We searched for a good landscaper for a long time and decided on Sacred Space after carefully reviewing their work. We wanted to have our medium-sized front & back yard landscaped, new sprinklers installed, our cement patio extended & for it to be flagstone, and cement behind our garage for our trash barrels. I wanted curved lines in most of the landscaping & patio. Sacred Space does beautiful work with native plants, but I have a love of perennials for our Tudor style house. I had a list of many plants that I wanted and Karen incorporated many of her knowledgeable, expertise in plants. She presented very detailed plans where each plant would go. Around the rim of our front yard now are gorgeous perennials and some natives in shades of pink, yellow, lavender – just beautiful. The flagstone patio in shades of pink was done by their expert craftsman. Not everyone has the skill needed to work with flagstone. He did. Karen lined up the work schedule so every day there were plans of what to do next. We are very satisfied with the outcome – just love looking at our garden. Karen was very pleasant to work with – a true artist. The crew were very nice. I would definitely hire them again.

We hired Sacred Space to landscape our front and back yards, including design, irrigation, and lighting, after an extensive home addition/remodel project. We were burned out on contractors and construction (and so was our yard!). With Karen Miller of Sacred Space, we finally found a contractor that does things the right way, the first time. How refreshing! Karen and her team really made the completion of our whole project end on a high note. She was so easy to work with, paid attention to what we wanted, and designed a beautiful garden that met our needs, fit our tastes and budget, and exceeded our expectations. Our yard looks fantastic and they did everything that they said they would do (and more!) in a very timely, neat, and professional manner. The garden is thriving and we get constant compliments from friends and neighbors. We highly recommend them!

amazing experience working with FormLA team!!!!

FormLA was taking care of my front yard since January 2018. I fired them recently for flagrantly ignoring my very specific, detailed instructions on what _not_ to cut back in my yard. Over the past 18 months, though, I had several problems with them.

On their first visit, they removed dormant milkweed plants. I had specifically pointed out that these plants were dormant, not dead (although, being "native plant experts", you'd think they wouldn't even need to be told). They replaced the plants, but the replacements still haven't gotten as big as one of the ones they had removed.

I asked them to focus on weeding the parkway areas. Being on a corner lot means there's a lot of parkway, and while I do have lippia planted there, the weeds were also quite present. Months went by and it didn't seem like they were doing anything about the weeds. When I finally asked one of the workers to focus on that, he complained, "That's going to be a lot of work!" Um, that's literally what you're being paid to do (and paid nicely -- $375/month for 18 months is almost $7000!).

The workers would cut back my plants far too much, even though I really like the jungle look in my yard (and said so from the beginning). They also didn't pay attention to the seasons, so some things that should've been cut back when dormant weren't cut; they just like sculpting and manicuring the plants, as far as I can tell.

The last straw for me was when I specifically told them not to cut my artichoke plants (not native, but still had edible parts growing on it) and my coyote brush (overhanging a path that isn't used much, and probably could be tied back instead), and only lightly trim the black sage. What they did instead was a complete massacre of my plants, and now that we're entering the slow growth season, I see my horrendously bald front yard every day and regret not firing them sooner.

If you don't care much about your plants, or your money, you found the right landscaping company!

Probably the worst experience I’ve had with a company I wouldn’t hire them again if they would offer to do it for free

This company designed and planted the gardens at my local library. The idea was a California Native Plant garden. Well, perhaps the gardeners should have noticed a problem when they labeled a substantial number of the plants "Idaho Fescue". The invasive and Non-native species in our native garden outnumber the natives. They banked on librarians not knowing native from invasive, and took advantage of that to plant Mediterranean strawberry trees, grasses, and lavender. Hilariously, the library also requested a Mediterranean garden on the other side of the property, in which they placed....native California yarrow. Any company accepting a project like this should have the decency to do a Google search before placing signs reading "California Native Garden" in the midst of Non-native grass species
