Quite amazing! Great quality plants and friendly help and they are PACKED with options including unusual and hard to find plants! Really great selection of Bromeliads to bring that unique tropical look to your garden. Check them out! A little bit out of the way but so worth the trip!

It's always a pleasure to visit Heron's Head Nursery. Their staff are pleasant, knowledgeable and helpful, they have a wide range of plants that do well in the local climate, and all of the plants we've had from them have done well!

I met the owner who was very nice. The prices are way up there for what you get: I bought 5 plants, & all but 2 died within 6 days. I also have never experienced as many insects: brought home slugs, snails, earthworms, afids, caterpillars .:/

Wonderful plant nursery. They were extremely knowledge and helpful. You can tell they take great pride in their work and take care of the plants. Happy I found this place.

10⭐ Brilliant service. I called from the UK to get a plant delivered to my aunt in San Fran. Elliot was extremely patient and helpful, from ordering through to delivery, corresponding the whole time. Quality products and service.

Located at Indian Basin Waterfront Park. The plants for sale are so beautifully displayed you feel as though you are in a garden. Large selection of Bay Area plants. Prices decent. Don’t miss this gem if you visit the park.

So happy with my beautiful plants! Elliot has an amazing design eye and so much expertise in determining where and how each plant can thrive. Very collaborative process. Ciro and all the guys have been so professional, knowledgeable, and respectful to have creating these amazing garden spaces in our home. Can't say enough great things!

Heron’s is not as fancy as Flora Grub ( which I also like). Heron’s is next door to Bay Area Native Plants. You can freely walk from one to the other. Things are well labeled and priced. Staff is very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Prices are not big box store cheap but the selection is of course much better. They have herbs, fruit trees, all sorts of things- sand of course Bay Area native plants. They even have an espresso machine- not sure if they start it up on WE’s. I got some nice plants and I would recommend it to anyone. Also interesting destination- since the dog park and eco house is right across the street.

Three of the seven plants we took home had powdery mildew. They also charged us full price ($12 🙀) for this pathetic looking mint plant, which I only took because there were no better options. I know they are under no obligation to do so, but most nurseries I've been to would just throw this sad little guy in for free since we bought a bunch of plants.

So, we got charged a lot, and we are probably going to have to throw everything away because of powdery mildew, which hopefully hasn't infected all our other plants. Probably the worst nursery experience I've ever had.

Great selection of mostly one-gallon, mostly outdoor plants, with well over 500 plants on site. The staff is knowledgeable, and all plants are organized in a database so they can quickly confirm what’s in stock and where. Healthy plants, good pricing, and an efficient operation.

I had an awful experience and wouldn't recommend this company to my worst enemy.

1.) Very slow. This job took a little over twice as long as they originally estimated.
2.) On a good week, we got maybe 2 days of work a week from them. Sometimes weeks with no word.
3.) Felt like extortion. We had paid everything up minus the $1000 final walkthrough, but our yard wasn't even half way finished and a total construction zone - so when they started pulling up new charges it felt like we couldn't say no.
4.) When I told them the drainage wasn't what we agreed on, I never heard from them again.

Update:
They had a lawyer send me a letter to take down my negative review. This felt very threatening at first, but I'm not even sure if it's legit because the guy's name is nowhere on the firm's page. If this does go to court, I will be blogging the experience.

Sanem and her team helped us turn our backyard from an unkempt bush into a small-big garden where both adults and kids love spending time outdoors. We found Sanem's Toolbox company via Thumbtack and we had initial conversations with a few companies but we liked Sanem's one the best. Looking back, we are very happy about the decision.

We appreciated her professionalism, experienced eye, overall communication and of course the result - delivered within the budget and agreed on timeline. Not that everything was just smooth sailing all the time - there were moments when we felt like things could be moving faster - as a working from home homeowner, you notice every day when people are NOT working at your backyard and that can make you antsy - but apparently that was all part of the bigger plan because the project was delivered exactly within the timeframe we agreed on (5 weeks). That included us deciding mid-project we wanted one particular type of turf that was not readily available, she managed to magically get it for us from somewhere else and still make the overall schedule work.

Sanem was very helpful throughout the process striking a good balance between listening to and helping us clarify our vision AND offering her suggestions on what she knows from her experience will look good & be functional. The same applies to changes we did vs the original plan - she did offer some fancy upgrades which were outside of our budget but she was also very constructive towards finding a solution which fits both our budget and preferences. She is a fun and pleasant person to interact with and she could keep her calm/ cool even under pressure.
So 5 star experience for us and would recommend her to anyone esp when looking to give their backyard/ garden a new life (adding our BEFORE/ AFTER pics for reference - yes, it is the same place, picture taken from the same spot).

I couldn’t be happier with the work that Silvio and his 2 man crew did in cleaning up my yard. They were professional, and incredibly thorough. Every corner of the yard was tidied up, overgrown areas were trimmed back beautifully, and all debris was hauled away without a trace. The transformation was impressive—it looks like a whole new space! Highly recommend their services to anyone looking for reliable and high-quality yard work.

These folks are models of efficiency! Blown away by the quality of work at the price given. Good communication, on time and did way more work than expected. Went above and beyond the call of duty with two house (front yards - right next to each other) side by side.
Work done: completely cleaned one yard that was overgrown and unkept. They also took a 2nd yard; cleaned it of weeds, trimmed the trees 🌳 and replanted succulents as needed.
Can’t wait for them to return and work on my 60ft back yard next. So happy with the outcome!!!

Brian and Noe did a masterful job on both our front and back yards! The end product was more beautiful and more serene than we ever could have imagined. We’ve gone from never using our backyard to using it daily. Our front yard was an eye sore and now it brightens up the entire block - we especially love the gorgeous paver walkway they built which brings us joy each time we use it. Brian’s pricing is slightly higher than others we had contacted but it was well worth it!

We had read many reviews about Brian’s “organic” process and though we were a little skeptical, we got the sense that he was very experienced and a true craftsman and decided to go with him, and we're so glad we did. He has a great sense for how to design a space, balancing form and function. His experience also allows him to bring a calm and a confidence in his ideas, which he used to skillfully guide the process. There were a couple times where we had wanted to interject a point of view that would have resulted in a less nice end product, and Brian was great at hearing us out, but also gently guiding us in a better direction.

Finally, here are a few of the things we really appreciated:
- The ability to weigh in some design choices (e.g. pavers, turf, etc), but those choices being limited so that we were choosing between better and best
- The flexibility that the “organic” process allows for (we went back and forth on the backyard water feature and in the end decided to go with it + we added add’l lighting that wasn’t in the original proposal)
- The speed with which he and Noe completed the work - the whole thing was done in < 6 weeks
- The handover walk through and accompanying plant map and instructions, which gave us some pride of ownership
- Brian’s responsiveness to our follow up questions after the job was completed
