~~Note to consumers considering a heated driveway~~
This review is for consumers considering getting a Heavenly Heat heated driveway. I 100% do not recommend it! Put your money into a top of the line snowblower as it will last longer and come with a real warranty.

A Heavenly Heat driveway was put into our home in November 2017. We didn't move into the house until February 2018 so it wasn't used until the 2018/2019 winter. It worked fine that year and the 2019/2020 winter until it broke in December 2020. That means it worked for a total of 2 winters.

The heated driveway cost $7,400 and when it was pitched to us it was with confidence that it is a great product, will last a long time, issues under the concrete are very rare, and it comes with a 25 year warranty from Heavenly Heat. When the driveway broke we were told the warranty is irrelevant since it 'technically' worked already. And once concrete is dug up there would be no way to determine if it is an installation issue or manufacturer defect. So not sure at all what the 25 year Heavenly Heat warranty is even for and why it is even sold with it.

While CHC did set us up with an electrician to look at it, the electrician couldn't identify the problem with any level of confidence. And their estimate to investigate options as to why it may have broken started at around $1,000.

If you are truly considering a heated driveway make sure you get an installation warranty for the work for at least 5 years and budget for an additional 50% for likely needed maintenance.

Again, money would be much better spent on a snowblower!

We are giving this 3 stars because CHC has done satisfactory work for us, but they installed a product that it doesn't seem they stand behind. At the end of the day, they are the ones who received the check for the heated driveway and for the installation work.

These are good people. They clearly communicate on the work being done and the schedule for doing it, provide a well-written estimate, willingly answer questions, and deliver quality work. They show up, or (very rarely) when they cannot, they always explain why. Once the project was complete, they stand behind their work and deal with any remaining issues. The workers were professional, efficient, and thorough. We have received a LOT of unsolicited compliments on the completed work.

CHC just recently installed a new driveway and sidewalk for me and we LOVE it! Pete, Tracey and their crew were top notch. Great group of people....very professional, friendly, hard workers. I would recommend them for your concrete needs. I will call them for any future work we may have.

CHC Construction did a wonderful job on my concrete driveway, sidewalk, and versalock retaining walls. Pete and Tracey are friendly to work with, and they have a top notch crew. I'm very happy with how my project turned out. If I need more concrete work done in the future, I will go to them!

We found CHC at the Pittsburgh Home Show in spring 2019 and hired them to install a concrete driveway, walkway, and front steps to our new house. They were easy to work with, arrived on-time for the estimate appointment, and were able to complete the work exactly when they said they would. They did a great job; everything looks very nice. Would absolutely recommend them!

Had a lot of concrete work done around my house. Huge retaining wall for a parking pad rebuilt and side walks all the way down, two cement pads poured, plus a flight of steps in the front. The guys were awesome! So nice and informative! All my work was done promptly and everything turned out amazing, I couldn’t be happier. They also gave me the best bid out of any other contractors that I had look at the work. Would highly recommend and would most definitely rehire again for any of my concrete needs.

I just want to say that the only downside of our project was waiting for it to begin, but with things being back ordered and rain days with an outside job, it is just the new way of the world. Tracy was very communicative about all aspects of the job.

Once our project got started, they did an amazing job. They were efficient, fast, and put in full days. They showed up when they said they would. The guys at our driveway were helpful and kind. They did a great job of cleaning up their work areas and our new driveway pad looks amazing. We did have a little wait, but it was worth it for the quality. I highly recommend you give them a call and get on their list for next spring!

CHC replaced our old and failing paver patio with exposed aggregate. The job was completed in 3 days and it looks amazing. My wife and I are very pleased with the result and are looking forward to enjoying our new patio this year.

From estimate through completion working with Tracey, Pete and the crew was easy and trouble free. The only issue, echoing someone else, was the delay in starting – all out everyone’s control. And even that worked in our favor as we were able to upgrade from plain concrete to exposed aggregate – well worth the extra.

I heartily recommend CHC for any concrete work you may need.

Love, Love, LOVE my new wall and sidewalks. Guys were prompt, hard working, and put the hustle on. Every night the neighbors ooh & ahh over how absolutely gorgeous our curb appeal is now. Highly recommend.

We had to replace our water and gas line and decided to start fresh and run everything up a new driveway. CHC did an amazing job, helping us coordinated with a plumber (Pawlak, also great), a gas guy and PWSA (surprisingly did their part on time). The final result looked excellent and we now have a new driveway, gas and water lines. I would highly recommend them to anyone in the market for a new driveway, especially if the job is complicated.

My husband and I met Pete at the Home show in Pittsburgh great guy. My husband Jay call Pete when we were ready for him to give us and estimate for the concrete job. The job was priced fair and looks amazing. These guy's worked hard and had my patio and side walk done in least then a week. Will hire them again GREAT JOB!!!!

CHC Construction did a fantastic job rebuilding my retaining wall, from the initial visit from Pete providing me his knowledge on what needs to be done with the rebuild, to his employees doing a great job, and Tracey following through with the contract. Everything was professionally done. What I appreciated was the constant communication I had with everyone. I would not hesitate to use CHC Construction again for any work they do that I may need done.

Zacchero Construction did a fantastic job installing our new patio. He was quick, polite, and very responsive to any questions we had leading up to the install. Will reccomend to everyone!

Wyatt was always on the job and showed up exactly when he said he would be here. No follow up ever needed.

Throughout every step of the process, Wyatt was professional, hard working, and responsive. He was meticulous in his work and always courteous in his manner. He did a really good job of cleaning up his work stuff but for some reason always left food and drink packaging littered around. That's my only complaint.

Wyatt replaced a retaining wall and a wooden ground-height deck with a versa-lock wall, and then constructed a poured concrete porch with a deck above it; he also ran underground drainage from the house’s downspouts to the back edge of the property. After the job, he flattened the workspace, and soiled and seeded the yard, leaving a clean and tidy space behind. The outcome reflects quality workmanship that is aesthetically pleasing and enhances our outdoor living space. He even went the extra mile to help us with the aftermath of a fallen tree when a storm brought it down in our yard near the end of the project. Wyatt was polite and communicative. He also was great with our kids, giving them waves as they watched him working. We would work with him again and recommend him to others in need of retaining walls and backyard hardscaping work.

I have been a home improvement contractor in the South Hills for over 25 years. I contacted Wyatt for an estimate to replace a sidewalk and steps to driveway with poured concrete.
His and the other pros that I contacted for estimates were all within $100 of each other so I knew his price was competitive.
Each call and text was returned, he showed up when he said he would be here, the work was completed when he said it would be and the finished job was exactly what we discussed.

Highly recommend Zacherro Construction. I am so pleased and over joyed with the cement patio and french drain that replaced a deck and addressed drainage problems. The work was completed by Wyatt well beyond my expectations from start to finish. He made the best recommendations and methodically executed them with a well delineated plan with minimal disruption. It is refreshing to finally find a contractor that is straight forward, does excellent work, explains the process and professionally completes the work.
