We had an amazing experience with Moon Valley! Their nursery is stocked with amazing plants of all sizes. Our landscape designer, Kayla was so incredibly helpful. She was a huge help with our overall design, providing informative suggestions and recommendations. The whole team was very communicative and helpful throughout the whole process and leading up to planting day. On planting day our planting foreman Clay was an absolute legend! He and his team did such an amazing job and were very fast, efficient and respectful. Would totally recommend Moon Valley for all projects big and small.

Donovan at Moon Valley Nurseries took his time. Many times to assist me in selecting trees, roses, scrubs and palms for a large project in Santa Luz. Everything is looking beautiful 😍. Im going back for more. Donovan is officially my plant guy. He knows his stuff.

Very satisfied with our experience at Moon Valley. We were looking for potted bamboo to add a barrier on our patio between our neighbor’s house and our fence line. Adam helped us select the bamboo plants and select our pots - they had a lot of options at reasonable prices. On the day of planting, George and his crew came as scheduled and took such immaculate care in planting all 5 pots, lining them up evenly along our fence line and cleaning the area once complete. George also thoroughly explained how to care for our plants. We are very happy with the outcome and highly recommend Moon Valley.

Maggie was my Nursery Pro. I told her the characteristics I wanted in a tree and she suggested the perfect tree (Majestic Ash). She took the time to answer all my questions before & after my purchase. After my purchase, I decided to add a Crepe Myrtle tree to my order. On her day off she went in to the yard to inspect & select the tree so that both trees were delivered together.

The gentlemen overseeing the planting of the trees helped me adjust the placement of the Majestic Ash - which I really appreciated! While I had read the pamphlet on caring for the trees, I was able to ask specific questions and get answers for watering & Moon Juice applications. The crew left my yard very neat when they were done.

We visited this nursery in Carmel Valley and purchased a very beautiful plant. Unfortunately, as soon as we brought it home, it began shedding badly. We did everything we could to save it, but nothing worked.
We called the nursery for guidance and were told to bring in a photo so they could help us troubleshoot. When we returned, the staff barely looked at the photo and were extremely dismissive. The response was essentially shrugging shoulders — *“maybe this, maybe that, maybe drainage, maybe soil”* — with no real effort to diagnose the issue or offer a clear solution.
When we asked about repotting and requested a plastic bucket, we were told they didn’t have one and received no guidance on whether replanting could help. Only after my husband asked another employee did someone confirm they **did** have the bucket and brought it out for us.
For a nursery in an expensive area, the lack of customer service was very disappointing. Once the plant was sold, there was no support, no accountability, and no willingness to help us succeed with our purchase. We weren’t expecting a refund — just knowledgeable guidance and basic courtesy.
Beautiful plants, but based on our experience I’m, don’t expect help if something goes wrong after you leave the store.

Amazing service by our consultant Kayla who helped us find plants that compliment our existing king palms. She came to our house, took measurements, then came up with some potential plants to show us at the nursery. She came up with an initial design but then we decided to pivot after seeing a plant we liked at the nursery, and she was completely flexible and found beautiful plants to compliment the new one we wanted to incorporate. The tours around the nursery in the golf cart were super helpful when I brought my toddlers who don’t walk well. After some price shopping, we decided to stick with Moon Nursery for our 30+ plants/tree and the experience has been so smooth. Delivery was exactly on time. Toumas was the lead on the delivery and installation, and he was completely professional and very friendly. He took the time to position the plants and rotate them a few degrees to make sure the most even/ beautiful sides were facing out. Job site was clean when they were done, and he went over the plant care before he left. Highly recommend the experience with Moon Valley Nursery.

Spencer was so helpful selecting plants for the back yard. I know my indoor plants but he was knowledgeable in outdoor plant maintenance ! I highly recommend Moon Valley Nurseries Carmel Valley Ask for SPENCER !

Eduardo helped guide me through my choices and made the process turn key. We ended up having 28 Indian Laurels planted on my property. Troy and his crew who planted them did an amazing job. They were very fast and detailed in their approach.

Just had an awesome experience at Moon Valley Nursery! We were looking to add some trees to our yard and ended up finding exactly what we wanted thanks to Spencer, our sales rep. He was super helpful, super friendly, and really knew his stuff. No pressure at all—just great advice and a chill vibe.

The whole process was easy from start to finish. The trees look amazing, and the team that came out to plant them did a great job. Everything was smooth, on time, and stress-free.

Love this place! Donovan helped me and a neighbor source some thunderhead pine trees and get them from San Diego to north Houston, and we absolutely love them! Would highly recommend them!

Moon Valley Nurseries Carmel Valley - and specifically Nico - brought SO much LIFE to our home! Inside and out!! The customer service has been fantastic from the get go - Nico met us right when we parked, offered to help us with our project, and drove us around the property for hours of his time until we got it just right. Then he hooked us up, throwing in this and that for no extra cost - to make sure it was perfect. The day of delivery, everything was smooth, quick, and the planting crew was so professional and patient! They were done in just 90 minutes, and everything looked beyond incredible!! You can see the before photo and all the after photos in my review. Gorgeous. A month later, we noticed a few of our bougainvillea were suffering, and Nico replaced them right away - and threw in some extra mulch to protect our new garden - again, at no cost. He also helped us design our indoor plant partition this past weekend!! My husband and I could not be happier with the service and the plants, and will definitely be back for more (they have such a variety of healthy, mature plants, and are always getting new types!) - and hopefully we can collab with Nico again!! :) highly recommend asking for him personally!

