Joshua and Alisha are both great people and skilled electricians. Joshua's knowledge seems limitless, the guy knows all electrical and fire code and can do anything you need. We brought Peterson in to put in 220 for a hot tub, thinking it was a quick and easy job. Joshua took the time to work with us and brought up so many items we didn't even think about. Really cared about us and not just doing the work quick. The work was top notch, would highly recommend Joshua and Peterson Electric to anyone.

I called Josh in the middle of a work day to get a quote to install an outlet for my new EV. He was able to fit me in the same day! He came over, took a look, and obviously knows his business very well. He's also very personable and I enjoyed talking with him.

We agreed to an installation day and time. He was great at communicating when he was going to arrive. He and his son got to my house and started work. They were so quick and professional. They worked around the house painters, who were also there. It was a bit chaotic and they handled it like champs.

This is a small, family-owned business. They are professional, kind, and easy to work with. They did the installation in a short amount of time and it looks/works great. I cannot recommend them enough.

They even helped me move things around in my impossible garage so I could test out the new charger!! Thank you so much, Josh!

Joshua is a great electrician. The first time I called him was in December a few years ago to help fix my mistakes of trying to install a ceiling fan. He came over the same evening.
I called again to install another ceiling fan a year later and him and his son punched the hoke in the ceiling and had the fan ready for use in less than 2 hours.
Today I had him stop by to fix a faulty light and he came a day early to get the job done.
I highly recommend Peterson Electric!

Out of the three bids I had on a project, Peterson Electric stayed the most time with me detailing out just how he was going to fix my project. He drew up photos and explained everything to me, in a way that someone with no electrical experience can understand. They just completed a service change for me, with great time and efficiency. 10/10 I’ll be returning again for any more electrical needs. Thanks again for the hard work!

Fabulous experience all-around. I've been working on finishing my basement almost entirely DIY, only hiring out things like plumbing and electric. Reached out to a few electricians including Peterson for quotes, and the extra mile they went won my business. Spent several hours walking through the basement with both my wife and I discussing in very intricate detail what we wanted to be sure it could be accomplished right the first time and at the price he quoted without surprises. A true family business, they all were on-hand and had the rough-in knocked out in very short order. A huge plus to us was Josh not having any issue waiting 2 months between rough-in and trim-out while we DIY'd all drywall, and his willingness to have an open conversation on how we could best facilitate his work and meet inspection expectations based on his prior experiences. Though they weren't the cheapest quote we received, they made up for it by offering a perfect balance of doing things right and eliminating any chance of future problems all while still being fair on price.

Bottom line: Could you find someone less expensive? Yes. Will you find someone who completes the job to a higher standard, not requiring call-backs, and without gouging on cost? I highly doubt it.

I’m sad I didn’t go with these guys first. I called them for a second opinion on my range breaker issues. Joshua came out and was very knowledgeable, thorough, and upfront (which i appreciate. I hate the little games a lot of companies do nowadays where they can’t even tell you what it would cost to replace a breaker without consulting their iPad). I am definitely recommending if you are in the Loveland area!

We had a wonderful experience with Joshua. We had originally called to look into possibly upgrading our circuit panel to one with more amperage in order to accommodate a hot tub and possibly adding AC to our house. Joshua was very fast to respond and able to quickly get us on the schedule for a free consultation. Not only did he have a near encyclopedic recall of the electric code, Joshua was also quick to help us realize we didn't need to upgrade the panel, saving us quite a bit of money. Joshua has been doing this a long time and was clearly a highly trained and competent electrician.
He was also instrumental in helping us find the best location in our yard for our hot. There was a mess of buried utilities we had to deal with which he really helped us navigate.
We contracted Joshua to hook up the electric for our hot tub. His work was excellent and timely but more importantly, he took the time on a few different occasions to talk with us on the phone to help us understand and develop the best plan for where everything was going to go.
It was a pleasure working with Joshua and we wouldn't hesitate to hire him again or recommend his services.

Peterson Electric Rocks!
I had Joshua Peterson come out and look at a problem I was having with my electrical outlet. He fixed it in quick order and did not charge me very much. Because I was so pleased with his integrity and help, I decided to have Peterson Electric back again to put remotes on my two ceiling fans. Joshua and his wife, Alisha, who works with him were professional and efficient. My ceiling fan remotes work excellently and have for some time now. I so appreciate the fine performance by Joshua and his company. I highly recommend this company for their knowledge, efficiency, and integrity!

Bought a new home a couple years ago and needed a large amount of electrical work in order to be fully safe and up to code. We knew the work wouldn’t be cheap, but both my husband and I felt super confident and at peace in doing business with this company.
They were always on time and got the job done quickly and efficiently (and clean!). Good communication and extremely knowledgeable. Josh was super upfront and honest with us in what needed to be done.
We were in our home painting while Josh did some work and we enjoyed talking to him and hearing some hilarious stories from all his years in the electrical field.

