I needed help installing my Ecobee smart thermostat. I had my original thermostat off, but then ran into problems installing the smart thermostat. Romano Heating & cooling were able to come over within a few hours and install it for me, the complicated process ended up requiring going into the attic, but the job was finished quickly. I will definitely call them in the future!

I’ve used Romano HVAC service in the past, I had an emergency with my heater and called them. Juliano called immediately and stopped by my house within an hour, he was able to take care of the problem and he also replaced the Thermostat. Juliano put a new filter and bought a couple more to replace every few months and put me on the schedule. I will tell you this Juliano goes above and beyond if you’re lucky enough to get him.

Contacted Romano HVAC this morning requesting a diagnostic on two AC units, as well as some HVAC piping work. The Sales Manager, Juliano, was more concerned about why we were informed. I explained that I am the CEO of an industrial HVAC company with 60 years in business, and that our engineers have participated on the working groups that publish the industry standards. He kept insisting that we had spoken to another company when I explained to him that we are an educated and informed consumer. He further stated that he wanted to know precisely who his competition is so he knows how to "price" the work, meaning he is basing his estimate on the competition vs the work. He then added that they would charge us $89 to come out and diagnose the units, and then decide if they wanted to do business with us, and if we were "a good fit". It was a bizarre conversation, unprofessional, and raised several flags about the integrity and business practices of this company, despite having a few good reviews. Simply proceed with caution. We will not be using their service given this conversation.

If it weren’t for Juliano, I would give zero stars if possible. Juliano was amazing, prompt, professional and very quick. I was given this contractor through my home warranty company. I have never actually received a call to set up an appointment from Romano. I had to call every single time to confirm they received a dispatch call from my home warranty company. The scheduler is absolutely unprofessional and rude over the phone. They refused to return for a known fixable service repair claiming “they had already sent a diagnosis report” on a 110 degree day, after my ac went out for the 4th time. I also had to request a copy of the estimate report that they supposedly sent to the home warranty company, after being told out of nowhere to pay out of pocket fees before any parts could be ordered. I was never even contacted by my home warranty company or Romano to discuss the fees or how to proceed, which led to the further delay the order of my replacement unit. The lack of communication between Romano and the home warranty company regarding estimates, dispatch confirmation and the lack of humanity during a heat wave leads me to say I would recommend avoiding this contractor at all costs.

Edited to include a response to Romano’s reply below:
There was not an appointment set up to address the issue of unit replacement, only to place a temporary fix (upon my own request). The equipment has still yet to be ordered, and I just today received a hastily thrown together estimate for my approval. So your statement that the equipment had had already been ordered is factually incorrect.
As stated above, I have initiated all communications. Your company has never discussed any options beyond the initial diagnosis replacement, and the only solution offered was to call my home warranty company and request another contractor if I desired another temporary fix to ensure safe living conditions. So despite your claim that your care about customer comfort, your refusal to come out and fix the fuse during a 110 degree day proves otherwise.
All previous attempts to reach out to you directly regarding this issue has yielded no progress, until a three way conference call was initiated today. Still with no resolution.
