Platinum Finishes took our basement from the studs to a beautifully painted room. As people who have hung drywall and done our fair share of painting, it’s fairly obvious why you pay a professional. 😂 The speed was astounding without compromising quality. We know the imperfections they were working with under the drywall, and you would never guess. The walls look smooth. The painting work is high-quality. Everyone we worked with was friendly and professional. 100% would hire again.

We had an excellent experience with Platinum Finishes. I had Hadyn over to give me quote on retaping our basement ceilings because the tape had loose edges due to too much flex in the ceiling. He suggested an overlay of the ceilings with 1/2" drywall, reapply knockdown, and finish with paint. This should fix the problem for good. The new ceilings look wonderful. They were timely in completing the project. They took great care to protect the flooring and cabinets. I won't hesitate to use Platinum Finishes in the future.

We hired Platinum Finishes for a full interior paint project. Despite their online reviews, our experience was extremely disappointing.

From the beginning there were visible finish issues — inconsistent sheen in hallways, poor patching, missed areas around doors, and ceiling joints visible under normal lighting. Several punch list items required repeated follow-up.

Platinum even had a Sherwin-Williams representative come out to inspect the work. The rep confirmed the issues were workmanship related, not a paint product problem.

Months later, we are now seeing patch failure and peeling paint, especially near the refrigerator area — clear signs that surface prep and patching were not done properly.

More concerning, during the project their crew dumped paint thinner down our bathroom sink, which damaged the drain. This is unsafe, improper disposal, and resulted in additional repairs we now have to deal with.

Rather than taking responsibility, Platinum provided a “closeout agreement” attempting to reframe legitimate defects as misunderstandings or scope exclusions. Communication became defensive instead of solution-focused (including an inappropriate email bringing religion into the conversation instead of addressing the work).

We weren’t looking for perfection — just professional preparation, consistent finish, durable results, and basic respect for our home. That’s not what we received.

If you’re considering Platinum Finishes, especially for larger or detail-sensitive projects, ask detailed questions about prep standards, patching methods, disposal practices, and warranty coverage before signing.

We’ve had Homestar power wash our house and more recently replace our roof. I’ve never had to have roofing work done before and they took all the anxiety out of the process. The work was quality and efficient. Would definitely hire Homestar again.

We used this company to get our house completely sided and re-roofed. The representative was always available and informative. He walked us through the entire process and the crews that did the work were amazing. We have received many compliments on the work that was done. We would definitely refer our friends and family.

We used Homestar to replace our roof after some hail damage, Kurt was there for every step, from the walkthrough with the insurance rep to the final inspection with the city. He even came and checked on us after a couple of the storms at the end of summer! The work was scheduled quickly, the job was done in a day, the site was immaculate after they left. i would go back to Homestar in a heartbeat.

We had a tree fall on our garage in one of our storms at the end of July. Kurtis came over to our house within 2 hours to review the damage and start the process with our insurance company. We had never made an insurance claim before and Kurtis was knowledgeable, remained in communication with our insurance company and kept us informed every step of the way. He organized many contractors to fix our garage door and gutters. We had a ton of difficulty with our insurance company and Kurtis never let it interrupt the goal of getting us back to how we were before the storm. The communication he had with us is unexplainable and I don't know that any other company would have gone above and beyond like he did. From repairs to roof replacement, payment and clean up, the handling was outstanding! 2 guys arrived and KNOCKED on my door. I opened it. They were kind and seemed ready to figure out the problem.
They were outside for a while and I used the bathroom in between. I came out and they were gone.
I called several times and texted .
I finally looked at my ring camera a couple days later and seen they try to ring my door bell which doesn't ring inside the house (it was already installed when i moved in) They stood there for a couple mins and then left and refused to talk to me even again. Never called me while standing outside. Never gave me the benefit of the doubt . They just decided to be super petty due to a simple mistake. My demeanor was warm and welcoming. To just assume I did something out of being malicious and never call or answer me was beyond petty. I left a message stating the same thing this morning on his voicemail. Very odd behavior.
