I have used this company in the past and had a great experience, however, this past year, I found myself chasing down to follow up on an estimate and each time was told someone would call me to schedule, which never happened. I ended up going with Qualitree, who gave us a very fair estimate and who immediately followed up with a confirmed date and time- to which they held and did a great job.

To start, what we have learned from our experience with Scholoff is a lack of care and consideration for our property or taking time to thoroughly explain what they mean by clearing branches. Beyond the 5 months it took for them to do the work, which being covid, we were very patient about, we often felt as though it was more about them and not so much about the customer. We were very patient and understanding with this and again covid. W get the staffing shortages, experiencing the strain ourselves at our work. Anyways, in Dec, a large 35 yr old pine was lifting at its base and threatening to fall on our house or neighbors. It was near holidays and response we got was 'well, we are on vacation the next 3 weeks and will contact you at some point in the new year,' resulting in a very scary day where the tree was leaning and we ended up contacting another tree company who came out the same day and took the tree down, without the need for equipment Schuloff said they would have to bring through our yard (and probably tear it up). We still figured we would keep the other work- being loyal to Schuloff and understanding. But, they nevered scheduled us in January and it took multiple phone calls to find out if we would ever get on the schedule. In February, they finally came out and the best explanation I got for 'clearing a pine tree 8 ft' (which their experts came up with on the work order as I am no expert) was a hand in the air. No time to really explain it and totally did not match our vision of cleaning it up a little and allowing a little more head room to walk under it. The result is branches cleared half way up a blue spruce- which not only looks aesthetically bizarre and our neighbors have commented- but also refers back to that lack of consideration for our property or for the birds and other creatures who shelter and nest in one of the only other large pines left in our yard. We complained and management was supposed to call and we still have not heard anything. We cancelled all other work orders with them (we had 2 more) and the other tree company did us a favor, and once again, came out the same day after hearing this about Schuloff. The other tree company also took the time to explain Schuloff's work to us- which was very helpful since we feel a true sense of loss for what their experts did to our beautiful, large, healthy blue spruce.

We have used Schulhoff for years for all of our lawn and tree care needs. They have taken good care of everything and our lawn continues to look amazing year after year. We have also used their tree lighting services in the last few years and what amazing holiday lights we have. We frequently have neighbors stop to ask who does such beautiful lights for us. We are happy to brag on the work the guys at Schulhoff do for us year after year. We love supporting this wonderful local business and look forward to continuing our business with them for many years to come. They are reliable, dependable, knowledgeable and all around great guys to work with.

I been in Denver for over 20 years. I had a very established yard with lots of landscaping and many trees. I recently had a bad experience with a Non-Local company. I started calling around and can across schuloff Tree. The guys came out and went over everything, in detail, that I wanted done. They made some suggestions and I was so impressed that I hired them on the spot. I left for a couple of hours and came back to beautifully trimmed trees that had all the spraying and fertilization done. I was so impressed that I ask for a contract for next year. These folks know their business and they are a local company that’s been around longer than I have. I strongly recommend them

We have had Schulhoff help us with a variety of items around the yard including tree trimming, spraying and Christmas lights. I am always impressed with the professionalism of their crews and the quality of their work. It is nice to finally find a company like them.

I found this tree service satisfactory. As Schulhoff representatives very easy to work with over the last 5 years. Have no hesitation when calling for advice concerning various trees, shrubs and overall landscapes.

I called around a few companies and others didn't seem to have the time of day to give us some basic tips. Chris from Schulhoff came out to take a look at everything we have and give us tips on how to care for it. They did not pressure us into doing any work and even suggested a bunch of little things we could do ourselves that would make a huge difference.

This company really cares about doing the right work and not just racking up another invoice. They even told me some work would need to be done, but that it was the wrong season for it. When we did find an issue-- a tree sitting against our deck that needs to be dealt with-- they again gave us a lot of options and a comfortable time table for dealing with it. I really felt that my trees, lawn, and landscape are in the best hands with Schulhoff and I will be continuing to work with them for the forseeable future. Thanks Schulhoff Tree and Lawn Care!

Schulhoff Tree did an amazing job of cutting out the dead parts of our tree in a difficult area along the fence line and below electrical wires overhead. They arrived with more than adequate equipment and cleaned up every last branch and twig afterwards.

We've worked with Schulhoff for more than a decade to care for the trees on our 1.5 acre property in Morrison. They've always provided outstanding customer service and delivered expert, knowledgeable care for our trees. A special shout out to Chris, our regular point of contact. He spends a generous amount of time at our property explaining tree care to us and has voluntarily provided arborist support and advice to our homeowners association. This is clearly a company with a positive culture that we see in everything they do.

We were very impressed with the work done to bring down our
tree. There were 2 men on the ground constantly feeding branches in the chipper, while a
3rd one was up in the cherry picker with chain saw.
They cleaned up the yard very well. I highly recommend this company.

I am a new home owner & needed a tree trimmed. I love that Chris came out and not only did it, but taught me how I could easily do it myself & so many other things. I will definitely be using them in the future for bigger needs!