Always always always check your receipt when leaving this place. Check the price prior to purchase. Personally confirm the health of the plant and confirm the health of the plants with the them prior to purchase.

I would only shop here if you are a highly experienced gardener or landscaper. They have a selection of products you cannot easily find other places. However, I made the mistake of coming here twice during my learning phase and learned the hard way.

First time, I was sold trees that were on the lot and unhealthy. When I go to other nurseries they’re very careful to guide me based on plant health and their availability. They do not over sell and actually teach me how I can work through different types of soil amendments.

The second time which was just recently I came and found a potting mix I couldn’t find anywhere else. They had only one bag not opened with a couple more full but opened. He said he would give me a 20% discount. I needed the soil I said great ok deal. Walking over he kept talking about how he wasn’t even sure if he had any. Asked me several times how many I needed and he personally loaded my card.

This guy goes to ring me up and tells me I saved $18. And that 3 bags of soil would be over $70. I asked how much they were per bag and you can tell he looked at the screen and started reconfiguring.

I left. But something didn’t sit right. So I call and just casually ask for an itemized receipt. They can’t immediately find it but then he looks and says oh yes, I see you bought 6 bags of soil yesterday.

They didn’t even have 6 bags to purchase on the lot. I kindly state I only purchased 3 bags and I was supposed to have a 20% discount because two of the are opened. He very kindly states that he will take it to a manager to refund it. No questions asked which I’m pleased. But then when I ask for a confirmation number he says everything will be sent to me automatically. I said great! I should call back later today if I hadn’t heard anything? He said no, within 2-3 days. I said yes that’s in my bank account. I mean for my confirmation number. He THEN asks me for my email. I’m not sure how I was going to get it before..maybe an email from a past purchase, but it wasn’t until I was persistent that he requested my email address. I will be going up there today if I haven’t heard back within the hour. However, this long winded review is to caution you. If you purchase from here. Always get an itemized receipt. Always take pictures and confirm prices prior to purchase. And download apps like PictureThis or take an experienced friend if you decide to purchase trees from here.

Tree health update: they are the only plants I’ve purchased from that nursery. I have a full garden now and they are the only ones that are not thriving.

Spencer was incredibly knowledgeable and easy to work with. He walked me through the entire nursery, explaining which trees and plants would work best for my yard and sun exposure. His eye for design really helped me visualize how everything would come together I left feeling confident and excited to start planting!

This company handled my complex’s palm tree trimming. While trimming the palm trees, their crew somehow managed to destroy, up root, and throw away succulents from a community planted succulent garden. Members of this community, self included, planted that garden and maintained that garden with our own funds.
I’ve included photos of the garden before they came to trim the trees and directly after they left.
As you can see almost half of the succulents are missing And the other half are damaged from either being stepped on or raked. There is still palm tree debris left in the garden, as well as a hand warmer heat pack that one of the crew members was using earlier that morning and left there. They were able to throw away the Succulents, but left their trash behind. I will be reaching out to the company about this with hopes of either getting reimbursed so we can purchase new plants and revive the garden, or Moon Valley nursery can provide us new succulents and dirt so that we can rehabilitate the garden that their crew has damaged.

First time here and I am positive that it would not be my last time. As soon as we arrived, we were greeted by Blaze. We asked to look at the trees, and within seconds Buddy came to pick us up in a golf cart. Buddy was patient and very knowledgeable. We knew NOTHING about plants, and he made it very easy for us to make a decision on which tree to get. There was a variety of trees to choose from. We went there with the intention to get one, but we ended up buying FIVE trees! The sale was great, and the more you buy, the more discount you get! I mean how could we resist?! The trees are all well maintained. It was phenomenal. Then we picked up some house plants with Blaze before we left. It was such a great deal. Got my dream fiddle fig plant for my living room for only $50. It would have cost me $80-100 at other local nurseries! I can't wait to come back and get more plants! Thank you Buddy and Blaze!

We stopped by to purchase a Christmas tree, but it’s clear that this level of outstanding customer service is an everyday standard here. The nursery is large and from the areas we were, it appears there are many great options for landscaping needs.

The Christmas tree lot offered so much more than just trees, including fun photo-op spots, hot chocolate, and ornament-making activities. It truly felt like a complete holiday experience.

Highly recommend visiting for both the excellent service and the festive atmosphere was a wonderful way to celebrate the holidays!

This was an amazing experience. I would highly recommend. A little far from where I live, but was close enough from my job. They have beautiful options and beautiful vibes of people. Kayla was the one who I worked with today. She was patient with me. I am not a plant person unless it's super easy care and she came through. I needed plants for a store I was setting up. We got a Fiddle Leaf Tree, some Asparagus Ferns, and a few Aralia (cilantro looking) mini trees. The prices weren't bad either. The delivery fee is a little hefty though, so if you have a truck, do that. Unless you're going to purchase a full front/backyard worth of plants then the delivery fee is worth it. Everything there was so cute though. I would totally go back.
