Jacob and his team did a great job in an amazingly short amount of time. I wasn’t planning on remodeling my bathroom, but due to unexpected water damage I had to have everything done from the floor, to the vanities, to the toilet, to the walls. The team was responsive, prompt, kept everything clean and on time and within the original estimate. I really appreciate Jacob‘s positive attitude and availability. It was very easy to reach him and his crew responded to my questions right away. I would definitely use S&L Remodeling again and I have recommended them to my close personal friends!

I own a rental in San Pablo, but recently moved out of state. My 40 some year old tub had a crack on the bottom. Interviewing Jacob, I found he met all of my needs. He was reasonable, gave me lots of pictures as he worked and kept me informed through the whole process. He was patient and willing to be creative which saved me money when we had a problem. Highly recommended! We did a major garage remodel (which required major shoring, excavation and laying a fully new foundation for the house). We also did a kitchen renovation with S&L. Overall we are really happy with the work. We actually met Idan back in 2022, and he is the one who gave us the original idea for how to do the garage - he had a real vision for the place. I didn't immediately go with Idan (my mistake!), and spent 2 years working with other contractors. After our previous contractor received violations from the city, Idan and team were able to pick up the project, fix the mess, and deliver a great finish. The team was very professional in dealing with the many difficult engineers and city inspectors, and they cared about the quality of the work.

Working with Matthew and team was a pleasure. They were knowledgeable, efficient and thorough and did very high quality work!

I'll put it this way. I've only owned two homes but I've overseen the remodeling of over 200 units of housing, so I've worked with a large number of contractors. Quite simply Matthew Kelly is the best I have ever worked with. Bar none. He is everything you would want in a contractor: he's good at what he does, he's honest and he's a good guy.

Matthew and his crew did a great job on a voluntary strengthening project. Clips, brackets, sheer walls and a bunch of excellent strengthening of the framing in our basement.

He got the inspections done with no issues as well.

He was great to work with as well, even left the work space cleaner than he found it.

Each day my husband and I look at our newly remodeled room and smile at each other, we couldn't be more happy with how it turned out! Matthew Kelly helped us realize a dream we had for a very long time, despite design challenges and supply chain issues. Matthew's one of the best contractors I've worked with. He's done several projects for me, including building a fence, outdoor stairs and landing, and framing several rooms. He's always done an outstanding job. He consistently provides updates, clearly explains any issues, and listens to feedback. The work was high quality and projects completed on time, which is definitely a rarity in this industry. I've worked with a lot of contractors and Matthew definitely stands out as one of the great ones.

Matthew and his team do great work! We selected Matthew Kelly Construction after a referral from friends after several contractors put in bids. This is not the case where the lowest bid wins, instead it was the proposal process that stands out. MK’s attention to detail, estimation, and callouts of risk areas were essential for our project. We required a structural foundation, and shoring to hold our second story deck and roof in place throughout. Other bidders had difficulty articulating a shoring approach. Matthew and his team did a great job proposing a solution. We began with a small pre-construction contract to make sure upper deck cantilever supports were sound - they were, and that reassurance really helped us, esp. when there is so much on the line. Once work began, they did a great job communicating, keeping the jobsite clean, and helping coordinate engineering alignment and inspections. They moved quickly to get things done before the rainy season began. They also helped us implement cripple wall earthquake retrofitting. We are planning to have them do more work for us in a few months.

Matthiew is professional and easy to work with. He terraced a sloped back yard with terracing and retaining walls, railings, and installed faux grass and decomposed granite. He is super responsive and helpful. I recommend him!
