I would recommend Vista Dulce to those interested in a California native drought tolerant garden. I had been thinking about doing some landscaping in my front yard for several years and thought I would just lay a new grass lawn. I met Kevin, the owner, and he got me interested in the drought tolerant idea. He is very passionate and engaging on this topic. I agreed to go forward with it. I have to say I felt a little nervous as no one in my neighborhood has done this. But kevin provided a computer graphic design of what he envisioned the layout to be and with my input on which plants I liked the dream of a new and beautiful front yard experience came to fruition. It has been 4 months since completion as I am writing this, and I can honestly say I am still very pleased that I did this. 70% of the plants are thriving, 20% are doing well and 10% didn’t make it. Kevin included in the contract replacements on a few failures so I was happy only a few didn’t make it. The design included a swale in the middle of the yard which captures a lot of rainwater which is funneled there via an underground drain system Kevin designed utilizing my rain gutters. I only had to water the plants once a week for the first month and a half but now they are doing well on their own. The colors of the decomposed granite pathway, the swale rocks, the stained wood planter box and the mulch all blend very well and is pleasing to the eye. I walk through my garden daily and find it very soothing. And last but not least, I greatly appreciated Kevin’s assistance in getting a significant rebate from the Golden State Water Co. This helped to offset the cost of the project. Thank you Kevin and crew you did a very nice job!

Since Covid struck, and we were stuck at home, we've become painfully aware that we've been neglecting our outdoor space. We had a general idea of what we wanted, but no specifics. We wanted an environmentally sensible, unique drought tolerant/native landscape. We got a dozen quotes from basically all of the major landscapers in the south bay, and almost decided on one, when by a sheer chance we got a letter in the mail from Vista Dulce offering a special on creating a landscape design (they finished work on a neighboring house). We thought it would be great to put our vision to paper, so we called them. Kevin came by and took his time looking at our space and really understood what we wanted. His design details, work ethic and passion for the work blew us away. We signed the paperwork and began the project. Now, our project was a huge undertaking and included both landscape and hardscape--we used Kevin and his network to complete all the work. Everything and everyone was great. Kevin helped with the coordination and ensured that all were executing towards the same vision. Because of his execution on the project, the final product is amazing. We get compliments all the time, and we are happy to give a glowing recommendation to Vista Dulce. They really do go the extra mile, and treat each project as their own house. He even helped us get a rebate through the turf replacement program! They are a relatively new company, but their passion puts them toe to toe with the big guys, who see each project as just another number. We trusted our gut, and took a risk going with a new company for a lot of complicated work, but it paid off.