I needed some power brought into my basement for a small wood shop and Josh exceeded my expectations. I was very impressed with the knowledge, quality and the professionalism displayed. I would highly recommend Josh for any electrical work to my friends and family.

Joshua and his family added some light fixtures in our living room ceiling. They all wore protective face coverings the entire time they were working, and they did an extremely profession job on the fixtures. They were very kind and respectful while working at our house, and we will definitely use their services anytime we need electrical work done.

Great experience. Getting a bid for a dry sauna electrical line install + hookup was super easy over the phone. Josh and his sons arrived on time, were very efficient and clean, and everything seems to be working well. Would recommend for any electrical work you need done around the house.

I am so thankful for Peterson Electric. We had our electricity go out not too long ago. Peterson Electric was the only company that was willing to come out and fix it that day. Unfortunately, the job turned into a much bigger and more difficult job than originally thought. Joshua did an amazing job of explaining what was happening every step of the way. He is very knowledgeable, and you know you are getting the highest quality work with him. I am extremely confident that the problem was not only fixed, but fixed the right way. Joshua cares about the customer, and he cares about the work. I cannot say enough good things about Peterson Electric, I 100% recommend Peterson Electric if you are having an electric problem.

Joshua and his family run business are beyond exceptional!! We have had work done on our home at various points across 14 years, and every time Joshua has been there to not just give us amazing work, we can feel confident in, but has given us advice and always takes his time making sure we get exactly what we wanted accomplished. His knowledge is incredible, and you can always tell, he takes pride in what he does to do it right and do it well.

Joshua Peterson is the best electrician you can find. He runs a small shop with just his son, but they are growing. They have the smarts to tackle any electrical job. Joshua put full house circuit breakers on my electrical panels because I live in a lightning prone area. Now I don't have to worry about lightning strikes frying my appliances. He also wired up some outside lights that another electrician didn't want to mess with, as it took some problem solving as it was wireless. Now we have great outside lights. A few weeks back he corrected some errors on my generator installation that other less experienced electricians had missed. He's a detail oriented guy, and he loves quality work. Today we had him up for a couple of small jobs and he didn't even charge us. He's just a great guy and he works with his family.

Peterson Electric went above and beyond to fix our electrical problem. Josh and his son came to our home the day after the work order was put in with AHS. They originally thought the issue was just some old breakers, so they replaced them, but the issue kept happening after they left. They came back the next day to investigate further. *It felt like Sherlock Homes was in our house.* After a short period of time they figured it out and fixed the underlying issues. Their communication via phone call/texts and in person was incredible. They were professional, tidy and I’ve already recommend them to a neighbor. Thank you for helping us and keeping our home safe!

edit: Reply from the owner shows the stubborn ignorance and does not even address the fact they quoted me nearly 3x for a second job. Stay away unless you want to be ripped off for potentially sketchy work

I have hired Peterson electric multiple times in the past, but I will never do so again and I have to post this review to warn people off. The work is extremely overpriced and potentially dangerous (more below).

First let me just share that I believe they will overcharge you if they think you will pay. After having done some work I think I already over paid for, I was quoted $4500 to run some wires from my panel for an induction stove. I was already done working with this company for reasons I'll get into below, but I had the work expertly done for $1350. I don't see how someone who has been in my house and knows my attic/setup extremely well can get to a price that high unless they are trying to rip me off.

If that's not enough for you, I had wiring and a bunch of work done for my sauna. I was told the quote needed to be this high to run #2 wire which was going to be expensive. They ended up running #8 and said that was a write up error and wouldn't give any discount. Again, I think I was ripped off.

Lastly, a 50 amp circuit was put in place for the sauna. The electrician placed 2 plugs on the same 50 amp circuit. Every electrician I've talked to said this is an obvious no-no and couldn't believe they would do this. After arguing with my father (40 years of licensed electrical experience) they eventually caved and refunded the money for the outlets. However, the trust was already broken. I would not hire someone who does something this dangerous and won't admit their mistake.

The halogen lights over our kitchen island went out. Josh helped me diagnose the problem over the phone and order the part, so they could fix it on arrival rather than making multiple trips. Outstanding service at a very fair price.

Peterson Electric did all the electric for our basement finish. They were fantastic to work with from start to finish. If you need any electrical work done in Northern Colorado call Josh at Peterson Electric. They thought through all the little details during our project that made it functional and look fantastic when they were done. The city inspector complemented the work during the inspection. Really can't say enough good about them.

I had Joshua install a new underground electrical service line to my garage after mine spontaneously went out. He was very helpful with diagnosis of the issue, and very knowledgeable on the code for proper replacement of the line. He was also very patient and accommodating in working with me, because I was digging the trench line myself. He was even responsive in giving me feedback while he was on holiday vacation so that I could have the trench ready for him to run the line when he got back. You can tell that he cares about his business, and that it is a true family operation. He even had his son and his wife on site with him! I'm grateful for the service.
