Zenful Gardens turned my backyard mess into a zenful garden. Ryan and his team were creative and very punctual not to mention fun! I love working with them. I have new landscaping, redwood paths, and an outdoor kitchen, not to mention the lighting and outdoor bluetooth speaker!

We've recently moved to Sebastopol and faced an entirely empty back and side yard; we decided that we needed to consult a landscape architect to put incohate or tentative plans into some sort of order (we also weren't expert in landscape design and construction). We were referred to Zenful Gardens, and in our first consultation found that they had anticipated some of our goals and had intuited others. The plan and its execution transformed the space, from nothing (aside from one tree and a rose bush) to an outdoor garden and living space which will gradually grow more complete over time. In our case, Zenful Garden's design lived up to its name--not minimalist, but a controlled set of spaces, alternating pathways, garden beds, and gathering places, with trees and other plants providing screens and boundaries. Additional work on the front yard--a little more developed--the side yard, the driveway, and fences (adding to the original fence) provided finish and cohesion to the entire project.

Zenful Gardens also manages the entire project, in ongoing consultations with the clients. They were a pleasure to work with.

Zenful Gardens transformed my dark, chaotic, colorless front yard into an incredibly beautiful, calm and useable space. Ryan is a true artist, utilizing the finest materials, with attention to shape, texture, color and existing elements. Highlights include: LED lanterns illuminating my majestic maple tree, two complimentary colors of decomposed granite, silver and gold. Two exquisite arbors creating a meditation space. A faux creek bed mirroring the actual creek along my house spilling outside the fence. (Ryan knows the value of coloring outside the lines). And finally, the new Hog wire fence invites neighborhood connection.
Miguel and his team are professional, efficient and helpful. Together they installed a yard design beyond my wildest imagination.

I recently hired Zenful Gardens to completely redo my front yard areas. The project included slight grading, installation of about 17 trees, existing lawn removal, and prep and install new lawn and planter areas. They were absolutely wonderful to work with. First of all, their price was extremely competitive and more than fair. Miguel was very professional and kept communication open with me every step of the way, and always returned phone calls or texts immediately. They have a passion to do the job right and to produce the best-looking results for you. They are also flexible if changes arise. I cannot say enough good things about them. If you are lucky enough to have Miguel and/or Jeff working on your project, then expect nothing but great things! I would recommend them to anyone and would hire them back in a heart-beat!

We contacted Zenful Gardens to help us reimagine a small courtyard leading to our front door. An important factor was that our two dogs use the courtyard to “do their business,” so the landscaping had to accommodate that as well as serve as an attractive entrance to our home. Ryan came up with a beautiful and thoughtful design that included a custom water fountain/water feature, a stone bench, attractive and resilient hardscape and rocks, and lovely (even fragrant) plants. We now enjoy our outdoor space as much as the dogs do!

Zenful Gardens transformed our backyard of dirt, weeds and uneven ground into a family-friendly, backyard retreat. The team at Zenful Garden did an amazing job of solving some of the problems I was having in the back yard of my newly built home. The plans Ryan drew up were creative and amazing. We've worked in stages, first planting the trees and building my pergola. My favorite part is the floating steps that avoided bringing in tons of soil to bring the yard up to the deck. This summer all the plants, sod and the water feature was added to give me a very peaceful....Zen! Backyard. I'll try to get some photos up soon but I know they have posted a few. Overall one of the worst experiences I’ve had with a company in my life and a complete waste of money. I would have gotten more value using the money as toilet paper. Massive lack in communication and did not deliver. After months of going back and forth with the assigned person who was clearly over their head and did not deliver anything useful or usable they fired the inexperienced and inattentive person they assigned to my project and put it all on the poor new person they hired as a replacement. Management took no ownership to try and make up for the horrible service we were provided and put it all on the poor new person to resolve which by that time we were well underway with our project. They did however gladly take our money. Maybe if you have a large project in the tens of thousands of $’s they provide proper service. If you are just spending a few thousand I would recommend just reading up on the internet and watching YouTube which is what we ended up doing and designing everything ourselves.

