Waste Connections purchased the company I'd been using for years, Pro-Disposal. Their operations during this merger period has been poorly managed. They have been late to pick up my trash several times and twice they have missed it completely in 3 month's time. When I called to let them know, the customer server rep was not able to get through to dispatch and I was told that they'd just pick up extra trash on my next service date. In one instance I had to call 3 times and sat on hold for more that 2 1/2 hours total.

I would highly recommend that you look elsewhere for trash service. This company is doing a very poor job and are not able to offer much to resolve problems when they occur. The quality of the service has decreased while their prices have steadily risen. In addition to the missed service they regularly leave my recycle bins and trash can blocking the sidewalk or in the street. Customer service reps have readily admitted to me that the operations were "crazy" during the merger, but things are better now but still not good.

I first signed up for trash service with Pro Disposal in 2006. The business was sold at least one or two times (or maybe more) since then, and now I'm with Waste Connections.
We had a really heavy snowstorm in late May which broke a lot of branches off of my trees. I have always cut branches down to ~36" and bundled them up with nylon rope in manageable sizes. To get rid of the bundles, I would put out between 1-4 bundles a week and my trash service would take them away......until now.
My trash (4 bundles of branches, one 35 gallon trash bag and about 6 broken down boxes) was not picked up on 06/07/2022. When I called to find out why, I was told that I am ONLY allowed 6 bags per week, and bundles of branches that aren't in bags are an additional $9.54 charge PER BUNDLE.
So, while I consider the bundles of branches to be yard waste, Waste Connections does not. You would think a "green" company would jump at the chance to avoid more plastic in our landfills.... but honestly, A trash service that I have paid for, that won't take normal household trash, is a trash service that I'll be leaving.
It's been 16 years since the last time I voluntarily changed my trash service, but it's time now as Waste Connections service no longer meets my household needs.

This company had caused damage to my building multiple times. They’re told me “ that’s part of trash removal” they never put the dumpsters back where they got them. When I complained they raised my cost almost double. They don’t take my can for months with sad excuses. They didn’t take my bin last week after taking my neighbors bin and she hasn’t paid in months then he slammed my bin into the window so hard it sounded like gunshots on the camera. When I emailed the rep he said I was lying and that it wasn’t my scheduled day so it wasn’t them. I had to send a video to prove my story. Customer service is poor. I’ve sent a dozen photos and video. Still no response and they just take my money and not my trash. Worst trash company ever. Do not use!

Customer service is trash, they won't send out a bill or contact you and will cancel your service with no notice and then try to charge you a $35 reinstatement fee. We have dealt with this two times this year alone. At least last time they sent out a letter, this time they canceled it with no notice. When we called the woman some name that starts with an A started arguing that an automated machine left a voicemail when I told her it didn't, she argued further so I asked to her either way it doesn't matter we are canceling the service and her arguing is a waste of time, she hung up. The guys who run the routes are cool, and they do a great job but their office workers are unorganized and unprofessional. Go to Waste Management, they charge the same price and you won't have to put up with bad customer service and faulty communications.

They dumped the trash in my front yard several time. When I asked him why he said the bag wasn't tied enough in the trash can. The bag was tied. However he continued to dump trash every time after that. When I called to complain she said her trash guy was in the right. I waited to pick up the trash. I saw him dump trash all over the street. When I asked him to pick up the mess he was making he threatened me. I cancelled the service.

Most of the trash services in the area aren't great. That being said, this is what you can expect with Waste Connections -- regularly missed or next-day pickups, 80% of the time without any notifications/communication. Annual price increases and regular reductions in service (will accept less trash per pickup). Horrible customer service - don't expect them to care or be helpful. And if you happen to get a credit, expect about half of the value of the thing they are crediting (missed pickup credit is less than $4 despite paying over $6 a week for pickup service)

I started service with Waste Connections over 3 weeks ago for weekly trash service, and added recycling pickup a week later. They have picked up my trash once, and have never picked up the recycling. Each week, the days after they skip my pickup *again*, I call in and they say, "I don't know what happened", and that the best they can do is pick it up the next time. I now have a buildup of trash and recycling, and will have to pay another company to take care of it. I should have spent more time looking into this company before starting service - looking at BBB and Yelp has shown that this is common practice for Waste Connections.

