the space. This time, we had our backyard deck built and once again got amazing results. While it’s possible to find cheaper quotes, the attention to detail and quality of work here are unmatched. Out of all the contractors we've worked with on our home, they stand out as some of the best in the business.

We had three different companies visit our home in Pasadena to give us estimates for building a new deck and outdoor space. We needed to remove a large old patio and replace it with a modern deck using high-quality materials. On top of that, we wanted a new outdoor kitchen area that would match the style of our house, and they were able to source bricks that looked just like the originals. Throughout the project, Grant and the team were easy to work with and kept us updated. Even when there were a few scheduling changes, everything was handled professionally and the crew made sure we were happy with each step. The price for the whole project, including the custom outdoor kitchen, was very reasonable compared to the other quotes we received. The other companies didn’t even include the outdoor kitchen in their original estimates. Overall, we are very pleased with our new deck and outdoor living area. The workmanship was solid and the finished space looks great for entertaining in the warm Pasadena weather. We definitely recommend this company for anyone looking to upgrade their backyard with a new deck or custom features.

Our backyard needed a major upgrade, especially the old deck and patio area. We were lucky to find a local deck builder who really understood what we wanted. Grant and the crew had fantastic ideas for updating our outdoor space with a new deck, beautiful railings, and modern patio surfacing. They gave us a clear timeline for the project and finished everything right on schedule. The team worked hard to make sure every detail was just right, and our home's exterior looks amazing now. We’re thrilled with the results and appreciate how much they cared about making us happy.

We reached out to Kolsen Deck Builder to take on a deck project that others told us couldn’t be done or gave us quotes way beyond our budget. William arrived with some of his team and clearly explained what could be done and what it would cost. They started building within a week. As they worked on our new deck in the backyard, we also talked with William about a few other ideas, like adding a low railing around the patio, putting in bench seating along the edge, fixing some cracks in the patio ceiling, and even adding ceiling fans for those hot Pasadena afternoons. We also discussed putting in a step-down to a new concrete pad at the end of our deck and making a paver walkway leading from our driveway. They even refreshed the landscaping rock in our yard to give everything a finished look. All the work took a little over two months, and the quality is outstanding. The crew cleaned up after themselves every day, and William kept us updated on the progress and next steps. You can really tell they care about doing great work and have a strong work ethic. We highly recommend Kolsen Deck Builder for any deck or outdoor projects, whether you need something big or small done right by professionals.

Working with Grant and his crew was a fantastic experience from start to finish. Our deck project in Pasadena was a bit tricky because our yard has a steep slope, but the team handled it with true skill and attention to detail. The new deck looks absolutely beautiful, and we really appreciated how professional and easy to work with everyone was. Grant listened to our ideas and made sure we got exactly what we wanted, including a well-designed ramp that will be great for the future. We truly couldn’t have chosen a better team for our deck project than Kolsen Deck Builder. From the start, David and his crew made sure we were happy every step of the way. Their communication was always clear, and they made sure everything was done just the way we wanted. They were flexible when we wanted to make changes and always offered helpful suggestions for different deck materials and finishes, especially when we weren’t sure what would work best for our home in Pasadena. We can be pretty particular, but they really rose to the challenge. Whenever we had questions or concerns, they responded quickly and took care of things right away. The work moved forward steadily without long breaks, and our project finished on time and stayed within our budget. Now we have a beautiful new deck and a smooth, stress-free experience to look back on. We’re so happy with the results that we’ve already decided to work with them again for our next project!

We had an existing patio cover at our Pasadena home when we moved in. The previous homeowner had some paperwork showing who installed the original cover, so we decided to use the same deck builders for our project. We wanted to extend the patio cover on both sides—on one end, they added a slatted roof to fill in the gap and matched it perfectly to the existing structure, connecting it seamlessly to the house. On the other end, they installed a solid roof, which turned out great. Brandon from the team did an excellent job with the construction, and everything looked flawless when it was finished. The company also installed electronic shades for us. David came out to take measurements for the shades, which was a bit challenging because some of the posts were at a slight angle, but he handled it well. When it was time for installation, Grant and another team member made sure everything was set up beautifully. The office staff were all really friendly and helpful throughout the process, always making sure our questions were answered and that we were happy with the progress. We’re very pleased with our new extended patio cover and would definitely recommend this deck building company to anyone in Pasadena looking to improve their outdoor space!