Ryan, and the Zenful Gardens crew completely transformed my once overgrown & forgotten backyard, into a beautiful outdoor space that I couldn’t be happier about. Our new backyard is not only beautiful, but has become our favorite place to relax and enjoy a glass or two of our favorite wine together ;) Complete with patio and custom built pergola, we can’t wait for the sunny season to show off our awesome new space! We used Zenful Gardens for both the design and installation of our half-acre landscape renovation project. Ryan's design exceeded our expectations and he worked with us to determine a final scope that was within our budget without compromising on the look/feel we desired. Ryan landscaped our front yard 10 years ago. We went from a front lawn to a relaxing place to escape to. We have a gurgling fountain and the perfect place to have a glass of wine. People walk by all the time commenting on how nice it is. We haven’t been great on the upkeep so it is organized chaos but we love it. Here are 10 years ago and current photos.

I have major renovations going on both inside and outside my home in Sonoma CA. In addition, I spent many years in the commercial construction industry, thus I have years of experience with comparing and contrasting and choosing subcontractors. I was immediately struck by how different C.E. handles their business relationships as shortly before my project started the owner himself called me directly to introduce himself, to thank me for choosing his company and to assure me that I could contact him directly with any issues throughout the project. There were no issues except for some bad weather that caused delays. But each and every day the masonry crew would show up... EARLY. They'd check in with me with a cheerful hello and then immediately get down to business. The result was some absolutely gorgeous truly hand crafted stonework. I live in a fairly urban area, and anyone walking by my home immediately notices the quality and beauty of the work C.E. accomplished. And... to no surprise... I was again contacted by the owner at the conclusion of the project. He thanked me again! So here is my thank you to him: You're in good hands with these guys. Price, Quality and Service... you can only choose two of these... so choose Creative Environments and relax. They'll get it done right.

We had Creative Environments work on two large landscaping/building projects for us and they are also our weekly yard maintenance. The two large projects exceeded our expectations! We worked closely with Creative in collaborating on the design of the projects (an outdoor kitchen/patio space and bocce/games area). Together with the Creative team we were able to build areas we love and use all the time. For our weekly yard maintenance, we have a team we can totally trust; they help us with water management, re-plantings and general maintenance. They have an attention to all the little details and ensure that our yard looks well-kept. They treat it like their own. Whether it is a huge project or weekly maintenance, Creative is a fantastic choice!

We recently bought a place that needed a LOT of landscaping work. We talked to several companies before going with Creative Environments. Harry and his company are extremely helpful and terrific to deal with. Harry told us the good and bad about our yard and didn't pull punches. He was clear about the costs. And most importantly, he did outstanding work. We were unable to be on-site with his crew, but when we arrived home it was miraculous. They cleared the yard in ways we hadn't imagined. Fixed the seemingly unfixable. It looked great. It's growing in great. And their prices are the same as other companies we spoke to, if not less expensive.

Everyone that we've dealt with at Creative Environments has been terrific and top-notch professional. Every time we look at the work they've done, we're reminded how lucky we are that we went with them. We'd recommend them HIGHLY.

I would highly recommend them for design, install, and maintenance to those who are particular and want outstanding service. They did a beautiful job on our flagstone patio around our pool and an additional patio by our waterfall. They worked fast, were very professional, and had great ideas on how to best use our space. Creative Environments did a complete overhaul of our backyard including: installing retaining walls, planting a lawn, building blue stone pathways and stairs, landscape architecture, and planting and irrigation. From start to finish the whole team was very responsive to our needs, and they clearly have very skilled craftsmen doing the work.They were also a pleasure to work with: if any issues came up during the project, they were always quick to address it and make it right. All in all, they did a really nice job and we are very happy.
