Danny and the Simply Great Remodeling team were by far the best contractors/home remodelers I’ve worked with in my many years of homeownership. We recently completed a large flooring project with them where our ~3000sqft home had all of the existing flooring removed, subfloor leveled, and new luxury vinyl plank installed. From the initial meeting to the very last day of the project, Danny and the entire crew were extremely friendly, understanding, sympathetic, and were excellent communicators. Danny was always within easy reach via a text or phone call. The crew always showed up on time or early, took great care of the home, were enjoyable to work with (and just generally cool, nice people), and cleaned up after themselves (both inside and out). It is also important to mention that every single employee I worked with from Simply Great Remodeling took great pride in their work, and offered multiple solutions to various challenges and unforeseen issues that we encountered (as always happens with any construction project). On many occasions, the crew took extra time to propose multiple solutions to these challenges to ensure we were 100% happy. They also all enjoyed working for Danny, and were happy to be doing their job, which I have found to be extremely rare in the construction business. Now look, these guys definitely aren’t the cheapest contractors out there, but you REALLY do get what you pay for — trust me, I’ve been there…you don’t want to look at your floor or your kitchen or your bathroom EVERY day and wish you had spent just a little more to not have some sloppy mess. So please, consider Danny and Simply Great Remodeling as your go-to guys for any serious remodel. You won’t be disappointed!

I recently had the pleasure of working with The Soho team.
They did an amazing job with our living room remodel, new doors and windows install.
They were on schedule, budget efficient and kind.
Everyone we worked with, from proposal to work on site, were nice, thoughtful, diligent and solution-oriented.
Very impressive company with great customer service.
We appreciated how thorough they were with our needs and attention to details.
If you’re looking for a reliable, skilled, and customer-focused company, I highly recommend SoHo Construction Co. Their work has exceeded our expectations, and we will definitely be reaching out to them for future projects. -
We hired Soho to replace the flat areas of our roof before we started a reno.
Soho hired sub contractors who hired sub contractors- we were told they were soho employees, not true. Nir/Brandon had no clue of who was doing the job or how badly it was done . You can see the unprofessional job that was done when the wet drywall was removed from the leaking ceiling in the dining room. They left old roof that should have been replaced among other issues. The other photos you see water dripping. Every area of our roof they touched leaked.
Nir said he stands behind his work- though it is suppose to be guaranteed for 2 years- these issues were within weeks of roof replacement. We did not hire Soho for the Reno. -
We were so lucky to have found SOHO. We purchased a home in Encinitas that need an enormous amount of work. We interviewed many designers and contractors before being referred to Gil Berkovich Interior Design. Meeting with Gil was a breath of fresh air, she is a delight and took the time to get to know us and understand who we are in order to provide us with a home to match our needs, wants and personalities. When we shared with Gil that we were not having luck finding a contractor we felt had integrity and a true desire to be the very best for our needs, she introduced us to the owner of SOHO, Nir Berkovich. Nir took a great deal of time with us to answer all of the many questions we had as well as many we didn’t even know to ask. After a couple of hours with Nir we were very clear that this was the best company, not only to meet our needs, but the best company we could possibly hope to work with. We are so incredibly happy we chose them and they chose us. SOHO works like no other contracting company we have employed. We are picky people and we have never had an experience with a contractor that was SO positive. The project was huge and SOHO was on top of every permit, every design, every inch of space. They guided us through the process, explaining every step of the way. They took this house down to the studs and rebuilt it based on Gil’s designs as well as the designs of SOHOs amazing architect, Matan Chaffee. Our forever home came to life before our eyes. This company is so organized they let you know what is happening each week. They have a special communication hub email system to assure everyone is informed about the process. We have spent two years working with them and they are truly perfectionists. SOHO assigned us an amazing project manager in Brandon. He is so easy to work with and he can do anything. Our home is a work of art and a dream come true. If we have an issue with anything we contact SOHO and they respond and take action quickly. The guys who work for SOHO are extremely kind, talented, hardworking and ethical. We love them so much we have hired them back and asked them to build two studios for us on our property. Matan, who is a true artist, has done an amazingly beautiful and detailed job on the designs. Bottom line, I couldn’t recommend this company more strongly. We absolutely adore everyone who works at SOHO and we actually miss them, we are looking forward to seeing the team again as these buildings go up. If you need a contractor, you can trust team SOHO. Nir is honest and the prices are fair, especially given the quality of work. Do yourself a favor, alleviate any potential stress by hiring SOHO. If you are really lucky, you can hire Gil Berkovich as well, the combination of the two is truly magical. We are forever grateful. Side note: when our friends walk into our home for the first time, nine out of 10 gasp at the beauty.

Our vision was to remodel our guest bedroom, enlarging it and adding a bathroom. Unfortunately, our city would not approve adding additional square feet to our existing house. We interviewed local building contractors for the bedroom remodel. We chose Soho Construction to build our now smaller bathroom addition. Nir and the Soho team were eager to help us with our project, even though it was much smaller than our original vision. My wife and I have done remodeling projects and a complete house build in another state. We like to be ‘active’ in the design and materials selection. We enjoy the work! The Soho Construction team has worked with owners who prefer to be hands-off or owners like us who want to be part of the team. Soho team members were very considerate during construction. They worked hard at minimizing noise and keeping the project area clean. Our agreed goal with Soho was to add a bathroom that matched the quality of our house. We achieved that goal! Now that our project is complete, we can easily recommend and refer our family and friends to Soho Construction!

