This seems to be a larger company that then shops the work out to local handymen. I was on the phone and did an intake call with them and then the operator sent me off to another intake operator, who would help me find a carpenter for the job. Lots of talk and no carpenters.

EDIT 10/14 I will bump up the review from 2 to 3 stars as the owner of the company wrote me back re the review. As a courtesy I called them again and they did a much better job managing their intake process. They got a former GC out to me pretty quick to quote me for the install of two new doors. The process felt very much like an uber for contractors, later I found out that they are a franchise which explains my first exp. On the plus side, they sent out a guy who did have 50+ yrs exp on the job. However during the quote he mentioned several times that "this is a big job" which seems odd as this is most def not a big job, though I am aware contractors use that term to prep the client for a large quote.

The quote came back as $3200 for two doors to be installed. Just the mill work for the new hinges, locks and latches as well as to trim and install the door so it fits the old frame. Thats $1600 per door. I will leave it up the the reader to decided if they would pay someone $3200 to install two doors.

Daniel did a great job of replacing most of the house foundation vents to help keep the rats out. He also made a cover for the crawl space with hinges and a handle. It looks spiffy and is easy to use. He even set two rat traps to place in the space under the house for any rat that was trapped there. Great work. Timely done and very pleasant. Thank you Handyman and

During a carpet removal/install we discovered that a loud creak in the upstairs bedroom was going to require more than a few floor screws. Found Handyman Connection on the Internet and checked out some of the reviews, most of which were overwhelmingly positive.
They sent out Patrick, the same day I called, to give an estimate. The estimate was fair and Patrick had the tools to find the wood structure underneath, open up the exact right section the floor, fix that loud creak as well as find and fix a number of different smaller ones. All this while we stood and watched as well as listened to what he was doing, except during the operation of a power saw.
Overall it was a very good, instructive and friendly experience and I would highly recommend their service.

This was the worst experience we’ve had with a service provider. We scheduled them to paint our front door based on their decent reviews. The craftswoman they sent wasn’t mentioned in any review but I was open-minded about that. She was late both for the estimate and the job. To be fair, she was very pleasant and worked hard. I noticed that a couple of things she said didn’t quite match up to what her boss, Nestor, had told me, but I let that go. She did a fairly good job on the door though she missed a few areas. All that was fine - what was not fine was the fact that she dumped a lot of paint in the garage sink and it backed up. She then denied it though I sent pics showing the paint. I have to say that though she did this, she was still very polite, which I appreciate. I then called Nestor (who had been extremely nice and accommodating in terms of scheduling initially) and he was absolutely rude and unprofessional. He talked over me all the time, said that the clog was because we had done prior work on the house. (That is ridiculous- the sink was clean and in perfect working order till the paint episode. The pics I sent them clearly showed it was paint coming up.). Then he tried to lecture me - I honestly don’t know why a paper pusher at a handyman franchise thinks he is in a position to educate me on life. He finally said he would “look into the matter to see if I was telling the truth”. Then I didn’t hear from him. When I asked him for the owner’s number, he responded politely that he was working on it but didn’t provide the number. Then silence again. He didn’t have any trouble scheduling a handyman at my convenience when he first took the job, so the sudden unavailability of handymen was puzzling. At this point, I asked my husband to take over as I really didn’t want to deal with this man again. Nestor then called 2 days later and said their craftsman could be here in an hour. As usual, his tone was condescending. We explained that we have jobs and meetings and couldn’t blow them off at an hour’s notice. At this point, he started talking over my husband again and became incredibly disrespectful. We’ve had enough and don’t want to deal with them again except through legal channels. The paint clog ( TOXIC SLUDGE) has spread to our bbq sink and we have no idea how much their screw-up will cost us. I’m going to report them to the Better Business Bureau and have our lawyer take this further.
Any one can make a mistake but to not take responsibility and be obnoxious is unacceptable. To be completely fair, I doubt the owner, George, knows about this as Nestor wouldn’t give me his number.
Stay clear of these guys. There are dozens of professional handymen in the Bay Area.

Beautifully repaired and replaced the wall surfaces in my laboratory bathroom

The attached pictures speak for themselves. We chose to upgrade the bathroom walls with giant one-piece porcelain tiles more resistant to hard use, and new more heavily chromed shower fixtures. It was an extremely challenging job due to the weight and size of the tiles. It took great skill to maneuver these into such a tight space. Patrick Riesch and Alisha F were careful, and detail-oriented craftsmen. We would use the Handyman Connection again.

John was very friendly and professional and provided a high level of knowledge and expertise in the installation of shelves and the mounting of the spines of those shelves into studs to ensure a permanent and solid structure. I am absolutely confident that these shelves are structurally safe and will not fall even in the event of a strong earthquake, as it is my belief, that the shelves are mounted that well. I am very pleased with John's performance and will call on John and and the Handyman Connection for any and all future projects. John went above and beyond the call of duty to ensure that this project exceeded my expectations.
    Thank you!

I had a list of tasks that Carlos tackled one by one, did quality work, did more than I asked for, and was all done quickly and cleanly. I will not hesitate to call on them again with my next list of chores.

