Reviews of local pros in Canton, Connecticut

ZN construction completed a very large project in our home after we sustained tremendous damage from water. They came highly recommended. Zac showed up at our home one day after the event. I am sure he could sense how overwhelmed we were. He offered sound advice and accepted this project. He was in touch with me almost daily keeping me updated. My kitchen had to be demolished. I had hardwood floor on the main level, which warped from the water and needed to be removed and replaced. The water also seeped into the basement damaging floors, walls and more. Zac and his team rebuilt my home. He sent me to a cabinet and appliance store. I met his plumbers and electricians. Everyone worked together to recreate my space into an amazing kitchen. His team is talented and professional. Their work was meticulous. They cared about each detail. They met the timelines. I cannot speak highly enough of ZN Construction. They recently completed another project for me. This time I met a different team of workers who were equally as talented and as great to work with.

Zac and his guys are fantastic. Very responsive, great communication and excellent results. ZN replaced my rotting deck posts and rails and some rotted trim and did it for a reasonable price and in record time. Highly recommend. You won’t be dissapointed!

Needed a new roof boot and some drywall fixed on the inside of the house. Exceptional service! Zac’s team that came to do the job were very kind and knowledgeable about the service they did. They gave extra advice on things they noticed that will need to be fixed somewhere down the line. They were clean with the job. The price was reasonable. Will definitely call on them again in the future.

After a lightning strike damaged our home, we turned to ZN Construction—and we’re so glad we did. They helped us assess and repair both exterior and interior damage with professionalism and care.
Our custom deck, which features cedar shingle posts and integrated lighting, was in rough shape. ZN Construction restored it beautifully—it looks brand new! They matched the original craftsmanship perfectly and ensured every detail, including the lighting, was flawlessly redone.
Inside the house, they were just as thorough. They helped us evaluate the damage and made the necessary repairs efficiently and respectfully, keeping us informed every step of the way.
We highly recommend ZN Construction for their quality work, attention to detail, and genuine customer care. They turned a stressful situation into a smooth and successful restoration.

Zac and his team came out to remove some built ins and replace our carpet with hardwood flooring and they were awesome! The floors look great, they showed up when they said they were going to, and they were very communicative throughout the entire project keeping us up to date to changes in schedule caused by the winter storms.

ZN Construction delivered an outstanding experience from start to finish. I worked with Chad, Eric, Anna, and Joe, and the entire team was fantastic. Chad and Eric are exceptionally skilled carpenters. They built custom built‑in bookshelves and a brick fireplace surround for us, a project that was both detailed and challenging. Their discipline shows in everything they do. They work like clockwork and always leave the space as clean as they found it.

As a family, we only have positive things to say. For anyone reading this, here is something that might put the quality of their work into perspective. My wife is a talented architect, and we have completed many projects in our home over the years. It is very rare for her to say this, but she told me to trust Chad and the team completely and not intervene with design decisions. That level of confidence speaks for itself.

Highly recommended.

ZN construction is the only contractor we plan to use for home projects because of the excellent quality work they have done and their professionalism and customer service. Our first project was interior finishing of a pool house. They worked with me to bring my designs to life and we absolutely love our space! They did shiplap on the walls, created storage, built a changing room with bench, lighting, and a pocket door, installed a ceiling fan, and interior and exterior lighting. The team was courteous, on time, efficient, skilled and kind to my children. This year we had a smaller job where some window frames needed to be replaced on our home before it could be painted and I was amazed at how quickly the job was completed so we could move forward with our painting without any delays. I would highly recommend them for any job- with ZN construction it seems any project is possible!

We hired ZN Construction to do a bathroom remodel which included removal of a bathtub shower combination replacing it with a walk-in shower. The finished results exceeded our expectations. Zac’s crew were friendly, on time, communicated clearly, and always polite. The entire process, from planning, to execution, to completion were flawless. Questions and requests for changes in scope were responded to quickly. We would not hesitate to use ZN on future projects and would highly recommend them to our friends and family.

Great electrical work. We needed a new wall outlet, and it was installed quickly and neatly, with no wires showing, at a very reasonable price. Todd was quick with communication, and Jose did an expert job.

Always had great service when they took care of the store I managed

In this day and age, when businesses don’t call back, they don’t show up when promised. It’s nice to do business with a company like Allen Thomas Electrical, very responsive very punctual, high quality workmanship thank you guys much appreciate it. Brian Crockett

I just had a whole house generator installed by Allen Thomas Electric. The entire experience was outstanding. There are several moving parts and they did an amazing job, coordinating everything flawlessly. We have used Allen for many different electrical needs and have had a premium experience each and every time. I highly recommend them.

Allen Thomas has very conscientious and experienced electricians. I had Allen Thomas install my whole house generator over 10 years ago, and so I knew I wanted to use him again to install my Electric Vehicle charger -- which required an upgrade in my electrical service. The electricians worked quickly and carefully, and cleaned up after themselves. Top notch service!

Todd from Allen Thomas Electric came out to some outdoor electrical work for us and it was a terrific experience. He was very up front with his recommendations and his estimates were both fair and dead on when the work was finished. It’s nice to have someone you can hire that is actually looking out for your best interests, I’ll be reaching out to them again whenever I need electric work done.

I recommend Allen Electric because the gentleman who replaced an old exhaust fan in our cramped half bath was a true professional - prompt, precise and efficient, well deserving of a 5 star rating

He also provided helpful advice for our next project, a cathedral ceiling fan installation, so we will engage this firm again

Brandon and his team did an outstanding job on our apartment's electrical issue. The work was done promptly and professionally while keeping the job within our budget. We would highly recommend him to anyone who needs electrical help.

Grant bado was amazing

Great experience with Valley Electric on multiple occasions. Very responsive, professional, and reasonably priced.

I would recommend Valley Electric to anyone needing their services. The electrician (business owner) was courteous, knowledgeable and efficient.

Highly recommend! Called this morning, and they could fit in a small job same day! Excellent customer service, in and out in an hour, very professional! Highly recommend!!

Punctual, proficient, super nice, went out of their way to make sure the job was done correctly. We are grateful for the care they put into their work and will hire them again without hesitation!
