Electrical reviews in San Francisco, California

Loved the way they respected the COVID threat. They wore masks and where very professional in the way they handled this tough situation.
After reviewing two other solar companies, I chose them based on their high Yelp rating and because every single person I talked was genuinely interested in me and in my project.
The equipment they installed is rated as the best on the Market and the components were engineered to give the best performance over the life of the Solar Panels. I can watch my solar production from an app. My solar production is also reported back to Solar Union for them to use in evaluating the production.
The warranty was also a great selling point. If you are shopping solar companies make sure you compare warranty info
We passed our county inspection with no issues to be resolved. That was a big relief.
Great company. Loved working with them. -
Beware, they are closed as of the end of October,. 2025
I wish I could give less than one. Seldom gave bad review at all as I usually suck it up. I admit some of the problems might have caused by the delay of my own construction crews. But then the back and forth when somethings went long took very long time to resolve. Totally blindsided that a heat detector interconnect to a smoke alarm inside the house is required by the building code for the solar battery in the garage (ESS) in California. It would be very easy to take care during the construction to add the extra wiring. Now they said we need to pay for everything. The lack of professionalisms really shocked me. I picked them because thinking they are local and in-town but actually the project management is offshore. This is something you need to watch out if things goes south. -
SolarUnion installed a 6 KWh system with battery backup in East Bay for us under NEM 3.0. The whole process took about 6 months. They took care of designing system, getting permits with city, working with PGE, and getting everything connected. The installers were excellent and also installed the EV charger and changed the house main panel to upgrade electrical service to 200 AMP. They respected the contract terms and I expect them to be around for the 10 year battery warranty and 25 year solar panel warranty in case anything fails. I have been very happy with the system and power consumption from the grid is at 10% of previous levels and I never pay high TOU rates at night anymore. Also, we just had our most recent PGE power shutoff a few das ago and the backup system worked flawlessly. The whole house kept on working after a few seconds delay and we went on about our day.

Update:
If you need to transfer ownership, go to Solaredge web page "Request for Monitoring Site Transfer and New User Access", I've been asking how to change ownership for so long and no one in SolarUnion answered my questions, now I found the answer myself. Paid $99 dollars, and the site transferred to next owner (sold my house).
Previous reviews:
After seeing Picky Engineer's review, I'm confident that SolarUnion is the perfect choice for my OCD family's solar panel installation needs. & Thank you for all your review, it helps through when I have doubt but later your review, the staff name you mentioned in your review help me rebuild my confidence.
My project started March and my NEM 2 & design approved at end of September. ( No complaints, I know lots of people want NEM2)
I've been contacted by so many staff member.
But Gelica is the one always respond my email.
Andrei & his team , the contractors, his name been mentioned several occasions in the review already I know I am in good hand.
Mary : is difficult to look for using email, but she responds text so fast, she's the one respond for schedules also after installation steps ( registration & apps download) & another schedules for inspections.
& I love almost every single staff I ever talk to including my sales representative
So far, I love my solar installation, I feel like I cheat a bit by selecting the company is a bit more expensive because I want quality work, and now I love every penny I spent.
Update : after using 4 months, there's several storms in the winter, and Feb 4, 2024 we had a power outage from PG&E , and my solar just switch immediately, I get to invite my neighbor over for a warm dinner, that is awesome.
Highly recommend it. -
After many interview and getting so many quotes from many vendors, my wife and I decide to go with SolarUnion to embark on our solar power journey. And it was definitely the right choice. We didn't know anything about Solar power or solar energy. But we learn so much along with SolarUnion.
Everything was done professionally and timely. From the beginning, where they did the drone survey, the proposal and contracting, and iterating with us on the design and, and finally the installation and inspection, everything is nothing less than perfect.
The thing we value most is their responsiveness. They always get back to us whenever we any question for them. The workmanship of the installer was superb. Not only do they work well, they also look very good. It's almost like a piece of well designed work of art. I must say that I highly recommend SolarUnion for anyone who is embarking on their Solar Power Journey. -
Old wiring started becoming a concern, so full-house rewiring was scheduled. The work was completed carefully, and everything now feels much safer and updated. I’m very pleased with the results.

I have been working on 62 2nd street, San Francisco. I have my construction tow-away zone on 62 2nd street and 100 Jessie street. One guy parked at my construction tow-away zone 2 months ago. He had his Foreman card inside his car, so I called him to move his car away. However, he said, “I would move as soon as I could.” Something happened today. One guy was from this business who parked at my construction tow-away zone on January 31, 2020. His car number is 132. My construction tow-away zone was missing. I just wondered that he took away my sign and took my space. There is still a public note of the parking permit on the window of the restaurant. We are doing construction. We know we need to unload materials. This business is not ethical. I don’t recommend everyone to use this business.

I was walking at 1st St and Howard St in San Francisco and a CBF driver nearly hit me walking when I had a walk sign on a crosswalk. He paused as if to let me go and then he started driving again and almost hit me a second time. He had strawberry blondish hair, glasses and a mustache and was wearing a hat. When I looked him in the eyes as he almost ran me over, he showed no sign of remorse and looked straight through me. Please address driving safety with your employees because this could have had a different outcome if I wasn’t paying attention. He was driving pretty fast.

Company drivers have been loitering in our parking lots for months now. I have called company offices to report and left voicemails but still keep seeing these unprofessional employees drinking and smoke weed in our property. We get constant complaints weed smoke coming in to apartments. If any knows who they are , please let us know to issue trespassing notices.

It was high time that I replaced my fuse box with a new circuit panel for my well pump. Asked for quotes from Angies List and found Reda Electrical Service to be the most prompt and through. Ernie came right out to view the scope of the project and gave me an immediate and reasonable cost.
