Best Retail Garden Store for a beautiful and quality plants year round. The employees are knowledgeable, nice and helpful. They also have one of the most extensive collection of large pots. The plants might not be the least expensive, but they are healthy and many of them come with a one year guarantee.

This store has beautiful selection of plants. Manager Jesse, quite the opposite. We customers pay premium to shop at Armstrong compared to the Home Depot(although during pandemic, you notice Home Depot garden center's selections became beautiful, large and less expensive). With good return policy so the Armstrong says and lures you in to sign up in their system and you expect to find beautiful plants. BUT when it comes time your plants die, Armstrong does their best denying returns. I have experiences that few of employees were not-so-knowledgeable with identifying plants and just find similar ones on your purchase list and scan for return. Hence, when you return the actual plant, they will say it is already returned. And if you're unlucky to run into the manager Jesse, he will sigh and argue on returns without asking these sort of details from his employees and ask you literally 'WHY ARE YOU STILL HERE? CAN I WALK YOU OUT?' on customer's face. It's revolting to read his welcoming message on the website and offend the customers in person. We're all burned out from pandemic and do not need to experience these. We visit nurseries to bring plants home to heal our souls and nurture them in return, not to get yelled at.

My girl and I really love this place, so relaxing, peaceful, recently we have been going every weekend. they have great variety of plants, and very rare plants, indoor and outdoor plants. Staff are super helpful, knowledge, friendly and always happy to help you with a smile on their face if anyone feels like decorating the house this is the place to go, we highly recommend it

This is our fourth time to this Armstrong Location is Pasadena. We truly appreciate the knowledge the employees share with you when shopping for products and answer your questions. They are very helpful, always asking the customer if they need any help, we enjoy their customer service.

Plants look well taking care of. There are nice accessories for indoor & outdoor living. People there are nice, friendly and knowledgeable. Will definitely go back to visit and buy.

A nice selection of plants and garden gear but the staff is not helpful and prefer to talk amongst themselves vs. helping customers. Two walked by me in an aisle and nearly bumped into me. I did not feel welcomed or helped there.

This nursery has everything. I found several odd plants that I couldn't find elsewhere. All the plants are healthy and in good shape, unlike the box stores. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. A great place to shop for garden needs!

Return visit today. It's pricey, but worth it. Excellent quality plants and products, staff that takes care of them, and knowledge they can provide for your purchases. You get what you pay for!

I was able to geta mimosa (sensitive plant) and worms for composting! They usually have a good selection of indoor and outdoor plants. Their fruit trees are great too!

Plants for every season. Great staff and fun place to learn about plants you purchase. Bring your kids!

Such a serene garden & plant shop. Its backyard is always filled with healthy plants and rare finds. They always have ladybugs & worms in the summer. And the kids’ garden class was also fun.

Staffs are very knowledgeable and friendly! Their MaidenHair Fern looks so green and rich, and I couldn’t helping buying them home couple times, however they always get killed by my poor gardening skills, so I eventually gave up. This is just sad:/

I ordered from Shop Monrovia online for pickup through Armstrong. I never received a phone call from Armstrong Pasadena to pick up my plants. I called over 10 days after the order and was told nothing was in and was told to call Shop Monrovia. I contacted Shop Monrovia and they didn't know why I didn't get a call but my plants were ready. I truly did not expect these half dead plants when I went to pick them up. Will never order from Shop Monrovia / Armstrong again.

They always have everything beautifully laid out, and the staff is always more than happy to answer my questions, almost every time I come in I find something new that I've never seen before, yes this tree I pictured isnt cheap......but your not going to find this one at home Depot!

The absolute best nursery in the entire Pasadena and beyond area! What a stunning store, it feels like you walked into a high end store, not a nursery! Plant selection is amazing, all plants are healthy and thriving, and the selection cannot be matched by all the nurseries combined. Long time resident in the Pasadena area, but somehow I always missed this store as it's placed right in the middle of a residential area, with no other store near by of any sorts. I'm delighted I discovered it and will no longer bother by other nurseries, but at the same time upset at myself that it took me 10+ years to learn about it. And last but not least, their staff is amazing, very helpful and knowledgeable. If I could I'd give them ten stars.

Let me start off by saying I basically never write reviews. I could probably count the total on one hand. But I feel compelled to do so because I had such a fantastic experience at this Armstrong location. Not only did they have a great selection and everything I needed for my project, but I also had the absolute pleasure of working with Mindy who made the entire visit exceptional!

I came in feeling really overwhelmed about a big garden project, but Mindy immediately put me at ease. Mindy spent so much time with me, thoughtfully consulting on my vision and space. She asked to see photos, inquired about the details of the project, and really listened. She shared her deep knowledge of plants, especially her expertise on California natives and what thrives in this area, but always made sure my voice and preferences were front and center in the process.

We walked through just about the entire garden center together, reviewing options and selecting possibilities! Once we had a good mix, she helped me thoughtfully arrange groupings of plants to see how they'd look together. She offered suggestions and made edits that brought a real sense of cohesion and harmony to the overall design. It wasn’t just about picking plants, it really felt like designing a space with someone who genuinely cared & was just as excited about my project as I am!!

Mindy’s passion for cultivating the earth was truly palpable, and her dedication to helping others cultivate their own green spaces was truly inspiring. On top of all that, she was just lovely to talk to - knowledgeable, kind, incredibly helpful, & interesting. I left not only with beautiful plants, but also with a lot more confidence and excitement about my project thanks to her. Thanks Mindy & Armstrong Pasadena!
