ALX Tree Service is awesome. Gave me a fair quote and set the date for work. Promised "you won't even know we were here" as I was worried about possible lawn damage. Their equipment is state of the art, the workers are real pros and they laid down boards to prevent any dents in the lawn. I highly recommend them and will use them for my next job for sure!

This is a really good company! Alex Sonkin is an awesome guy and we've used his company ALX Tree Service multiple times. Didn't matter the size of the job, removing dozens of trees or just one, they came out promptly, ground down the stumps and cleaned up afterwards. Several of our friends and neighbors in West Hartford have opted to use Alex and appreciate his thoughtful and caring demeanor!

His attention to detail and his prices really can't be beat, from our experience, and if you want to feel at ease we highly recommend him! We are grateful to Alex that we were finally able to transform our yard that was once overrun with dead trees and shrubs.

AXL tree service was the best! Not an easy job for them to trim up a bunch of trees along a fence area. They were terrific! Jimmy the owner was great to deal with and everything went very smoothly! We have been calling on Alex for all of our landscaping needs for almost 10 years now. He has done everything from removing enormous trees to clearing brush. He recently mulched coconut husks for us, and even helped to rescue a cat from a tree. He is a very kind, conscientious, efficient, professional person, and his crew is absolutely phenomenal! We cut down a dying tree with ALX. They were knowledgeable and transparent with our situation throughout. They were efficient getting the tree down/stumping. These guys did an absolutely wonderful job they take their time I would highly recommend them they did a beautiful job in the front trimming my trees and in the back behind my garage they removed a huge tree the price was very reasonable they also did a beautiful clean up job

The crew from ALX Tree Services, out of West Hartford, came to get rid of 23 very large trees and their stumps. Due to the proximity of the trees to neighboring lawns and each other, we thought this would be a mission. ALX made the process of our tree removal look so quick and easy. They worked fast, precisely, and care & consideration of their surroundings. Within 24 hours, the trees were gone and the yard was remarkably clean. These guys did a fantastic job. Excellent communication from the start, best price and also used equipment I haven’t seen any other company use to be able to do multiple trees without the need to reset their equipment.

The lawn was covered with boards to prevent damage as much as possible and the tools used are lightweight which prevents the lawn from getting torn up.

Very impressed with the work they did and appreciate it! Will definitely be using them again in the future.

I needed a tree removed in a short amount of time. Everything was done very quickly and at a fair price. The entire experience could not have gone more smoothly. Highly recommend.

I've used Alx tree service twice.

The first service was to remove a 50 year old maple tree in a closed in space with limited access and many close in interference such as sheds, fences and deck. ALX tree service used a sophisticated "spider machine" much like a utility Cherry picker but smaller, sleeker and more stable and maneuverable. I was amazed how this spider successfully gain access to my small backyard, was stabilized with "spider" maneuverable legs and piece by piece by piece removed branches and lowered cut pieces to the ground without danger or jeopardizing close in structures. Alx also reseeded the shade area under the tree which came up abundantly this year.

It was a treat just to watch these guys work.

The second service was this year in April 2025. The maple tree removed in the fall was a deep shade maple which didn't allow lawn growth even a distance away on the property border. ALX removed accumulated yard debris such as rocks, cinder blocks and miscellaneous junk accumulated over the years, scraped down nongrowing areas, added top soil, seeded and covered with seed protection hay to both keep the birds from eating the seed and provide a moist environment for seed growth.

I fully expect this spring rejuvenation to be as successful as the fall tree removal and reseeding.

These guys are competent, polite, resourceful, energetic and they put in the extra effort to overcome unanticipated problems. Highly recommend.
