I had a huge silver maple that I had been trying to nurse back to health, but unfortunately it wasn’t going to make it through Fall - they were very empathetic with my attachment to the tree, even recommended to me what type of tree to replace it with. We couldn't be more happy. The crew showed up this morning and went straight to work. They have been working for 3 hours and just finished. You wouldn't even know they were here for how well they cleaned up after themselves. Our invoice was for exactly the original bid. I even watched one of the crew help a couple of kids safely navigate past the trucks on their way to school. Thanks Columbine Tree for a job well done!

Columbine, "Lou" is very unprofessional. He quoted me a price and I didn't shop him as he came recommended from a friend of mine and I just trusted his pricing was competitive with his industry. A couple of months had passed and when we were finally ready to bring in the trees. I called Lou and we scheduled for the following week. A couple of days later I realized I failed to confirm the pricing, as everything was verbal up to this point but a couple of months had passed. I merely called Lou to clarify the price and I could tell he was VERY irritated by my asking but he did confirm the price. By this time I was concerned that he was irritated and I questioned his integrity, based upon how he was acting and responding to a reasonable business question. Instead of trying to save the deal he then responded by increasing the price by $200 per tree! End of conversation and I was on my way to find another tree spade company. I called 4 other companies and did my homework. What I found is that Columbine charges twice as much for their services than their competitors! In hind sight I'm glad things worked out the way they did, I got the trees I wanted for half the price. :-)

From the time of initial quote to finished job was 3 days. Tim Fohn was very responsive offering a very competitive quote and providing certificates of insurance. Our job was rather small - removal of 3 aspen trees but Tim worked us into a very busy schedule.

Crew arrival was timely, job was completed as quoted and clean up was great.

WOW! We had Tim and his crew out to remove a bunch of mature trees and shrubs from our .65-acre yard this morning (that hadn't been touched in 20+ years) — and we were absolutely blown away by how quickly, efficiently and professionally they got the job done. Not only did they get everything out, stumps grinded and all, but they also left the site clean and tidy. I would recommend them highly to anyone needing tree service!

We had a fairly large pine tree that needed removal in our front yard. It was starting to uproot and leaning towards our neighbor's house, so I wanted to feel confident in whoever got the job. Columbine Tree Service was the lowest bid by about half and they did an amazing job. Super fast too. It took them about 40 mins from start to finish, including stump grinding, limb mulching, and clean up. The only thing I will say if you go with them...be persistent with the phone calls. I almost gave up on them, as I didn't get a call back initially, but understood that they're a small business and it was a super busy time (right after a large snow storm). Despite that, I would definitely use them again.

Had a 35' tree blow down in the front yard. Columbine Tree came by right away, started right away, and finished quick. The job was done well. Everyone was friendly, and the price was great. I highly recommend them.

Columbine Tree Service is a great company to do business with. I recently had a 40' tall Maple tree cut down by Tim and his crew. it took them about an 1 1/2 hours to do the entire job including removing the stump. They use they best equipment and make the job safe, quick and do a nice job of cleaning up all at at an affordable price. When it comes to cutting down a large tree you really should use a professional service that is licensed, bonded and insured. I highly recommend calling Columbine. A couple of my neighbors used them for tree trimming and were very happy also.

I initially contacted them because of their good reviews on Nextdoor. The man who provided the estimate was patient, thorough, and knowledgeable. I was thoroughly satisfied with the process as well as the finished work. They trimmed 2 large trees and removed several other trees and bushes. The crew members who did the work were helpful, professional, and took pride in their work. I am 100% satisfied with my experience with Columbine Tree.

Columbine Tree was hired by my neighbors to remove a large evergreen that fell down durning a March snowstorm.

I watched the crew of 3 work like a well-oiled machine. They took the time to remove landscaping rocks, sprinklers, and garden fencing before starting with the removal. The tree was gone in 30 minutes or less. They did a great job with cleanup, and even did some extra shoveling to help the homeowner out.

Call me impressed.

This is a very hard review to write because I have had these guys do about 3 jobs of large tree removals over the last year and a half. The first two jobs they did a great job greatly priced fast and friendly. Not a very good clean up afterward but nothing a broom and shovel couldn’t fix. So those jobs are easily 4-5 stars.
Now unfortunately the last job I have had them do was very disappointing. It was remove a very large cottonwood and trim another in the backyard. Good price and they did a good job at actually “removing” the tree but it’s everything else surrounding it fell completely short. I was told my fence would be takin down to get machines in the yard and they would put it back. Instead they cut the fence out of place and didn’t put it back.(hopefully they come today and possibly bracket it into place) even tho my landscaping isn’t the nicest it was destroyed. Piles of dirt everywhere huge divets from the machines tire marks and edging torn up landscaping rock just out of place and some other problems . I was told if we were worried about landscaping he wouldn’t have takin the job in the first place.
I had multiple sprinkler lines broken. I can understand one due to it being underground and them stump grinding the huge stump. But I had two lines broken near the fence that are actually visible but no care to protect them. A green sprinkler box got crushed in the back yard and a couple of my large flagstone are shattered. We were told we had a stellar price and he assumes no responsibility for any of it and was under the impression we’re are redoing the yard and fence anyway.
I can deal with some “dirtiness” I understand it’s a messy job. But after giving them around 10-12k in the last year for work and being a repeat customer I was expecting for a little more respect towards my property
It’s very unfortunate that we live in a time where these guys are stacked with work so their customer service drops because at the end of the day they have jobs and no longer care for repeat customers. It just sucks they treated me well at the beginning but just appear to not care at the end.

What a great company. We have used Tim and his crew several times over the last several years. Most recently, we used them for a small cabin we own in Jefferson County. We changed insurance companies, and they wanted to cancel our policy due to some outstanding bushes and shrubs. They worked closely with wildland fire expert, and were able to remove the trees and shrubs prior to the most recent snowstorm.

I have had some personal medical issues recently which made my participation impossible. They did quality work on a timely basis. I highly recommend these guys, you won't be disappointed.
