Waste Management reviews in Englewood, Colorado

We have used this service for two years. They have always picked up both our trash and recycling without delays. The drivers have been courteous, and on the few occasions we have left extra trash next to the cans, they have even climbed out of the truck to throw it in the back without complaint. At Christmas, we gave them a small cash gift, and they left us a thank-you note. We don't understand the many negative reviews against this company because everyone involved, from the admin staff to the drivers, has been courteous and efficient in our experience.

Just because you’re in the trash business doesn’t mean you should be a trash business. Absolutely horrendous company. While everyone who works there is nice, they miss pickups constantly and then lie and say they’ll come by later today to pick it up, then never come. Over and over, and each time it’s a minimum of 30 min on hold to talk to someone, only for them to lie to you and say they’re picking up your trash today. After missing pickups they say they “need to get permission” to pick it up as a “courtesy.” They don’t refund you for missed pickups. The notes on my account are apparently so convoluted they can’t even read the history of issues with my address. After I paid for the year up front, every three weeks or so they don’t pick up my trash and say I owe them $80. Then they’ll call back and say actually they owe me money. Then like clockwork, three weeks later they don’t pick up my trash and re start the process over again. This time they missed my whole street and haven’t come back to get it 5 days later, lying and saying they’ll come “today” every day since Tuesday. I hate them.

I would give zero stars if possible. The team servicing my address. Would not completely empty the cans, leaving about half of the trash still inside. Finally put a friendly note on top to ask them to empty completely and they didn’t empty at all. Switched to WM which is a much better company.

We have had this service 17 days, one of my trash cans was missed. No big deal I call get no answer on the phone, so I send a message. Get a call Wednesday morning saying I’m on the schedule they will be back out to get it…no one shows. Call Thursday morning get voicemail all day send a message. Get a call Friday morning, they are coming out today if they can’t then I’ll get a call. No call, no trash pick up. I call at 4:15 says they are closed even though they don’t close till 5 so I send a message still nothing from no one. I paid for a whole year of service in advance which I found out they also overcharged me for (they gave me a credit for next year 🙄) now I have to wait for them to call me to cancel. Not even a month of service and it’s been this bad.

Need help? Try the website that doesn't work, then the chat bot that doesn't work. It will give you a phone number with an unusually rude robot that doesn't work and sends you a text to fill out a web form. The web form then gives you a different phone number that isn't quite as rude, but then it connects you back to the original phone number... and thus the circle of life continues.
If they are trying to be a trashy company they are doing a great job. I bet they call me real quick now that I've canceled my payment, though :) -
This morning I forgot to out my trash on the curb. I immediately called as soon as the trash truck drove past my house and asked if he can come back as the trash is out now. I was told they would charge me $93 to drive past my house. I, of course, said no. The driver drove past my house again 20 minutes later and the trash was out and he did not stop. He had to know that he did not pick it up 20 minutes ago when he drove past. It would have taken him 30 seconds to grab my trash can with his machine and dump it. It’s unbelievable how there is no customer service left. We even tipped him at Christmas hoping that he would feel appreciated. I certainly do not feel appreciated as a customer and will be looking elsewhere for service. No wonder this company has such a low rating in reviews. The excuse I was given of why he could not stop is because they load their drivers with over 1000 stops per day. Perhaps you should not give 1 person 1000 jobs per day and then there would be some room for good customer service.

I’ve had service with them from around 2016/2017 until today. Apparently they feel the need to charge $32 to cancel service, even if you don’t and have never used their cans and are also WELL outside of the initial service contract term length. The customer service representatives claims that all the trash companys charge a similar fee, which a quick internet search shows is false.
Aside from a 6 or so month period earlier during my time with them where there were constant problems with pick up, specifically recycling, I don’t have any complaints about their quality of service.
That time period can probably be chalked up to a bad driver and it was generally corrected promptly which is why I’ll give them 2 stars versus 1. -
Highlands Ranch service switched over to company-issued trash cans and we only got one. I mistakenly thought that was all I' was entitled to receive. After 3 weeks, it became painfully obvious that one trash can would not cut it. So I called Waste Connections and I was immediately connected to Noreen who was cheerful and helpfully explained to me that as a Highlands Ranch customer, my service fee included TWO trash cans and recycling!!! And she also said they would no longer collect loose bags left out on the curb so I needed to have them in a trash can. So three trash receptacles it is! Waste Connections will be dropping off the other two trash cans so problem solved. Lesson learned! If there's a problem, call someone and get help!
Oh and let me say, we've been customers for 19 years and in all that time I think we've only had one week where our trash didn't get picked up and that was weather related. This is an incredibly reliable company with awesome drivers!