I recommend this company whole-heartedly since their quote and onboarding process was also efficient and they were respectful of my time and my home.

Patrick came over for an estimate to add an electrical outlet to our mantle and move our Coaxial Cable/internet hookup. He was on time (even early), efficient, and very polite/professional. Quote was received about an hour later and we scheduled the work for 2 days later!

The project ended up being more difficult than anticipated, but Patrick was patient and explained the problems to me- there was no way he could have known or predicted the issues until he cut into the wall (seems to always be the case!) and he graciously spent the better part of the day working on what was thought to be a quick project. Cleaned/vacuumed the area he was working in, and did a great job repairing a whole in the drywall that he had to cut into for access!

Very happy with the service and will be calling them back soon for more projects!

We used John from Handyman Connection on multiple properties in the Bay Area, and appreciated his work ethic and positive attitude. He showed up on time and stayed late to finish the jobs and did everything we asked. We also spoke with George, the owner of the company, when we had an issue and he was kind to remedy it for us in a professional and courteous manner. We will definitely use Handyman Connection again in the future. Five stars!

Stan went above and beyond my requests to patch some holes, repair termite damage, and bolster crumbling cement. He not only fixed everything, he made it beautiful! And sturdy. He had a very good eye for design. He had suggestions on how my kids and I could use simple techniques to continue making our home a delight to look at as well as use. I love walking past our back door now. I feel like we were visited by the Mary Poppins of home improvement. Thanks, Handyman Connection!

Nemias was the gentleman that came to our house to help repair it his work skills and work ethics was impressive.I know this, because I used to be in the pinning trade. The point of excellence is something that the owner Henry strives for. It was a pleasure meeting him and his wife. Couldn't ask for better!

Kudos to Alisha sent by Handyman to fix my long ignored list of items that needed repair. She quickly assessed what needed to be done, then either had with her or went out and found the parts needed to fix each project. She even discovered a serious error made by a previous contractor. I will certainly request her in the future when a need arises.

Handyman Connection was a great company to work with! Ricardo came out quickly and looked at our bathroom remodel project following up with a reasonable bid.
Alisha then came to do the work. She was great! She was a pleasure to work with; a good listener, communicator, problem-solver, detail oriented with the appropriate skills and experience to do a great job! And a really kind person.
I look forward to working with Alisha, Ricardo and Handyman Connection again for future projects.
    Thank you!

Needed plumbing and exterior repair work done and wanted the assurance of hiring a licensed contractor with a warranty on work performed. Patrick replaced two dated shower systems, rusty drain seals, and water heater fittings; Johnny cut out and replaced / patched exterior fascia boards, reset a wobbly fence post, and rehung an exterior door. Both showed up when promised, were pleasant to work with, and sourced materials that I didn’t have onsite, all for a fair price. Very satisfied and would not hesitate to hire Handyman Connection again.

George and team are excellent. I have referred them to many clients and also worked beside them on high end remodeling projects as well. The work was impeccable and the clients were super happy. His team are not just "handymen" but true craftsmen. Highly Recommended!

We had a great experience with Alisha, our repair person from Handyman Connection. Alisha took pride in the quality of her work, making sure the job was done to her and our satisfaction. She was friendly, trustworthy, and punctual, showing care for the house and community.

Additionally, I appreciated Handyman Connection’s billing transparency, which is not always easy to find. We got a quote ahead of time, they updated it when the scope changed, and they honored their original quote even after the work took a bit longer than estimated.

My landlord and I are both happy with Handyman Connection and will request Alisha again next time we have a list of jobs.

He did a great job. He gave very useful suggestions when I described to him my ideas for the shelve heights. He cleaned up the areas after he completed the job. He was professional and polite.

Liked the 3 handymen who replaced my bathroom ceiling which required 3 steps
    with drying time in between.
. Job was done well and looks good as new.

    Hired via Thumbtack.

I had a really bad and unprofessional experience with the Handyman Connection of Mountain View. They first said the labor would be $1200 and promised the worst case scenario to be in the $2000 range. But after they started working and made a big hole in my bathroom, the price suddenly shot up to $5200+, which was not okay.

I found lots of things that didn't add up like charging twice for dismantling the floor etc. They didn't give clear answers; their story and the price kept changing.

I found the whole thing to be shady and unethical. I ended up getting the same job done by someone else from Thumbtack for $2200.

What should have been a quick two-day fix turned into a stressful week because of Handyman Connection. The worker who came to my house seemed good, but because of the contractor and company's unfair pricing and lack of honesty, I won't use them again and don't recommend them.

Update: Owner response to this review is far from reality, I got the same job done with all the demolition in half of the cost.
Also highlighting that my review was more on the unethical practices than cost. They try to sneak in unnecessary charges and when I pointed out they increased the labor cost and made random excuses. Trying to cut a deal outside the main contract etc is clearly shady.

We had a great experience working with Handyman Connection! Their team helped us assemble furniture for our new shop, and they were professional, punctual, and incredibly efficient. Every piece was put together with care, and their attention to detail made the entire setup process smooth and stress-free. We’re so grateful for their support during this busy time and highly recommend them to anyone in need of reliable and skilled handyman services!