We going on a month now with no recycle pickup. Our Nextdoor neighbor had suffered the same fate. They promised it would be picked up yesterday after we called to try to get it done. Still out there. And so is my neighbors. They did take a month of recycling off our bill but we can’t get them to get the job done. Time to find another provider.

if i could give .25 a star i would. i called to tell them they missed the pick up, they GUARENTEE it'll be picked up next day....its been a MONTH. my trash hasn't been picked up in a WHOLE MONTH. every time i call they tell me that I'm high priority to get it serviced that day then no one shows up. Completely unexpectable. Every call there is a new excuse; there are new drivers on the route, we're short staffed, they just hired a bunch of new ppl, etc. Excuses aren't getting my trash picked up only feeding the maggot colony in my bins. DO BETTER.

Don't call ahead and let them know when your moving. Because the service goes down when they know they are losing a customer. Yesterday they just drove by my house didn't pick up. Had to call for them to come back out I had 3 cans and old baby gate. Since 2 of the cans weren't labeled with their name they wouldn't pick it up. Never has this ever happened when I left multiple cans out. Talk to them today they want to charge me 85.00 come come out and do the job they said they would do the day before. They even went back and listen to the recording I had the day before. And know what I said was correct. Looked at video from their trucks. But I guess this customer is kicked to the curb. Just because I'm moving.

This is the second time , I’ve came home and seen this , honestly this is terrible I’m not sure who you all are hiring but clearly it’s not people who want to do this job . Very unprofessional and doesn’t do well at all highly not recommended I’m honestly mad I even have to give this a 1 star cause I would prefer 0 stars

Trash Truck ran into my tree and broke two big branches. Have video. Company said there is nothing they could do. Branches slightly over hung half the sidewalk. Was reckless. Company said it's my job to trim my tree because their trucks are too big. Driver reversed on the street and drove through my tree on the side of my house. My trash can is in the front of the house. Truck hugged the sidewalk on side of my house after he reversed back up my street.

6/28/24 - 4:03pm. $20 says the recycling doesn't get picked up, again.
Drivers on truck #42004 said they're supposed to pick up today. Probably my fault for having it out 11 hours early again.

6/11/24 - I like being told that I didn't have my recycling out on time. I guess 11 hours before 7am isn't on time. So, if you call to complain, they'll believe what their drivers told them. Not to mention our entire block didn't have their recyclingpicked up. Excellent work by an outstanding business.

Looks like the reviews speak for themselves. They send out new rules to reduce their work load and still charge the same. I was told at first to twine all broken down boxes together for them. The latest rule, even with recycle only coming every other week, now all 2 weeks worth of recycle must fit inside one container (nothing outside of the container). And HRCA listed them as a vendor of choice? Pure silliness.

They continuously mix my trash and recycling together... why am I paying for recycling If you're just going to mix it all together? Worst trash company in colorado save your money!

DO NOT USE this company! Should be out of business. They do not keep to their contract. We have an issue every single week and customer service does nothing. They skip us and our little old lady neighbor that has trouble getting her trash to the curb, but it’s there and they skip it. If they do pick it up they leave a mess all over the street and leave it. Causing trash to blow into a park and creek in the neighborhood. Absolute worst company and people. They don’t deserve one star but I can’t leave 0.

Such a poor company.... the 1.5 stars explain it all! This past Monday, had a second 10 gallon trash can get thrown away in 45 days! Most recent one had a sign taped to it asking them to not throw it away. Called CS and they said they are not responsible for personal cans but would take a look at cameras on the truck and call me back. Guess what, they never called back. And on Monday with recycling they threw 3 bags of food trash into the recycling truck! Currently shopping around to get new service.

Terrible company, very petty. Get butt hurt when you cancel service and try to charge you a cancelation fee. Good luck!

Worst trash service, Jacked up prices after a year. Broke my trash container and told me that they are not responsible for them. I understand the welcome letter. But did not expected them to just break mine for not using their's. I felt like I was being scammed into renting their's. Do not recommend and would advise anyone to read the rest of the reviews before considering. Wish I could've gave them no stars.

Prices constantly creep up. When you call to cancel they suddenly give you a massive discount. When cancelling, you get charged with a fee. They also refuse to pick up trashcans when you cancel service leaving it to the next people to deal with. Absolute garbage.
