I checked with 10+ HVAC companies from very small (2 man setups to large companies that service Home Depot). I think these folks have the best and most honest prices for HVAC in the bay area and will work with your budget. They do a very good job of checking all your ducts and current setup to let you know exactly what you need and won't price gouge you! I highly recommend Iris for your next HVAC project. Also If you have any other plumbing needs (e.g. water heater) they can give you a really good deal with their brother/sister company Jetpipe plumbing!

Outstanding furnace repair by Iris Mechanical. German was courteous, honest, and did high-quality work.

Feb 2025: Alex, the owner, is a honest man with prompt communication, and a natural problem solver. He takes pride in his work which I appreciate. He came to troubleshoot my furnace that went down, replaced the gas valve which was broken, but then more issues came up which he spent the time to continue to troubleshoot. Even though in the end, he couldn't fully address the issue without me replacing more parts, he tried his best to give me a temporary solution which he really didn't need to. He could have just said "you need to replace these parts" and left, but he didn't. I think he really just tried to help a customer, and solve a problem. I will recommend him to others and am seriously considering his company for a bigger project.

Update in March 2025: I decided to go with this company for new HVAC installation. I am more than thrilled with the entire process. Both Alex and Nikita (owners) are extremely professional and friendly. They don't take any shortcuts and take pride in their work which is not so common in my experience. Their pricing is also very competitive and they worked very hard to find the models that I will need. This is perhaps the best contractor experience I have had in many years here in the Bay Area. I would recommend anyone thinking about their HVAC needs to go with Iris Mechanical.

Iris Mechanical did an outstanding job installing the Nest thermostats in my mother-in-law’s house including providing the correct Nest units (I had purchased the incorrect ones) on the spot and performing work on the furnaces in the attic.
