Overall very professional and efficient were very thorough in making sure that the service was very clear and expected time frames. Then further their cleanup of my relatively small yard was very clean and efficient hadn't even realized it had been taken care of. Pulled into the house and had to make sure I had auto pay setup and they had told me that it had been done. Again exceptional service and just to be y quietly and just get things taken care of.

I recently had Jake out to winterize my sprinkler system, and I couldn’t be more pleased with the service. He was prompt, professional, and took the time to walk me through how my system works. I appreciated how knowledgeable he was. It’s clear he takes pride in his work. I’ll definitely be calling Jake again next season!

UPDATE: he refunded me but it was a PITA. He has been aggressive and said he would only give me a refund if I took down my review. I'm not going to take down this review because others should know of his shady business practices. Also realize that he messaged me twice after one mow asking for a 5-star review, so his ratings are obviously inflated. Also I have to block him because he has texted 6 times, called 7 times, and left 2 voicemails since I left this review, all asking me to take down the review. No apology. Note that he did refund the $35 mow I did receive in addition to the $140 I did pay for. While this is appreciated, this is the bare minimum a business should do to make things right in a situation like this. He only added the $35 refund because he wanted me to take this review down.

Jake mowed my lawn once. I told him I didn't want to continue service. But he took $175 out of my account via ACH. I had to call at least five times since may when this happened and he always said he's going to fix it but he still hasn't.

Jake is awesome. We were late winterizing our sprinkler system this year and called Jake. He got right on the job! He also aerated, fertilized and cleaned up our yard for winter. He worked late into the evening and made sure all was done well and efficiently. We will be regular customers for sure! Thanks Jake…

I love using A1 Lawncare every year for my sprinkler blowout, aeration, and other services. The response time to getting an appointment is very quick and their communication is great. The price for everything is what makes me keep coming back. This year they worked late to get everything done and did a great job. I am super happy with them and would recommend them to anyone I know.

Don King really helped me out. Due to unique circumstances I needed help fast to install a culvert across the front of my lot. While other contractors couldn't help me, Don was able to get right on it. He had the manpower and equipment to quickly get the culverts installed and complete the leveling and landscaping I needed. His crews worked hard, took directions gracefully, and even went the extra mile to adjust my sprinklers so my dead spots now get watered.

Don King Landscaping did a fantastic cleanup and overhaul of our front and back yards, in addition to some masonry (built in kitchen and fire pit refacing). We were so pleased with Don's responsiveness, the affordability of the work, and his efficient and friendly team. We can now enjoy being outside again!

I am changing my rating for Don King Landscaping to 1 Star. I have continually tried to contact him in regard to the turf he and his crew installed in our back yard. He installed 2 different patterns of turf next to each other, then told me that he had no idea why they looked different as they were the same style. After much discussion, he made the mistake of saying that he ran out and tried to match it as best he could. Poor choice on matching and thanks for lying to our face. We asked that he replace and he brought several samples to choose from after much prodding 6 months later. We picked and have had the sample on our porch for him to pick up to order and install for another 6 months. He will not return my calls and texts to get this done. Now I would assume that he will try to do another switcharoo and install something we didn't pick. Good thing I am keeping a piece to make sure. He did work on several of our pavers on the patio as well which have once again sunk and look horrible. He supposedly put in a drip line to all the plants that were installed and several have died... What can I say but DON'T use Don King Landscaping!

Terrible. The quality of the work was poor. Don says he will do things and then doesn’t do them. My requests were ignored. To make things right I’d have to remove and redo much of his work at a cost of several thousand dollars to myself. I hired him to do a fence and concrete among a few other things. Had I not been home watching the work, it would have been even worse.

I posted a long review earlier however it seems to keep being removed - not sure what is going on with that - all posted was 100% accurate. Feel free to contact me and I can give you a detailed review of all the problems I had with Don King Landscaping.

I’d suggests you also look at other sites like YELP, as it seems this (Google) is the only place that this company is getting overall positive reviews.