The Soho team did a fantastic job with our kitchen remodel along with new windows install. They were completely on schedule and on budget. Everyone who worked on site and back of house were kind, diligent and solutions finders - we never had problems! Such an impressive company and lightyears ahead of other construction companies for dedication to customer service. Highly recommend.

SoHo did an excellent job helping us create our dream bathroom! We were not planning to do a remodel, but due to an unfortunate and unexpected flooding incident, we were in need of immediate reconstruction. I reached out to a friend whose bathroom remodel I loved and she referred me to SoHo.
SoHo manages the labor side of the house, while clients are responsible for ordering and purchasing the materials needed. This gives you autonomy in suppliers and we were able to mix and match materials to meet our design dreams within our budget. They utilize a great project management software that made this process very organized. My recommendation would be to select materials early given the lengthy lead times that can exist.
SoHo was very helpful with us in regards to the portion of our work that was covered by our insurance claim and worked to separate out all invoices for insurance related expenses so that we could keep neat records for our claim.
Once the project started, we were fortunate enough to work with Eyal. He managed our project and the various contractors working in our home. We appreciated his thorough oversight of their work which made us both feel safe with so many people coming in and out of home and know that the job would be done well. He moved with urgency- managing our timeline proactively to get things done and making adjustments to spare us from any gaps in repair. He was highly communicative with us and even when he wasn't at our house, he was easy to reach via text or call. On top of it all, he's just a great human being- very kind, friendly and caring! Everyone that came into our home was actually very friendly and positive and it made for as pleasant of an experience as remodeling could be.
The final product looks stunning and we're in love with our new bathroom! -
We’ve had the opportunity to work with SoHo Construction as the interior design team on two bathroom projects, and the experience has been excellent each time. They brought our design vision to life with great attention to detail, clear communication, and quality execution. The process was smooth from start to finish, and the final result reflected exactly what we had envisioned. We're looking forward to working together again in the future! -LS Design Studio

We hired SoHo Construction to build our dream home and they did just that! We bought a home built in 1978 that was outdated and in need of love. Through the entire process, member of the SoHo team were professional, communicated well, and brought the project in on time. The vendors were all wonderful. They were clean and respectful. I have recommended SoHo to several people. I cannot say enough about the people and the work of everyone at SoHo.

We had a great experience working with Atlas! Everything was handled professionally, efficiently, and great attention to detail. Communication was clear and consistent, the crew showed up on time, and the work was completed exactly as promised. They were to work with and genuinely committed to making sure we were happy with the results. The quality of the work exceeded our expectations.

I cannot be convinced that this is a professional company. They were hired to build ADUs at the apartment complex I live at in Escondido and there have been a lot of issues with the crews working on site.
They finished well behind schedule. Dave Arnold told me they’d be done by January 1. That wasn’t true. They didn’t end up finished until mid April.
They built the new structure the minimum legal distance from the exterior wall of my apartment. I come home one day to see one of the workers CUTTING OFF A PORTION OF THE OVERHANG ON MY APARTMENT. I asked the worker what was going on and he told me that the plans got messed up and buildings were too close together so they had to cut a part of my roof. A few weeks prior to this I overheard the city inspector while he was he on the property. He said “that’s too close” while referring to the distance between my overhang and the new structure that they just built. I called Dave, one of the owners of the company, for clarification. He blamed it on the city inspector by saying that his plans were correct and that the city inspector was being nit-picky but insisted that he was in the right.
They hired a third party company to erect the frame of the new structure. At the end of each work day, the crew of framers would hang out in our parking lot and slam beers for over an hour. Drinking in the parking lot was consistent throughout the entirety of the time they were here.
The plumbers they hired were responsible for flooding my apartment. They were working on the pipes and had to place a test plug into the pipes. They didn’t take the plug out when they left for the weekend. This backed up the system and ended up flooding my apartment. What kind of professionals would make a major mistake like that? The emergency plumber that came out to fix the issue just laughed at the incompetence of the plumbers hired to work here.
This company really doesn’t care about who their worksite is affecting and they don’t even make an attempt to hide that. They’re well behind schedule for their project here and to make up for that they have their crews here late during the week, on some Sundays, and even on federal holidays. Construction in the city of Escondido is not permitted on Sundays or holidays unless it’s by the homeowner. Atlas Construction is not the owner of this property therefore they are not allowed to working on those days. But they do anyway because they don’t care enough to 1. Research the area they are working and 2. Listen to the residents that live here or property management.
They made a complete mess of the property and barely cleaned up. They dirtied the existing buildings and instead of cleaning repainting they only painted half of the walls at an attempt to clean up.
There’s a long laundry list of other issues but those are the main problems that we’ve had. Dave has told me on numerous occasions that they’re a “professional company” but if you have to plead that to someone that makes me believe otherwise. They don’t have much a presence online in terms of reviews. Their website only provides positive reviews (obviously). To be completely honest, I wouldn’t trust this company to even demolish something the right way. They’d find a way to mess that up too.
Overall, they do things cheap and it reflects in their work. I find it funny that the group of guys that started the project was completely different by the time they finally finished. If you want a group of unprofessionals to butcher a project for you definitely hire Atlas. -
Atlas helped us build a duplex and the experience was a breeze all the way through. As a small family company, they really took the time to understand my goals, worries, and it never felt uneasy. They were great to work with, very knowledgeable, professional, and got the job done quick!