We had several estimates from other companies but we liked the fact that this is family owned and has been in business for so long. The employees that came to do the work were wonderful and respectful. We will definately use this company again and refer any of our friends to them.

Exceptional customer service and satisfaction is the normal course of this company. The arborists are knowledgeable and can deliver on the proper care required to keep your trees thriving. As a real-estate investor, who has used numerous tree companies, I have yet to see a company stand out like this one. A recent tree trimming experience turned out better than imagined because the team sent to my property showed care with the trimming, respect for the property, and meticulousness during the final cleanup. Pricing for ongoing tree deep-root watering, fertilization, and trimming is very reasonable for the quality work delivered.

I've used Schulhoff over the years for care of some large trees on my property. I've also recommended them to friends who also found Schulhoff to be excellent in price, ethics, and quality of work. What most impresses me about them is their willingness to turn-down work when they believe it isn't the best course of action for the tree. E.g. waiting until the best time of year to prune, not applying pesticides I've asked about when other neighbors have had other companies push them to apply on their trees, scaling down a pruning job from what I expected, saving a tree that I expected to be a full removal job.

In short, they provide the best value for the buck, know what they are doing, and have excellent business ethics and work quality. Highly recommended!

Great company and always prompt with scheduling! The office manager is very nice and professional. They have worked on my trees a few times now and always get it done efficiently while I'm at work. I haven't had any issues and my trees are in great shape, including my huge old maple tree that I'm sure would have already died if they weren't taking care of it. It's the greatest asset to my yard so I'm glad they are keeping it healthy! Highly recommended.

I rarely write reviews, but I feel compelled to share our heartbreaking experience with this company. Our mature trees were cut down without our permission, leaving us devastated.

When we reached out for help, the employee who came to quote us on replacing the trees was unhelpful and dismissive.

This situation is incredibly unfortunate, but when you trespass and destroy someone’s property, it’s your responsibility to make it right. We’re left feeling abandoned and disappointed by a company that should have shown care and accountability.

We've used Schulhoff Tree & Lawn Care for about 10 years and have always had excellent service. We've used them for tree care including trimming, pest control, tree health issues and removal. The staff and crews are respectful and knowledgeable. I highly recommend them!

Two others have left a review about an incident that occurred due to scammers, they didn't even own the property during the incident, They were not involved in the scam at all what so ever and they purchased the property long after it occurred and were compensated for the loss. Schulhoff was a victim and they stepped up and took care of the issue immediately when many other business would not have. I would use them and have recommended their services to several others since.

Schulhoff Tree ILLEGALLY cut down two healthy 40+ year old trees and one younger one in my yard without anyone's permission because they were scammed and didn't bother to check anything before they started cutting trees down.

After causing tens of thousands of dollars worth of damage by destroying these mature trees they have done absolutely nothing to try to make things better or fix the destruction they caused. My yard is now bare and even planting young trees will cost me thousands of dollars thanks to their negligence.

One of their arborists came by to give recommendations on what to replace the trees with and he was extremely unprofessional and not at all helpful. He spent the entire time complaining about how much of a hassle it was that they cut down the trees on my property and never got paid for it and the only recommendation he would give was that I should spend thousands of dollars to get one of his friends to do landscaping work before they would put new trees in.

I wish I could give fewer stars but I would strongly recommend against hiring a company who is this incompetent and has such poor customer service.

Edit as a response to the owner:

I was under contract to buy this house when you illegally cut the trees down. Whatever deal you made with the previous owner is irrelevant to me. The previous owner has already vacated the property when the trees were cut down and they are not the one who has to live with the destruction you caused.

Regardless none of that changes the fact that the trees never should have been cut down in the first place or the condescending attitude of the arborist. Honestly, I'm not even sure if I would have posted this review this company has shown any kind of remorse but when I met with their arborist he did nothing but make excuses and their response to this review is just more of the same.

To anyone who has bothered to read this far I would seriously consider whether you want to hire a company who caused tens of thousands worth of dollars of damage and won't even admit that they did something wrong, or one of the many other competent local arborist or landscaping companies in the area.

My experience with Schulhoff Tree and Lawn care was amazing from start to finish.

There was a 35+ft evergreen tree in my front yard that had finally died after 50+ years of life.

I called Schulhoff and talked to their office manager, I think her name was Amber? Anyway, she was very friendly and inquisitive about the work I needed done in my yard and helped find a time to schedule my free quote.

After they presented the intitial apprasial to have the tree removed they informed me they could clean up the rest of the trees in my yard as well. The appraisal was appropriate for the amount of work and they were able to schedule the large job 6 weeks out from the appraisal.

Today was the day of removal, the workers showed up on time, and managed to do the job in under 5 hours, I was absolutely shocked that they were able to do all of it in such a short period of time.

Super thankful to find this company to take care of all my future landscaping needs.

In the April 2024 windstorm the 30-ft tall spruce in my backyard was lost. Schulhoff helped me select and plant a new tree. Once again the space looks great. Great appreciation goes to Carey who helped select the tree and the crew, Tanner, Hamilton, and Alex who planted the tree. They all did an excellent job. Many thanks guys.
