My story begins with my front porch broken and settling and causing the columns and porch roof to sag as well. I had three contractors come out to give me an estimate to make repairs and all three found the job beyond their ability. I found McCluskey Contracting on line and requested a visit. Matt came out and we discussed the entire scope of work and he expressed confidence that his crew could do a complete job of removing the old concrete and replacing it with a colored and stamped finish. He reset the columns and roof and finally dressed the entire disturbed area. He and crew were efficient, friendly and professional and cleaned up each work day. The work was completed within six work days and I am beyond satisfied with everything that was done. I recommend their work.

We are very satisfied with our patio. They made a small 65 year old patio into a large decorative patio with stamped concrete with space for a fire pit and a hot tub.

We did have a slow start with our project from when we signed our contract in late summer and when they were able to start work in late winter.

We also ended up going over budget by over 50% as the team discovered that we needed a partial retaining wall due to the slope of the yard when they arrived to do the work. We also decided to place concrete up to our fence line, extend the patio over our basement window well and close in the basement window, which contributed to this cost - but added to the useable space of the patio. We were happy in the end that we made those last minute decisions. I just wish we had known about it in advance.

But, if you are on a budget, be aware that there might be some additional costs. I would just double check all of this before you sign your contract so that you aren't surprised at installation time. If you have a slope in your yard, you may need a partial retaining wall as well. I didn't know as I never had a patio installed before.

Good things come to those who wait! We are very happy with the craftsmanship of our patio and the team was very professional, punctual and hardworking throughout the project. They treated our job as they were working on their own home.

We can't wait for the weather to warm up to enjoy it!

Here are photos of my driveway, completed in August 2025 (less than 3 mths) by McCluskey Contractor. The cement was sourced from 43rd Street, and unfortunately, this is how it turned out. If you’re hiring for a similar job, make sure your contractor is using a cement company that knows how to properly mix and finish concrete. As well someone that will stand up for you when the final product sucks. Quality matters—and this result speaks for itself.

I have praise upon praise for this contractor. First, he always kept me informed about the time table. Second, listened carefully to what I wanted.Made sure I thought of every option before they started. Third, gave me valued guidance from his experience. Fourth, everyone on the team work very hard, were very careful about doing a great job and listened carefully to what I said and made sure I got exactly what I wanted. Even when I came up with the weird last minute request for extra landscaping dirt around my patio and steps which will eventually give me that old English garden look when it grows in. I will be doing the finishing touches in the spring. The advice on many different options before day one to make sure I thought of every option was invaluable. And reasonably priced. And kept me informed about when they would be doing what.

Matt and his team recently completed some fabulous work at our home. They replaced a retaining wall, poured some new steps that now match our sidewalk and replaced some crumbling pads in our driveway. From demolition to putting the finishing touches on all three projects they were as professional as anyone that we have worked with at our home. We highly recommend using McCluskey Contracting LLC.
