Reviews of local pros in West Suffield, Connecticut

Simply put the best! Rick Sotil first worked for us when the August storm. He came promptly to remove 2 large neighbors trees which had fallen through our house and did extensive interior damage. He worked until dark. He was fair, honest and did a difficult job for which we were grateful. We will now have him grade the lawn, seed in spring and restore the backyard. He will install a natural fence. He is easy to work with, exceeds expectations and aims to please . We wouldn't use anyone else and highly recommend Rick Sotil Tree Service. Thank you Rick!

From critical diagnosis of mature oak tree risk to its skillful and surgical removal, Sotil provided the most professional work. Using a number of high performance lift vehicles and equipment, and a well trained and efficient crew, the tree and stump were safely removed, leaving a neatly graded and soil-covered space. In addition, a number of other mature trees were trimmed, some with very large limbs. The property was left totally clear of all wood, fallen leaves and debris, power-blown and swept. The entire team was prompt, professional, courteous, and kind throughout.

Rich runs a tight ship! Great crew. Arrived exactly when they said. Great communication. Huge job, 12 trees, stumps ground, done in 3 days. Fair price, par with others for the same job. Cleaned up. Almost sad I had it all done at once! Pleased.

We had a great experience with Sotil. They were on time and very professional. They took great care to make sure their equipment didn’t damage the lawn and did a great job cleaning up after the tree was removed. I would highly recommend them for tree work.

I've used Sotil Tree Services four times over the last 15 years to take down trees and as recently as last week. He does excellent work and leaves nothing- and I mean nothing behind to rake up. He's personable and his quotes very competitive. After he completed my first job I never used another company or bothered with competitive quotes. Two years ago he took down an old healthy gigantic oak tree that was close to my house and had over taken my entire front yard with branches (each branch was a tree in its own right) extending far above and beyond the electrical service wires to my house. He brought in his crane because the tree's circumference and each of the cut sections removed were extremely heavy. To protect my lawn from leaving tread marks by the crane he laid down large steel plates to disperse the truck’s weight over a large area- the principle is the same for snow shoes and why you don’t sink in the snow. It was fascinating to watch the methodical process of dismantling the tree. I also had him grind the stump below the ground. For a man still in the prime of his life, Rick has an amazing life story. Be sure to ask him about it.

A Jan 2024 storm caused 1 of neighbors pine tree largest upper branch to fall on my garage. My insurance co. wanted it removed asap; garage secured as needed to mitigate damages from incoming wind & rain storm. Urban Forresters did tree work for me 2018 incl lower pine branches over my property. I called leaving VM about urgency asking them to let me know within an hour if they’d come or I’d have to start cold-calling. Within min Kody of Sotil Tree Sevice called and after sending photos of damage he said he’d come soon. Kody and crew were amazing! Damages were worse than pics suggested and after they cleared garage roof they nailed 2 tarps I had over the 5 through and through holes. They were returning the next day w wood chipper so I texted Kody early with a big ask: if I paid for his time and cost, would he pick up better tarps. He arrived with addl contractor grade tarps he purchased on the way and they nailed them to roof over 5 holes and then weighted bottom of tarps so wind wouldn’t take. Another big ask (I’m 71+ disabled person): would he shut breaker for garage power off at panel because I couldn’t access myself. Kody did that as well and when all was done; he wouldn’t charge any more than just cost of new tarps. I needed to find arborist and I’m happy I was referred to Sotil Tree Service. They went above and beyond when there were many emergency property damages.

Rick and his team were top notch! Meeting Rick on the estimate he was professional and knowledgeable. When the crew arrived they all got right to work. Within one day all the 11 trees were removed and the yard was cleaned up. I was very happy with the results. I also noticed the little extra attention to the details. That was appreciated! We will be using Sotil Tree Service for all our future Tree needs.

Rick and his team made excellent job. I called him yesterday. His team came next morning and remove my dead tree and also help me to clean my roof. Finally I get rid of this dangerous tree. I am so lucky to meet his team. Good price, high quality service.

At least one of the drivers for this company drive recklessly on the highway. They crossed the HOV divider to skip around traffic.

We had a great experience with our mini split install. Mike is knowledgeable, fair & professional. We have been very happy with the work.

Called this place when they were recommended on the Suffield forum and no one else would even get back to me. They were extremely busy but were able to get to me first thing in the morning on a Saturday! They fixed the issue and explained everything to me. Thank you so much!!

Matt and Adam came out to repair my AC and to give my HVAC system a overall cleaning and checkup. They were very professional and pleasant to deal with. Great experience. It should be noted that this was the first service call and cleaning on my system which Matt had installed 15 years ago. I would call that quality workmanship.

The guys from Timberhitch were a pleasure to work with from start to finish. They gave us a reasonable per day rate to clean a large, wooded property. The equipment was dropped off the day before to ensure they could start first thing in the morning. The two guys executed their clear plan, often going in different directions and working independently or together when need be. Super effective and efficient in removing trees and clearing the property, including on a steep hill and a lakeside beach. And they were good natured to boot! I highly recommend Timberhitch for your next landscaping job.

Beautiful mulch. Perfect plants. Great clean up.

Lambert employees were very polite and conscientious, wanting to do a good job.

Discussed options for several large trees in my yard which had been neglected. The tree crew was experienced and professional...they made it look easy. A+

I have used Lamberts for years for various trimming and tree projects. They also built a beautiful patio walkway for my mother. I don’t want to do business with anyone else.

I highly recommend Labert Lawn Care! Joe did a great job of transforming our backyard and making sure to stay within our budget. His team started on time and finished on schedule which is not easy to find these days.

I am pleased with Lambert Lawn Care's quote process and delivery. They took the time to understand what I wanted, and discussed options that fit my budget. Once the job was scheduled, they showed up on time and delivered as promised. Communication back and forth was great. Lambert’s built a stone wall and walkway, and removed landscape scrub from a large section of my property.

Work crew are friendly and efficient. They do a fantastic job. Work is completed as promised. We have used Lambert Lawn Care & Tree Service for fall cleanup along with removal of several trees and stump grinding. We would definitely recommend them and will be using them in the future for all of our outdoor projects.

I recently had some landscaping and tree removal done by Lambert Lawn Care. Everyone from the owner (Joe) to the crew and the office manager Jenesis were wonderful. Everyone that I dealt with were pleasant, respectful and knowledgeable. This is a hard working, honest company that I would recommend highly. In fact I plan on having them back in the spring to do some more work.
