Application process is absolute trash. Spent 30+mins filling out the application for the link to be dead when I went to submit. It's a rat race, don't bother with work history or references this place will interview a Gatorade bottle with a pulse before they take a serious look at their candidates.

I just called today to get some info & a lady picked up and she had such a bad attitude that it made me feel I am not even wanted there, I wanted to join and be part of this training center but had like 2 questions the most and she was very upset about me asking her questions instead of explaining me her program, knocked my confidence down

LEARNING=FUN

The Electrical Apprenticeship they offer will teach you electrical concepts, theory, and Ohms Law.

You will receive job calls as they come in, working towards the 8,000 work hours you need to sit for the State Journeyman License in addition to the 5 years in the classroom of training and hands-on lab experiences.

It doesn't cost you anything but books after the first year (1st year books were free), and you will practice tradeskills by working in the electrical industry.

Many calls are for cutting edge desert solar power plants.

With the union; safety is number one, and the pay is prevailing wage. Pay upgrades come with the completion of class years and having the minimum hours total.

An apprentice gets a percentage of the Journeyman wage which goes up as you earn your upgrades. You can expect an increase to the Journeyman rate periodically (about once per year).

Functional website. Accurate info on CalApprentice. Central location. Ridiculous application program. I waited 6 weeks, about to press "submit" on my application. The app limit was maxed. My app was discarded after 30 min working on it. I checked the website for the next app window 2 weeks later - no update. Unprofessional, poorly-managed app process. Waste of energy and time.
