They did a great job of pruning and trimming. But they also broke one of the irrigation pipes, even after I had pointed it out, and the owner refused to do anything to fix it.

I strongly recommend to use this outfit for tree service: they came exactly at 8:00 am, as promised, all work was done during about 1-1/2 hours, they neatly clean the area of work, and infront of the house, after work is done, they were very professional, polite, and nice to talk to.

This is a 5 star customer experience. I called on a Saturday expecting to leave a message and Dennis answers and confirms appointment for estimate. Arrives on time with a reasonable estimate. The team arrived punctual on Monday morning. We had tall trees removed, horsetail cut down, trees pruned. Job complete, everything cleaned, very professional. I would recommend Firefighter Tree Service - they exceed expectations.

WOW! Dennis and his team (thank you, Miguel et al!) are the best! But first, let me tell you how I picked them ...

I literally asked 5 companies to come and give me a quote. My job involved 5 mature trees. As I met each person, I told them what I needed to get done and then asked them what they would do and how much they would charge.

Simple, right? Except you'd be surprised by the different approaches to the same issue (my five trees). Most were within the same price range but one company was easily 25% more than the rest and did not do anything extra. One guy quoted me for the work, and when I asked him about taking away the debris, he said, "Well, that is extra work. We will charge you more. It's better to leave it in front of your house."

I'm sorry, but what am I going to do with the debris (which turned out to be 2 truckloads, btw)?

When I met Dennis, he spent a lot of time going over in detail what his team was going to do and how one tree should be properly trimmed. You could tell that he not only knew what he was doing, but also loved doing it. Our neighbors liked what they were seeing and asked the same team to help them with their trees. His quote came with a copy of the company's Certificate of Liability Insurance.

I would definitely go with Firefighter Tree Service again ... and again and again. They're knowledgeable, friendly and hard/fast/efficient workers. They left the place clean and did a very thorough job.

Dennis and his great crew of guys did a expert job on removing a very difficult, large tree in a very short period of time. I was so impressed with how clean it was afterwards and even during the project. Highly recommend this group of guys for your Tree Service needs…

Dennis and his team are fantastic! I received a quick response from Dennis and a reasonably priced quote for removing our 26 dying cypress trees that were growing into the powerlines. I watched in awe as the 10 team members went to work at 8 am, removed the trees, grinded the stumps, and cleaned up the yard all within one day. Dennis also pointed out that our Oak tree in the front was rubbing against our roof and trimmed it back at no additional cost. We were so happy with their work that we then hired them to plant trees to replace the privacy lost from cutting out the dead trees. I highly recommend the skilled, efficient, and reliable team at Firefighter Tree Service!

Dennis and his team are FANTASTIC! He was able to work in my job right away, really knows trees and the best way to trim them keeping them in balance and understands what the local ordinance rules are. He trimmed a large camphor and removed a stubborn hedge, roots and all! I will call him again in an instant and highly recommend him!

Dennis’s communication was almost instant. He and his crew were efficient, professional and cleaned up after their work (including the street!) when removing my damaged Magnolia. I will definitely call him next time I need tree work. Highly recommended.

I literally woke up to strange men on the roof of my garages dropping tree branches from the neighbors large oak onto the roof and into my yard. They had opened the gate, let themselves inside my yard, walked behind the entire back of the house and started working without bothering to notify me. Totally unprofessional and dangerous. They left my gate wide open and I have a dog. Do not hire if you value people who will treat your neighbors right.

Dennis and crew did an amazing job removing our huge 70 year old Monterey pine that was infested with bark beetles. They arrived at our house when they said they would, and finished the job the same day. All debris from the tree was nicely cleaned up. The price was very fair. I highly recommend them to anyone in need of tree service.

Five stars from responsiveness, communication to work quality, in response to an emergency situation with one tree blown down and another huge tree about to fall amid the 3/14 wind storm. Price is fair too. Very relieved on that night and thankful to Dennis, Miguel and their crew.

Only improvement is to be proactive about advising clients to cover up water features/ponds, so to prevent contamination by wood chips/dirt—-this is a lesson everyone can learn from my bad lesson: our pond was badly contaminated with all fish died. Probably will take months to rebuild the eco-system….

Dennis and his crew were timely, responsive, and did a fantastic job on clearing our backyard of a number of trees (both small and large). We called Dennis on a Friday afternoon, came out early on Saturday to check out the job, bid the job and completed it by Wednesday. We didn't have enough room to fit the stump grinder in so he came back a day later to use a smaller one to get the job done. Highly recommend and if ever needed, we will definitely use Fire Fighter Tree Service again.

After receiving three estimates to remove the five dead trees in my back yard, including stumps & roots, it was clear that Firefighter Tree Service was my best option. Dennis was knowledgeable, prompt, and courteous. His communication skills were exemplary, the job was done in just a few hours, and the price was very competitive. The yard looked great when I came home from work, as he had clean & cleared every trace of debris. I have the highest praise for Firefighter Tree Service, and recommend them heartily. Firefighters Tree service did a great job on our big trees. I'm so happy with the job they did. I would definitely recommend them. They also clean up well too. Easy to work with and good communication on how I wanted the job to turn out. Thank you Dennis.

Other contractors simply do not work on poison oaks. Miguel and his crew of eight people removed poison oaks and brush in a big area (1/5 to 1/4 acre?). Although having to work on a 40 degree slope, they got the job done under seven hours (even cleaned up a long driveway). Their price is reasonable.

To sum it up - i have to hire another company to finish their job:
below are details:

1st:
I asked them to cut my cipreses enough so they wouldn't fall - they did and assured me that they are short enough to be safe - surely enough couple months later one fell on my car costing me $4700 of damage
2nd:
I asked them to cut it more but to also give them proper pointy shape - they did cut them in most incredibly sloppy meaner. NO SHAPE AT ALL!
3rd:
They've promised (twice) to comeback to fix it. they never did
4rd:
They charged me to clean-up the fallen tree. But left an ugly uncut stomp. When asked they've told me that cutting it is separate job. which is something good business would be upfront about.

We had two redwood trees come crashing onto our house during the March 2023 'bomb cyclone' event, punching a hole through our roof. Dennis and his team had served us well 3 times before this, removing a large spruce and pruning our live oaks and valley oak, so I knew who to call.

Dennis came out within 2 hours, and Miguel and his 7-man team were on site the very next morning. They skillfully removed the redwoods, piece-by-piece, without damaging the house further. (Remarkably, they did so without the use of a crane or other heavy equipment!) Additionally, they removed a birch tree that had been damaged badly by the redwoods.

The team completed the job in a single day, chipping or hauling the debris and cleaning up nicely. Our insurance agent was amazed at their very reasonable price, calling it the lowest he'd seen in the area for this type of work.

I could not recommend them more highly.