EDIT: Don, seems you respond to every negative comment by saying you either did not work for the person or that you don’t remember working for them.

You did work at my house - concrete and a wood fence. The fence was a mess - your crew attempted to place the posts at only a 12 inch depth and only fixed it after numerous calls to you asking that it be corrected. 12 inches!?!! The fence wouldn’t have lasted a year with the posts only buried to 12 inches. That is one of the many problems with the fence. I’m still fixing the problems.

The concrete is pathetic. Numerous requests were ignored, and I ended up a mess of a concrete job. You didn’t slope the concrete as you agreed to, the finish job is terrible, the saw cuts aren’t straight… I could go on and on.

The underground storm drain that you installed is falling apart.

You left piles of dirt all over the place and didn’t properly replace the mulch and other landscaping that was disturbed during the work.

Lots more but this is just a few examples.

Your crew was at my house 10 days and you didn’t provide your workers with port-a-pot - they had to do their business in a dumpster in front of my house.

Don and his crew showed up on time and were hard working. They did a good job building my xeriscape project,.following my design with little supervision on my part. My issue is that Don quoted me a price of $1,200, a very general quote listing three items for the job but presented me with a detailed bill for $6,344. They had worked 2 days, totaling 12 hours for 5 workers and one irrigation man. I realized at the end of the first day that the labor and materials would be much more than $1,200, but it was still a shock to be 5 times what he quoted me. I didn't solicit his help, he showed up next door to quote a job and wanted to do my project. I had already completed probably a third if not half of it, and really wanted to complete it myself, I guess that's why he low balled the quote. He had done work for me 3 years ago pouring a patio with a pergola and replacing my sod in the back yard, did a good job and gave me a quote that was close to what the final bill came to. I should have got a second quote this time.

Don has been a pleasure to work with and help bring our vision for our backyard to life. His crew is awesome and work hard to get the task at hand done. He is extremely knowledgeable and doesn't rush perfection. Our design includes two different stamped concrete areas, synthetic grass (for future dog), and drought-resistant, non-cactus landscaping. My husband and I are thrilled with the results! Thank you again, Don!

I had been strung along by other Landscapers in trying to get a proposal to have a small lawn re-sodded, including removing several tree roots from the area. I finally called Don and he made arrangements to meet me and gave me an estimate for that work plus adding a small one-zone underground sprinkler and a drip line to some flower beds. His estimate was very reasonable and I accepted. I was so pleased to have his crew arrive only three days later to do the job. They did an awesome job, were polite and professional and cleaned up nicely. I appreciated the young lady, Tanya, who acted as interpreter as well as answering my questions so everything was done as promised. I highly recommend Don King Landscaping as a company that will treat you fairly and do a wonderful job.

Where do I begin...after many years of trying to get my front yard landscaped & dealing with companies that never get back with you, Don King Landscaping was a god sent. They came, I got a price quote right then & they showed up even earlier then they thought. With at least a dozen or more people on hand, they all work in unison to help make the front of my house come to life.

If you are a creative person & like to be part of the process, this is the company for you. I was able to put my input in without any feathers getting ruffled & all of us worked together in harmony. It was such a wonderful experience. Even if you are not that type of person, do not fear, with over forty plus years in the industry, Don is so well versed in all aspects of landscaping that you will be in good hands in helping you have the landscaping of your dreams.

I want to thank Don and all his grew for their exceptional professionalism, for their flexibility of everyone to take on all the different tasks as they are needed & to always be in contact with me to make sure that I am happy & comfortable with all that was going on.

My only problem is, now that I have an amazing, fresh new front landscaping, I only wish I had more for them to work on, because it was such a great experience!

Don King and his team were great to work with. I had a stamped concrete patio installed, some other landscaping that suits my dog, and some lifting/repairs on my walkway. They delivered what we agreed to and then some. As a nicety, they even fixed my fence gate which wasn't properly installed by the company my HOA hired a couple years ago.

