We purchased two trees from Moon Valley on 3/23/25. By 4/1, both trees were delivered and planted. Now August, we decided to update our irrigation system after tending to our trees by hand only to find out that a sprinkler line was damaged upon planting. Buddy Carr was immediately notified via phone, and sent our receipt and video of flooding from the damaged line. I was told he would work with his team to get this handled. Fast forward one week, I’ve checked in and have been left on read. Such a shame. We’ve already taken the time to fix their mistake.
We really enjoyed our visit to the nursery and absolutely love our trees. We had planned to go back for a handful more, but are now choosing to go elsewhere. The damage has been done. Once they received payment, customer service isn’t a priority. 2 stars for our trees, 0 for their lack of customer service.

I came to Moon Valley unsure of exactly what palms I wanted for my backyard. Max was extremely helpful and showed me around to each of the trees that were available at the Caramel Valley location. I appreciate his thoroughness while also being concise and to the point. My wife and I were both very impressed and walked away with a lot of new information. We have narrowed our selection down to a couple of different palms after speaking with Max a couple more times. We will continue to work with him and Moon Valley in the future.

I came here the other day cause I heard such great things about this nursery. Boy did it not disappoint! We are redoing my mom's property out in jamul and it was worth the drive! Spencer was so full of knowledge and gave some amazing design tips and tricks. I always feel like such a novice with these things and was so great to not feel like dumb for asking obvious questions. Didn't hurt that he was as easy on the eyes as the plants! haha ;)
Will continue to use this nursery for the rest of the reno for the staff and selections! Healthy plants!!!!!

Spencer went above and beyond, his knowledge and expertise in landscaping, design, and creative direction is unparalleled. Phenomenal job with conception and design. I can say for certain this is a one of a kind place and they do it all. We really felt like he listened and understood our vision perfectly.

Clainer and his crew had my delivery and single planting done in 30min from arrival to departure.

I had so many questions about what trees and bushes would work on the north side of my house. Max was the best! - able to answer all my questions and more. His knowledge of the plants I was considering helped me make decisions with confidence. I highly recommend that you ask for Max when you go there!

Nursery is amazing!!! Evergreen was good, but it appears Moon Valley has invested and made some major improvements in quality of plants and infrastructure. Folks are still able to drive thru the nursery, still good selection of color, herb, veggies etc. Bulk mulch still available plus major improvement in tree selection. Plus better service... all around.

Moon Valley Nursery San Diego location have been fantastic to work with. Donovan was good at communicating and keeping on top of everything. The planting crew did a great job. Wow, what a difference. Suddenly my outdoor space is beautiful. Thank you, Moon Valley.

Made an appointment to replace a large ailing tree in front yard. Armed with a few ideas of my own, Tom drove me through the vast collection and showed me the ones I was interested in and made some additional suggestions. I decided on one of his recommendations, and set up the demolition, delivery and planting.
The removal crew was efficient and thorough and the delivery crew led a few days later by Clay did a great job of making a few modifications to the planting site and positioning my new Little Gem Magnolia just the way I wished, even though they had to tweak it a few times.
Follow-up was equally impressive, with email and phone call to make sure everything went well, and offered a few additional tips on aftercare.
There are other nurseries that might carry a lower price tag, but the peace of mind and customer care were outstanding and worth every penny.
Just meandering through the nursery can be a full day trip. Bring a picnic lunch.

I love plants and I have been searching for a particular kind of hibiscus (yellow) . I stopped by moon valley nursery just randomly driving by and they had it in stock! Spencer helped me find the perfect type! It is a beautiful yellow hibiscus. Thank you, Moon Valley!

My experience with Eduardo was so pleasant. I learned so much about plant care & what would work best with my lifestyle! He went above and beyond to make sure all of my questions and concerns were addressed. 10/10 ask for Eduardo when you get there if you want to be truly taken care of! Thanks again

Change is good... I've been to Evergreen before and now that it's part of Moon Valley Nursery, it seems they've merged what both companies do well into a new style of nursery. They even have large trees now too! The service is great. The staff and even manager checked on us throughout the nursery (which is very, very large). For what we were looking to accomplish, they were spot on with the advice. Had fun, took a lot of cool pics too... Our new trees will be arriving soon and I'll update the review on the planting service portion. We'll definitely be back for more!

Hands down the best nursery in Southern California. A wonderful young man Spencer was very knowledgeable and helpful! 😊 So fun to see the beautiful layout and beauty of the large variety of almost any plant, tree shrub etc. Thanks again Mr. Spencer, we will be back for many years to come and have already received so many compliments on our newly planted trees !!! 🌴

We made an appointment online for a consultation. Max came to the house and was very helpful. He is very knowledgeable, friendly and professional and offered helpful suggestions. We met at the nursery and he showed us around and helped us decide on the best plants for our needs and budget. The planting crew also was great - very efficient and professional. We are very happy with the new addition of healthy trees in our yard and the friendly, efficient service for the nursery staff.

Just a quick note to say we really appreciate John's (Moon field technician) level of customer service. He is truly excellent. We have the quarterly service contract and he noticed several irrigation sprayers were broken and immediately evaluated our system and he fixed them. It is a small cost to him (couple of plastic parts) but HUGE level of peace of mind to us knowing that our trees are properly watered and looking great. Thank you Moon Valley Nurseries. The team at Moon Valley Nursery are very knowledgeable professional and easy to work with. I had to replace a tree in my front yard and I went with MVN. They had a big selection of trees and plants to choose from. The guy’s were fast and reliable. They did a beautiful job and they call and check in on how my trees are doing. I am very happy that I chose Moon Valley Nursery. I have more to my landscape project and I will continue working with Moon Valley Nursery.

Moon Valley is the best. The products are outstanding, the sales team (Joel) is helpful and never high pressure. And the installation crews are fast, efficient, and thorough. We love everything about them and will continue to be a customer. I can't say enough good things about their products and service. Have a look at our terrific new Strawberry tree in our backyard!

Nico, a very amiable and knowledgeable guide, conducted us all over this fabulous nursery (it is worth visiting just for the views!), and helped me to find exactly the trees I needed to form a splendid hedge alongside my large garden in La Jolla. Nico also came to my home and carefully prepared the area for the planting. The planting itself was done by a company of expert gardeners, thoroughly and quickly, and at the end they cleaned up so that no sign of all of their work remained other than the plantings. I could not have have had a happier garden experience than this one!
