The 1Solar folks have always been very helpful with explaining the details regarding my solar system's performance. And I appreciated Eric's honesty during my recent system review when he said that there really would be no advantage to adding extra panels to my roof when all of the appropriate factors are considered.

I have had the system installed by 1 Solar for about a year or so now. It is a new system. This summer, my system wasn't functioning right. I looked into and found that the microconverter wasn't working. I contacted Emphase who supplied the materials. They sent it immediately and explained that the business that installed my solar system would need to change it. I contacted Valor Solar, not sure how they work with 1Solar but both have emailed me to let me know their business is too busy to respond to my situation. I contact them on July 15th. It is now over a month (August 17th) and I have not been contacted to set up a date by a technician to come address the matter. They have explained that they have been very busy this summer which I understand. However, I am paying a lot of money for this system. It is unacceptable and poor business that that do not have a process to ensure current customers are taken care of in a reasonable amount of time. Not to mention, I asked if I could change it out myself, no response! Though I believe I should not be the one to fix it. I was told by a representative that it would take 2-3 weeks before someone could come out to take care of it. My system is not working correctly and I find it incredibly discouraging that I am about to go on week 5 and still no effort to set a date to repair it. With all that being said, I do not recommend utilizing either Valor or 1 Solar. Hopefully, there is an effort to address this matter soon.

I’ve had nothing but problems with 1Solar on my solar addition project. We’ve had over five failed inspections, all due to poor planning and lack of communication on their part. As a result, my solar array has been inactive for months, costing me money every single day it sits unused. The process has been frustrating, with no sense of urgency or accountability from the company. I do not recommend 1Solar to anyone looking for a reliable or professional solar installation experience.

We deeply regret ending up with a solar panel system installed and serviced by 1Solar, because everything about the experience has been time-consuming, frustrating, and incredibly disappointing. From the beginning, the system has never performed as sold and promised.

It took over a month of repeated follow-up before 1Solar proposed any kind of resolution. When they finally addressed the issue, 1Solar admitted to making a mistake during the original estimation and design process—but their team also openly stated that the company doesn't want to pay to fix it. They later began citing a lower threshold for guaranteed production that was never mentioned during the sales process. Even by that newly introduced limit, the system still continues to underperform.

Worse, 1Solar’s customer service has been unresponsive, difficult to work with, and at times dismissive and bullying. It has taken nearly two months of back-and-forth to get even minimal clarity, and during that time, the company has refused to take accountability or offer any meaningful remedy for the financial harm caused by their design errors—even though we are still under warranty.

I strongly caution anyone considering 1Solar—our experience has shown the risks aren’t worth it. Also be aware that they sell systems through third-party vendors. You may not get what you paid for—and should be prepared to deal with a company that operates in bad faith to avoid taking responsibility when problems arise.

Had a good experience overall. There was communication throughout the whole process. Ben let me know ahead of time that Xcel and the city can sometimes be slow with approvals, and reassured me that if I didn’t hear from him, it meant things were moving along smoothly. To my surprise, the system was installed in about 45 days and it looks great.

Last year 1 solar hooked up our solar panels, on 9/24/2021.
1 Solar employees drilled a hole into my roof and just filled it with caulk, and did not replace it with a new shingle.
I was told this would be addressed but it was never taken care of and no one from the support team is responding to this issue.

1 Solar also ran a conduit along my roof (Which looks terrible), apposed to going through the attic. They decided to cut through another shingle to do a right angle turn.

Avoid this company

This company is awful - avoid at all costs. We have had our panels for about 4-5 years. For the past year, they have not been producing and it's been hell trying to get a tech to come fix them. We never hear from them to schedule, they randomly send a text that they are coming by and then they don't show up. I have been paying for both the panels and now an electric bill monthly. AVOID THEM!

Very shady company when all is said and done. I’ve had my solar panels through one solar for just short of four years and recently have had issues with my inverter box communicating properly. When I reached out for support I wasn’t given any solutions other than to spend additional money to have parts that should be under warranty replaced for an extra cost along with charging for a tech to come out. Customer service never reached back out with the quote and I’ve had to call the company at least a half dozen times with little resolve. Please avoid this company if considering getting solar.
