Constraction reviews in Denver, Colorado

So glad we chose SBD for our flooring install. Zach was personable and responsive to our financial limitations. He provided excellent input on some special needs that we had. We delayed our date a couple times which did not seem to be a problem for SDB. The installers did an excellent job and finished in the expected time frame. Our new floors look amazing!!

We just finished the design phase of our Pop-Top with SDB and they have all of the contacts. The team at SDB brought in a qualified designer, structural engineer, asbestos and lead tester, blower door tester, Manual JDS tester, etc. We are about to embark on the build change so I'm looking forward to writing another 5 star review.

1 year update: We have passed the 1-year mark since moving back into our home after SDB added a second floor, remodeled the first floor and remodeled the basement. We have not had 1 issue and the build quality is excellent. 1-year later and we still love our home and the work done by SDB. Thank you!

SDB did a beautiful job on our basement remodel, incorporating our needs into a a design that worked with the limited options a old bungalow basement has to offer. The finish work was top notch. They've also responded quickly and effectively to a few small follow up fixes. We definitely recommend Sustainable Build Design.

We worked with SBD for our pop top in the Berkeley neighborhood in Denver. We blew out a bedroom and expanded the kitchen on the main floor and added 3 beds and 2 baths on the new floor. We definitely recommend SDB. Derek walked us through the design process so patiently and helped us envision what we wanted and needed really before we even knew. We primarily worked with Josh (our PM), Luke, and Tommy and couldn’t have asked for a better team. Our interactions felt more than just transactional. They made us feel like no question was too small or insignificant. Most importantly, the quality of our home is wonderful and it’s well built. We are so happy with our new home. Our one critique is that we would have liked more expertise around making our home all electric and as green as possible. My husband (who works in solar) ended up doing a lot of the legwork for this. Otherwise, we were very happy. Thank you SDB! We appreciate you guys.

We had a fantastic experience with the Sustainable Design Build team. We worked closely with Mike and Derek throughout the project and they were consistently responsive and great listeners- always able to clearly explain why something was a particular way or how things could be changed to meet our needs. Critically they are a company that keeps their word. We ended up having to move half way through out project and the team was very accommodating on figuring out a clean way to wind down the process in a way that was fair for everybody. My wife and I were super impressed with their professionalism and honesty throughout the process and would definitely recommend them to anyone who is considering going through a major remodel and needs help with either the design or construction aspects of their project.

Everyone with Sustainable Design Build has been fantastic to work with. We have worked with them as their electrician and always enjoy working with them. Josh is easy to get a hold of a extremely responsive. I've also seen the work they do for their customers first hand and highly recommend them!

We hired Sustainable Design Build to design and build our basement bathroom and refinish our basement bedroom. Jon and his team did an excellent job with the design, prepared a competitive and fair quote, and got right to work. Having been in Denver for 5 years and struggled to find any reliable contractors, SDB had a stable full of professional contractors for each part of the job (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, Paint, Tile, etc.). They ensured great work and that everything was up to code. For the miscellaneous pieces of the job, Josh and others on the SDB team were responsive and skilled to ensure the smallest details were not missed. When small issues came up, as they do with a project this size, Josh was timely and made sure things were done right. I definitely recommend SDB for anyone looking for help with their remodel and plan to use their services again in the future very soon.

As a Denver Real Estate Broker, I’m always looking for trusted partners who share my commitment to integrity, professionalism, and client care and Sustainable Design Build truly stands out here in Denver.

I love being able to offer my clients more than just a real estate transaction, and remodels or home additions are a big part of how I help them continue building value and comfort after they buy. The SDB team makes that next step easy with high-level communication, in-house architectural and interior design services, and an incredibly organized, transparent process that keeps every project on track and visible to the owners.

They genuinely care about helping people bring their vision to life, and that’s exactly the kind of team I feel confident connecting my clients with. If you’re planning a home addition or full design-build project in Denver, you’ll be glad you reached out to them.

I’ve worked with SDB on multiple projects now and they always hold themselves to a very high standard. They are easy to work with, timely, and have a good deal of integrity, unlike a lot of other contractors around. Five stars!

I highly recommend Sustainable Design Build for any future design needs you might have! They were wonderful to work with, and their attention to detail was second to none! Designers Megan and Mallen were wonderful to work with along with the rest of the staff we encountered. I will definitely use Sustainable Design Build for my future projects!

I recently reached out for an estimate on a home addition, and I couldn’t be more impressed with the professionalism from start to finish. They showed up on time, walked me through every detail of the project, and answered all my questions clearly. It’s rare to find a builder in Denver who combines great communication, transparency, and true craftsmanship, but these guys do exactly that. If you’re looking for a trustworthy team for a home addition or any major project, I highly recommend them — top-notch experience all around.

We reached out to Sustainable Design build while looking at different general contractors for our home in Denver. Being in the very early stages, we weren't sure about which direction to go with our home whether it would be a pop top and building a home addition or remodeling our whole house. From the very beginning, the team was straightforward and transparent about what was realistic for our house and budget. They were educated and knowledgeable about Denver building codes, we even learned we could build an ADU if we wanted to. Mike was especially helpful, laying out what our home actually could be within the budget we set, which was nice comparatively to some other companies we talked with who just seemed ready to sign us on without much of an idea.

SDB's responsiveness was the best part, from the start all of their team was involved. They even have in-house architects and interior designers presenting plans on paper for us to look at. They made sure we knew all the possibilities for our home and made sure we understood what every step would be like before committing to anything. Working with SDB was confidence inspiring for such a big undertaking our family was exploring.

This company was fantastic. Excellent craftsmanship and value. I feel like my dollars were well spent. Good communication and follow through. Highly recommend.

Great team that took care of everything I needed done to get my house redone. Great communication as well.

Denver Handyman really delivered for me both on timing and on quality of work. I was facing a nightmare situation caused by unruly tenants, and these guys handled the worst for me, making the place look almost new again.

Andrew came and installed a microwave that Home Depot refused to mount. His scheduling, communication, pricing, and work were greatly appreciated!!!

Andrew was very easy to work with. He did a great job on an outlet I needed him to replace. Fast & courteous.

Andrew has completed a number of projects at my properties and I would highly recommend! Projects included: drywall, fixing / hanging items on walls, painting, hardware replacements, etc.

Andrew is fantastic. Not only is he great at repair work, but he professionally and calmly dealt with the added chaos of two young and curious kids who wanted to watch him do his work. Highly recommend!

Andrew provided interior and exterior painting work for us. He was great to work with. His communication was excellent and he made everything look great.

Andrew was great! He came in the morning of my phone call request and did a great job. Would definitely recommend Andrew. He is great!