Don visited every day to check in with me and was available every time I called him. He was flexible with changes I wanted and really polite. He is definitely enthusiastic about his business and wanted me to enjoy the end results. For years the backyard was the domain of my dog. Now I have a functional backyard for my dog and family. So, this is a major lifestyle change for me and Don gets it.

His team showed up on time every day, began work immediately, put full days in, and kept the job site safe and clean at the end of every day. I work from home spending much of my time in meetings and teaching classes over the phone. I was able to work as normal during the whole project. They were flexible with my schedule when they needed crawl space access or to discuss something with me. That all counts for a lot with me. At the end of the project they cleaned up everything including the surrounding surfaces like the house sides.

I love my new patio and all the other changes they made. I can't wait to use the new yard this Labor Day weekend. My grill will finally stop taking up precious garage space and reside on a proper patio. My kids are super excited and are already setting unreal expectations for the patio furniture we will eventually buy. My partner has space for her box gardens and Don will install drips to them from the repaired/upgraded irrigation system. We're all very excited.

I'm already working on some more improvements with Don and I really can't say enough good things about my entire experience.

I had a divider/wall in my small apartment shortened by a foot so I could navigate around the corner easier. The two guys who did the work were pleasant and efficient and did a great job. They even vacuumed up when they were finished. It took much longer than I expected and probably longer than they expected. I would highly recommend Don King's service.

I have worked with Don King Landscaping for several projects on my property.I have bought firewood from his company several times and really appreciate the great service I get - he even stacks it nice and neat right by the front door so I don't have to venture out into the cold! BRRR.

When I re-landscaped my yard and put in a new patio and fire pit I couldn't have been happier! Don King and his entire crew have been great to work with. The crew is respectful and efficient!- and do a great job cleaning up after themselves- (which is usually a pet peeve of mine working with contractors!)

Seriously- I almost drove right by my house when I came home from work one day-I couldn't believe it was my yard- what a transformation so quickly!

His design staff was amazing too- even with my perpetual indecisiveness they were patient and easy going- they really were as excited about my yard as I was! It was very personal attention.

I will continue to use Don King and his awesome crew for all of my projects. We are planning to put up a new garage in the spring - I'm really excited because we just found out Don can do that too! (This guy can do anything!)

This is what small business is all about- Don has owned and operated his company for 30 years in Colorado- he really stays hands on! I love it! When I couldn't decide on the stone for my fire pit Don called up some of his old clients and asked if he could bring me to come take a look at the work he had done for them. We looked at a few and every one of his clients said the same thing- that they were happy too! As a small business owner myself, I could learn a few things from how this guy does business- 30 years later and his clients are thrilled to hear from him to show off what he has done for them!

Don King and his crew were the right team for my basement remodel. Installed stone tile fireplace and hardwood floor. I needed projects completed quickly and Don King delivered. Don was always available by phone and responsive to any issues that arose. Reasonably priced & reliable.

Don King’s Deck Installation Review

It’s important to know that virtually every deck board, was installed by a decking crew that lacked proper training, tools and language skills (interpreter promised but frequently absent). I spoke to Mr. King about the problems of the poor workmanship. I asked for reinstalls of these problems and he responded, “You will not get a dime (from me)! Consequently, I sued his Company in Small Claims Court. Unfortunately, even though I won my case (for $680), it was only a small fraction of what I was asking for the reinstallation. I attributed this to King’s dishonest portrayal of the deck’s appearance (fake photos). He “blamed”the irregularities of finished decking on my subfloor joists that his crew were paid an extra $500 to restore. I wouldn’t recommend using King’s landscaping! His crew did a substandard job and Mr King was not accountable. I had to use an expert witness and consulted a lawyer to attain partial restoration of my deck!

Don and his team were great to work with. Don pointed out tips to better care for my plants as well as ensure take care of one of my ailing trees included with the work done. Every evening the team would pick up all of their tools and clean up any excess trash or yard clippings before leaving for the day. Don was easy to work with and able to get us scheduled very quickly. Recommend!
