We live in a 1964 ranch style home that we purchased in 2012. The open kitchen was an improvement from our last tiny kitchen and provided lots of space. However, the painted red cabinets, broken glass fronts, the laminate countertop (with several burn marks) and builder tile throughout the kitchen and living room, left the space feeling dark and uninspiring. We lived with it for 8 years and dreamed of a bright modern kitchen that we could entertain in and cook up inspiring dishes.

We were referred to Revent by an architect friend and decided to get a bid. We met with Andrew, our Project Manager, and walked through our home. Andrew was courteous, asked questions, made suggestions and overall had a great personality and we hit it off immediately.

After a few rounds of design changes and discussions on finishes, we finalized everything and set a start date. The whole project took about 8 weeks from start to finish. Demo was quick and it was amazing to see our kitchen gone in a matter of hours. We ran into a few snags throughout the process, but nothing that couldn't be fixed and wasn't terribly costly. Thank goodness!

Andrew was always available as we had questions or concerns. He was efficient at getting information we requested from any of the trades and quick to assist with any challenges.

As the project came to a close, it was amazing to see the transformation from a dark and dreary kitchen and living room, to a bright, airy and functional space. We walk in each morning to make coffee and feel so relaxed and happy. Everyone who has stopped by loves it. The butcher block island is my favorite space to enjoy a meal, play cards and visit with family and friends.

We can't thank Revent enough for helping us see our vision come to life. We absolutely love our kitchen and living room.

I have been involved in real estate and real estate projects both personal and rental for many years. I’ve embarked on dozens of rebuilds, renovations and new construction. I’ve gone the budget route and the big box route. Ultimately, no project of any real scale is going to be seamless. There are always surprises and unexpected bumps along the way. Could be something hidden in the walls, or materials being delayed or the city throwing you a curveball.

The key is the mindset of who you choose to work with. How thorough are they going to be in planning and preparation in advance to avoid or minimize any of the aforementioned disruption. Are they going to over promise and under deliver or manage expectations with honesty and transparency. And just as important when the unavoidable surfaces can you trust that they’ll do the right thing for you even if it sets them back or costs them? The temptation is there to sweep a problem under the rug so they can get on to the next project and leaving the consequences under the surface for you to deal with once they’re gone and the issue surfaces down the road.

With John, what you see is what you get. He truly cares about his customers and his reputation. He puts in the diligence to avoid the preventable surprises. He is clear and care up front and throughout. He operates with honesty and integrity along the way. His guys do quality work and the also don’t cover up mistakes (whether there’s or those they’ve uncovered) but make sure the customer is well taken care of. And they do good work. These are skilled craftsemn operating on a team they are proud to be a part of, not random subs with no skin in the game.

It is clear from top to bottom that John and his team at Revent have a culture and mindset that is sorely lacking in the construction world. It’s a breath of fresh air to know corners aren’t being cut and your best interest are being served.

The other key variable is the communication surrounding all of this. A great outcome can be soured by poor communication or expectation management. John excels at this aspect of his work also. He is both consistent and clear as well as thorough (not surprising from a former attorney) in his communications, plans, reporting and billing. Often when issues arise on projects like these they are both costly and emotional which makes it very sensitive. He handles those calmly and fairly. Is creative in problem solving and operates with empathy. He and his team both do excellent work and also create an excellent experience along the way.

A deficiency in and lack of appreciation for any of the things above is why there are so many horror stories in the construction world. John is the ally and advocate you want managing your project and his team are the guys with the skills, eyes and pride you want doing the work.

If you want the job done cheaply and are willing to accept a lower quality work and headaches along the way then you should look around as you may find a lower cost option. However, if you want the job done well, don’t have time or interest in BS along the way and want to rest easy knowing you aren’t being taken or setup for a disaster down the road, I’d go with Revent.

We are so pleased with the outstanding remodel on our 1947 home. The teams with Revent Remodel and Construction worked together to update our kitchen, baths, and den. As with any older home, there are issues which they worked diligently and successfully to address. Electrical, plumbing, and gas lines were all brought up to date and up to code. Structural issues were addressed so that all floors are sound. The tiling and carpentry work were handled by experts at the artisan level. The custom cabinets are beyond our dream come true; they have exceeded all expectations in beauty and functionality. We are so happy that we found this incredible team of talented and skilled remodelers.
We highly recommend Revent Remodeling and Construction, because we know you will not be disappointed by the professional quality of their work.

Remodeling is always tricky, and in my opinion selecting the right contractor is the single most critical part of the process. Revent gets high marks for communication, initiative, work quality, transparency, and accountability. While the project took a bit longer than expected, it was on budget, and we were fully satisfied with the final outcome in terms of quality and appearance. Revent treated us and our home with respect and we would use them again without hesitation. 5/5.

I STRONGLY recommend Revent Remodeling & Construction. After months of being ghosted by several contractors, we were finally referred to John by a family friend. We were able to plan, quote, and get started on our remodel in a shorter amount of time than it took other contractors to even email us back.

The entire crew was a dream to work with. They were knowledgable, punctual, and best of all responsive (often responding within MINUTES of a question/concern/issue). They quoted us accurately (both price and timing), so there were no unfortunate surprises along the way.

They did a stellar job. We could not be happier with the quality of their work and service. I wish I could give them more than 5 stars. Highly, highly recommend.

John Gioffre with Revival is the guy you need. This is his calling and he has been doing it for many years. He takes a lot of pride and passion in his work. He knows his work is important and will be around for a long time so he will go out of his way to make sure it's done right and looks the way his client envisioned. I would not hesitate to hire Revival Construction and would recommend them!

Since purchasing a fixer-upper several years ago, I've worked with multiple contractors on various updates, and thought I had a pretty good idea of what to expect when I approached John about a large, multi-faceted project. I couldn't have been more wrong - instead of vague estimates and murky calculations, his proposal was deeply detailed and completely transparent. He has continued to apply that same attention to detail and open communication throughout our lengthy project.

John doesn't show up with random/lowest bidder subs - every person who works for him is selected with care, and his bottom line is always quality. I once had a contractor send an electrician who installed the switches upside down, but John would never let that happen. He is a joy to work with, very responsive (always within a few hours), and the most trustworthy, reliable contractor I've found. He and his crew have transformed our property and made the entire process feel so easy that I'm trying to find additional things for them to do!

We've passed every inspection with flying colors, with inspectors remarking on the quality of work delivered by John's crew. If you want your project done well, and practically pain-free, John's your guy.
