I first hired Chris Reinholdt, owner of Reinholdt Tree Care (and on-the job tree trimming and tree extraction expert) approximately 15 years ago. I needed a large beautiful, (but dead) Cottonwood removed from our small backyard in Boulder. Every other tree company I spoke with wanted to bring in a crane (on my new driveway) to lift the whole tree over my newly remodeled house and then cut it up after it had been removed. Chris removed the tree, without a crane, with the confidence and skills that only comes with decades of experience, and a high standard of professional care. Chris, Mike, and the rest of the crew are cautious, professional and highly skilled tree care specialists. Since our first meeting 15 years ago, we hired Reinholdt Tree Care several times for jobs at our home in the city of Boulder. Now they are helping us care for (and sometimes remove) trees at our S. Boulder residence on the outside of town. They don't just trim trees, or cut them down. Chris meets with his clients prior to the job, giving his professional assessment and a timely quote. The day the work is scheduled, he and his crew show up on time, complete the job as quoted with precision and care, and do an equally impressive clean-up before they leave the property. Chris and his crew truly are the best men you can hire for this type of work. I would not trust my trees, or my property with any other company. I am not easily impressed. They are just that good.

Very professional company. Chris reconfirmed my lawn needs before he started the job of removing trees/bushes. He explained that I could keep 4 of my trees/bushes if I trim them in the fall. Instead of going ahead and pulling out these trees to make more money, he actually saved me money and gave me great advice. His crew cleaned up my yard after getting rid of my juniper bushes. They worked in the pouring rain. They were also very prompt in getting back to me and scheduling the job. I recommend Reinholt Tree Care.
I called Chris again after I noticed that three trees had died and were hiding behind other trees. Once again, he was honest about what he could for me and his crew was so polite and completely cleaned up after they removed three trees and 5 stumps. I noticed that one of the tree stumps wasn't as low as I preferred and he came right back and cut the stump shorter after I cleared out the rock and fabric. Very good prices and service.

I highly recommend using Reinholt Tree Care for all your tree needs! They arrived on time and performed all requested services very professionally. The worker was efficient with his time and a basketball stand and hoop were just below where he was sawing and not even a twig touched it. About the time he was finished the truck and grinder came. My tree looks beautiful and I was most amazed at the clean up the 2 workers did! They raked the lawn and my entire driveway and got every bit on leaves and branches. Chris was easy to talk to, gave great advice and the pricing was most affordable! I will definitely use them again!

I needed a pretty mature ash tree trimmed, and I was very happy with the work Chris and his crew did. They pruned out a lot of the less healthy branches while keeping all the shade and the natural beauty of the tree. Would recommend.

Wow, Chris' team blew me away cleaning up our property today in less than four hours on a HOT day. They were efficient, communicative, and friendly with our kids. The yard looks great and feels much safer for all of us!

Chris and team took down a massive tree in my backyard, which required a road closure and crane. It was a big project that they made look easy (it wasn’t). Additionally, they did an amazing job cleaning everything up.

Absolute fantastic work by Chris and his team. Great communication, scheduling was completed sooner than expected, and the estimate was far better than the other 5 bids. 30ft+ Aspen tree and cleanup completed in 1 hour - faster than I can get my 3 year old out the door.

Chris and his guys are great. We've used them twice now including with the recent spring snow that took a ton of branches off the maple in our backyard. Chris showed up first thing that following morning to survey the damage and then the team made quick work of the downed limbs and left the yard looking great. Would recommend to anyone in need of tree service.

These guys were working on a tree in the same neighborhood as my friend and I were. When my friend was in the tree, he cut an artery with his chain saw. These guys came to the rescue and saved my friends life by getting him down the tree so that Emergency personnel could get him stable and rush him to the hospital. They saved my friends life. We used Blue River for our tree care at our house in Longmont. We had 2 Cottonwoods removed and had treatments for our Elms for scale. Our Elms are looking great and everything with the tree removals went smoothly from start to finish and the clean up was awesome. Highly recommend !

We needed a professional team to tackle a tree line full of mature elms that were riddled with deadwood and hazards hanging over our yard, but one that also prioritized the long term health of the trees, and that’s what we got. From start to finish their professional crews worked efficiently and diligently with a level of technical skill that exuded true expertise. Blue River came highly recommend and they did not disappoint. They are on speed dial for any of our future tree care needs.

If you care about your trees (and wallet), you should hire these guys. I moved to a property on the border of Longmont a few years ago with many massive 70’+ high old growth Austree Willow trees around the back that were unsightly and actually scary from the decades of unmanaged overhanging growth. In 2021, I was foolish enough to hire a couple of “experienced” dudes for a cheap price and some promises. They were Bozos and told me after starting the job that the trees were too big to get to the stuff that really needed to come down. I paid them for what little they did and asked them to leave. That was money down the drain. After having a couple of other companies out for bids, I hired Blue River. Their company first sent an experienced guy to evaluate the situation on all trees and tell me what would make sense for not only safety, but also for the health (not just aesthetics) of the trees.
They were pretty booked out because of some horrible storms that wreaked havoc on many trees in the area, but we were glad we waited for them. Their crew worked hard to get things tamed within my budget. They were also VERY cognizant of where they could place their bucket truck and specialized equipment to minimize any potential damage to my grass and surroundings below. They cleaned up everything (which was no easy task) at the end of the job and I was happy with their process.
They also came on two other occasions when I had more storm/wind damage to individual limbs. Also they wisely caught the fact that I have a mature Ash tree on the property that should be treated for bores to prevent the demise of it. Was a very inexpensive thing to do to preserve it from that destructive bug.

When you’re in the mindset of REMOVING something from your property like branches or a full tree (as opposed to adding something to your property), it’s easy to get sucked in by the lowest bid. I did that once and it ended up costing me more! These guys were right in there with the other two bids and I feel had WAY more expertise. The guy that came out for one of the OTHER companies mis identified the type of trees that I had by calling them Russian Olives! I knew right then it didn’t matter what he quoted me!

Seriously, if you care about the safety of your property/improvements, the value of the trees as well as the outcome aesthetically AND the end cost, you will give these guys a chance to bid the job. I appreciate them for doing a very dangerous job well!

Our neighborhood lost a giant today - the 100 year old American Elm on Carlton Place had developed a huge crack, and the city foresters concluded it was at risk of major collapse and could not be saved.

The City entrusted Dustin and the Blue River crew to safely disassemble the old girl. They came with a bucket truck and a 100ft crane. Trunk by trunk, a climber rode the crane hook up into the sky, landed in the tree to rig a safe hoist, and conducted the sawyer in the bucket and crane rig operator to lift huge chunks away. Doing this safely was no small thing - the tree canopy spanned over 50 feet outward from its center, overhung a house and power lines, and wove into the surrounding canopy. Each piece swung clean when cut free and was lowered gently to the street below. Thoroughly impressive work.

Western Cut is A1. They responded immediately to my inquiry and completed the job in an efficient and cost effective manner. Will be using them again.

Great value and amazing work! It's rare to have the owner walk you through the bid. I had two amazing trees that died and needed removal but apparently only one was dead and the owner helped me bring the other back to life. Can't recommend they enough.
